Milano Unica trade show records 10% rise in international visitors
The share of international visitors at the show, which presented the Fall/Winter 2026-27 collections of premium fabrics and accessories for men, women and children, was 45% of the total. The number of exhibitors too was up from last edition, to 735, driven by an 8.7% increase in European exhibitors.
'Almost all the main markets for Italian exports of fabrics and accessories, both in the EU and outside the EU, have responded positively. While the results, which I hope will be positive, will be seen in 2026, the satisfactory attendance figures of foreign buyers, a fact confirmed by the extensive positive feedback I gathered among fellow exhibitors, makes us look to the future with moderate optimism,' said Simone Canclini, president of Milano Unica.
'The exceptional results we have achieved in this edition of the show are the fruit of our team work, (..) and they confirm the strategic role Milano Unica plays in supporting [Italy's] textile and fashion industries, evident also in the partnership with the MarediModa show,' said Massimo Mosiello, managing director of Milano Unica.

Beauty: EcoBeautyScore, the environmental rating system, enters the deployment phase
After three years of development, the initiative, supported by a consortium of beauty industry players, is now operational. This rating system is now used by several consumer brands, including L'Oréal Paris, Neutrogena, Nivea and Eucerin, which have begun publishing their product scores in several mainland European markets, as well as in the UK. The project was initiated in 2021 by L'Oréal, LVMH, Henkel and Unilever, and has since been joined by some 40 other players, including Coty, Estée Lauder, Puig, Shiseido, Sisley, Amorepacific, Febea, Cosmetic Valley and Cosmetics Europe. Structured as a non-profit association, the EcoBeautyScore system aims to create a common framework for assessing the environmental footprint of skincare and personal care products. Like Nutriscore in the food sector, it awards a grade from A to E, based on 16 impact indicators (carbon, water, natural resources, pollution, etc.), over the product's entire life cycle. The system is based on the European Union's Environmental Product Footprint (EPF) methodology, and has been validated by Ecocert. Participating brands will undergo regular audits, with certification by an independent third party. "EcoBeautyScore provides the beauty sector with a much-needed transparency tool. For the first time, brands can communicate their environmental impact in a coherent, digestible way, based on scientific data," explains Jean-Baptiste Massignon, Managing Director of the EcoBeautyScore association. Initially, EcoBeautyScore is being deployed in four segments: shampoos, conditioners, shower gels and facial care products. Interested brands can access a trial version of the system free of charge, as well as resources to help them implement it. The consortium plans a gradual extension to other product categories, with an international opening in the coming months.

RH makes Quebec debut at Royalmount
RH Montreal, The Gallery at Royalmount opened its doors on Friday, marking the luxury home furnishings brand's debut in Quebec. Located within the Royalmount development, the new space introduces RH's signature immersive design experience to the province. Spanning over 50,000 square feet across three floors, RH Montreal blurs the boundaries between indoors and out, retail and residential, home and hospitality. The exterior of the building is characterized by an artisanal brick façade crafted from hand-selected Italian bricks in a parchment-cream palette, finished with classic corbelling and towering glass-and-bronze doors. Overhead, the RH Restaurant & Terrace is framed by a progression of littleleaf boxwoods. Inside, visitors are welcomed through 10-foot-tall doors into the gallery's Great Room with soaring floor-to-ceiling columns and unobstructed views across the first level. Barrel-vaulted passageways branch off to a series of curated rooms that house RH Interiors and RH Modern collections. A double floating staircase, nearly 32 feet in height, anchors the space and leads guests to the upper levels. A skylight three stories above fills the staircase with natural light. On the second floor, guests will find further expressions of RH Interiors and RH Modern, alongside RH Interior Design—a 1,400-square-foot studio offering design services. A dedicated RH Rugs showroom and expansive textile and furniture libraries offer rich inspiration and customization options for clients and designers alike. The third floor is home to the RH Restaurant & Terrace, a destination anchored by a dramatic open kitchen clad in Taj Mahal stone and surrounded by heritage olive trees, sparkling chandeliers, and a central fountain. Serving a seasonal menu of enduring classics and fresh seafood, the dining experience is enhanced by a seamless transition to the landscaped rooftop terrace. Here, panoramic views of Royalmount provide the backdrop to relaxed outdoor lounge areas. RH Montreal marks the brand's second flagship store in Canada, joining RH Toronto, The Gallery at Yorkdale, which opened in 2017. Last month, RH equally opened a new location in Oklahoma City with the debut of RH Oklahoma City, The Gallery at Oak.

Antonio Marras opens first global store in New York
Antonio Marras has opened its first international store in New York. The 700-square-metre, single-level flagship (with 400 metres dedicated to sales) is located in the city's Soho neighbourhood at 121 Wooster Street and marks a crucial step in the global expansion of the Sardinian designer's eponymous brand. The flagship store is located inside a historic 19th-century building with ornate tin tile ceilings, cast-iron columns, exposed brick walls, and concrete grit floors. The original architectural elements were enhanced during the renovation project overseen by Antonio Marras himself, who sold 80% of his brand to Oniverse (formerly Calzedonia Group) in 2022. "I've always loved New York, I've always felt at home there, and that's how I conceived the boutique: a home where hospitality takes priority," said creative director Antonio Marras. "New York is the city that most resembles me because, like me, it never sleeps, because it is the place of encounters, entanglements, and cross-pollination. Because people come from all parts of the world, but they keep their love for their origins intact, even after generations." The store houses a multifaceted, three-dimensional, unique installation at its entrance. The piece was created by Marras as a tribute to Sardinia's age-old tradition of looms and weaving and inspired by his Sardinian muse, artist Maria Lai. At the back of the boutique, at a large skylight, is a luminous garden-greenhouse furnished with neoclassical and baroque design pieces, fine carpets, a large crystal chandelier, and myrtle plants in handcrafted ceramic pots. The rest of the store houses a selection of furniture that celebrates 20th-century Italian design, with iconic pieces such as Carlo Mollino's table and Mario Bellini's Camaleonda sofa. "Soho, with its history as a creative hub and the presence of art galleries, designer ateliers, and cultural spaces, perfectly reflects the brand's values and aesthetic. Just like Antonio Marras, Soho is a place where tradition meets experimentation, where historical memory merges with the contemporary and where fashion, art, and design coexist in a constant dialogue," said Barbara Calò, CEO of Antonio Marras. The flagship will also serve as an experiential space: in addition to clothes and design objects, it will also be home to exclusive capsules, one-of-a-kind pieces, and site-specific projects, in line with the eclectic spirit of the brand strongly rooted in art and culture. After its acquisition by Oniverse, Antonio Marras has turbocharged its development, from retail expansion with the recent openings in Rome and Milan (Montenapoleone), which brought the number of its exclusive brand stores to 11, to product category expansion through its entry into the underwear segment with the launch of a genderless capsule line. "Being present in New York allows us to dialogue with a highly sophisticated international audience, while strengthening our identity through an immersive and distinctive physical experience," said Sandro Veronesi, president of Oniverse.
