Victory Securities Secures Approval to Offer Two Key Virtual Asset Services
HONG KONG SAR - Media OutReach Newswire - 28 April 2025 - Victory Securities today announced that it has officially obtained two significant regulatory consent from the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) of Hong Kong to provide virtual asset (VA)-related products and services: 1) provision of discretionary account management services (DAMS) to retail and professional investors, investing in spot VA, VA futures and VA options; and 2) distribution of VA-referenced, physically settled structured products to professional investors.
Victory Securities is now permitted to offer DAMS to both retail and professional investors, managing a range of customizable investment products, including spot crypto investments and derivatives. Victory Securities is the first licensed broker in Hong Kong to be able to provide VA DAMS via, amongst other trading platforms, Binance FZE and Deribit FZE, which are amongst the largest VA and VA derivative exchanges in the world by trading volume. The volatility of the virtual asset market has deterred some investors, and Victory Securities' DAMS aims to serve as a bridge for clients to invest in this sector. The service combines an experienced investment team with an institutional-grade risk control system, operating within a framework that strictly adheres to clients' risk preferences and investment objectives. It covers core aspects such as asset allocation, risk assessment, and dynamic asset allocation strategies, with round-the-clock monitoring to provide high-net-worth individuals and institutional investors with efficient and compliant asset appreciation solutions.
Mr. Kennix Chan, Deputy CEO of Victory Securities, stated, 'The professionalization of the virtual asset market is a future trend. Our discretionary account management services will strictly comply with the SFC's regulatory framework, integrating quantitative analysis and market insights to create long-term value for investors.'
On the other hand, following its approval late last year as the first Hong Kong brokerage to distribute cash-settled VA-referenced structured products, Victory Securities has further secured the regulatory consent to distribute physically-settled VA-referenced structured products. At expiry, the issuer of physically-settled VA-referenced structured products will deliver spot VA to the clients of Victory Securities. The flexible investment features of physically settled VA-referenced structured products enable investors to better capitalize on market volatility.
Mr. Kennix Chan emphasized, ' This service significantly reduces the cost and time barriers associated with cross-market asset conversions, providing cryptocurrency holders with an innovative channel to seamlessly access traditional financial products. The flexible investment features of virtual asset-structured products also enable investors to capitalize on market volatility.'
In recent years, Victory Securities has actively aligned with the Hong Kong government's policy direction of 'embracing virtual assets,' continuously enhancing its compliance infrastructure. The group has now established a full-chain service ecosystem covering trading, asset management, and product distribution, positioning itself as a key player in the local virtual asset compliance process. As more investors enter the market, Victory Securities' 'one-stop virtual asset solutions' are poised to seize market opportunities.

SFC, SSL seal agreement to improve tourism facilities at Niah, Tanjung Datu national parks
KUCHING: Tourism facilities at Niah and Tanjung Datu National Parks, two of Sarawak's iconic protected areas, will get a facelift following the signing of a 20-year concession agreement between Sarawak Forestry Corporation (SFC) and Sutera Sanctuary Lodges (SSL) today. SFC general manager Abang Arabi Abang Aimran and SSL president Datuk Zarazilah Mohd Ali signed the agreement at a ceremony held here, witnessed by Sarawak Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan, who represented Premier Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg. The agreement, with an optional 20-year extension, will see SSL undertake the management and enhancement of tourism services at the two national parks. SFC in a statement said at Niah National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2024, SSL will begin renovation works by the end of this year to include new accommodation, a restaurant, swimming pool and bar, while preserving the park's 40,000-year-old archaeological and natural heritage. For Tanjung Datu National Park, located in the southern part of Sarawak, SSL will develop a boutique eco-retreat featuring private villas, a spa, a restaurant and other premium facilities over the next three years, guided by sustainable and low-impact design. 'This public-private partnership marks a major milestone in Sarawak's commitment to responsible tourism, improved protected area management and empowering local communities through eco-tourism,' SFC added.

Sarawak's first private zoo to open in Bau as part of Tasik Biru Resort City

According to Tecktonic & Sons Holdings Sdn Bhd managing director Lee Chin Teck, the project is already in the process of securing a licence from the Sarawak Forestry Corporation (SFC). 'We went to the SFC, and they said, 'Your application is number one' – meaning no one has applied for a zoo licence before. 'The CEO texted me just two days ago, and I believe our application is quite competitive. Hopefully, we can get a licence by the end of this year,' he said. He made these remarks in his welcoming speech during the 205th Bau District anniversary celebration, Pesta Tasik Biru 2025 and launch of Tasik Biru Resort City, held at Pentas Utama, Tasik Biru Resort City here yesterday. Adding on, Lee shared that the idea to develop a zoo was inspired after a research trip across Asia, where he visited leading private zoos in Vietnam and Thailand. He said the zoo in Vietnam, in particular, sparked the vision to create a fully integrated destination featuring accommodation, entertainment, and wildlife attractions. 'Before you enter the zoo there, you see shophouses, hotels, apartments, and theme parks, which really opened my eyes. 'So, I came back and told Dr Felix, a veterinarian from Singai, to be our zoo consultant and return to Sarawak from Kuala Lumpur.' The planned zoo, expected to cost around RM30 million, will be located within the Tasik Biru Resort City and will feature a diverse range of animals including tigers and lions (estimated at US$40,000 each) as well as giraffes, which cost double due to logistical challenges. Lee sees the zoo as a key component of Bau's transformation into a tourist hub, describing it as a 'potential game changer' for the district. 'When I first started developing in Sematan, people thought I was crazy. Now that the project is fully sold and packed every weekend, I believe the same will happen here,' he added. Abang Johari signs a plaque, witnessed by (from left) Jinep, Lee and Abdul Karim. – Photo by Mohd Faisal Ahmad In line with environmental sustainability, Lee said he was inspired by the ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) principles he learned during a recent mining trip to Canada, where he visited the renowned Butchart Gardens – a former limestone quarry turned botanical haven. 'Datuk Amar invited me on that trip, and I understood then that he wanted me to turn Tasik Biru into something like Butchart Gardens in Borneo. 'That is what I am aiming for with this zoo and the surrounding development,' he added. With a 36-acre lake at its heart and the resort city steadily expanding, Lee believes Bau can emerge as a vibrant destination akin to Damansara in Kuala Lumpur. Future developments include a safari zoo, Blue Lake Apartment with 149 units, and a hotel set to complement the zoo's draw. 'I hope that in three years, with the apartment, hotel and zoo completed, Bau will become a vibrant destination – no longer a quiet town, but a tourism jewel of Sarawak,' he said. He added the zoo project also promises economic benefits for the local community, highlighting that the current LePaPa outlet in Bau has already created 250 job opportunities. 'Further expansion is planned in Selangau and Lawas, with the Lawas outlet being three times the size of Bau.' The event was officiated by Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, and attended by Sarawak Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, Batu Kitang assemblyman Dato Lo Khere Chiang, and Puncak Borneo MP Datuk Willie Mongin.
