Ozzy Osbourne predicted he would 'die a happy man' after farewell gig
The Black Sabbath star passed away on Tuesday (22.07.25) just two weeks after he got the band back together for a huge final show in their hometown of Birmingham, England - and he previously predicted he would be satisfied to if he managed to play one final concert celebrating his life.
Speaking to Rolling Stone magazine in 2023, Ozzy predicted: "I just want to be well enough to do one show where I can say: 'Hi guys, thanks so much for my life'.
"That's what I'm working towards, and if I drop down dead at the end of it, I'll die a happy man."
Ozzy's interview with Rolling Stone came before he had finalised plans for the Back to the Beginning show, which reunited him with his Black Sabbath bandmates Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward for one final show before stepping away from performing for good.
The veteran rocker suffered a number of health setbacks over the years including spinal issues relating to a quad bike crash in 2003 and injuries from a subsequent fall, infections and a Parkinson's disease diagnosis.
He also previously revealed his wife Sharon came up with the idea for the Black Sabbath reunion gig as a way of cheering him up after his health issues started to get him down. He told the Guardian newspaper: "You wake up the next morning and find that something else has gone wrong. You begin to think this is never going to end.
"Sharon could see that I was in Doom Town, and she says to me: 'I've got an idea.' It was something to give me a reason to get up in the morning.' "I thought: 'Oh, f****** hell, she's got an idea. Here we go."
News of his death was confirmed by his family on Tuesday in a statement which read: "It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love. "We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time. Sharon, Jack, Kelly, Aimee and Louis."

Guy eventually put pop on the backburner to continue acting - joining rival Australian soap Home and Away for a short stint and going back to his theatre roots - and his perseverance eventually paid off as he landed his breakout Hollywood role in The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert in 1994. Now Guy admits he doesn't regret missing out on being a 1980s pop sensation, telling the publication: "I went back and did some theatre, a little bit of Home and Away and then, in 1993, I got to do Priscilla. So, yes, I'm really grateful that my 80s pop career didn't take off!" Guy did eventually return to music two decades later when he released his first album, Broken Bones, in 2014 and he followed it up by released his second record The Nomad in 2018.

Demi Lovato releases first single in three years
Demi Lovato has released her first new single in three years. The singer dropped electro-pop track Fast on Friday (01.08.25) after she previously declared she was ready to return to her pop roots after dabbling with a rock sound on her last album Holy Fvck. As she teased the new single in posts on social media, Demi told fans: "My pop music coming back to life after we had a funeral for it." The singer previously held a "funeral" for her pop sound by sharing a picture of herself and her team dressed in black with Demi holding up her middle finger to the camera. She captioned the snap: "A funeral for my pop music". Fast is Demi's first release since she launched Holy Fvck in 2002 which was led by the singles Skin of My Teeth, Substance and 29. Rolling Stone magazine recently reported Demi would be embracing pop again on her next project, with the publication suggesting the album - which will be her ninth studio record - is expected to be released later in the year. She has been working on her new music with songwriter/producer Zhone, who told Rolling Stone they had a lot of fun in the studio together while making the new record. Kelly Osbourne is reportedly doing her best to keep the final promise she made to her father, Ozzy Osbourne, before he died. 'The last few days have been a tough ride, but Kelly has been focused on executing plans with her mum,' a source told the Daily Mail on Friday.
