During the meet 100, 200, 400, 600 & 1500 mts race, long jump, shot put, discuss throw and relay race events were held.
Trials – District level and divisional level junior boys basketball selection trials will be held at Green Park stadium on July 25 at 10 am and 3 pm.
The selected divisional level team will participate in state level junior boys basketball championship. According to regional sports officer, Bhanu Prasad, interested players should contact his office and they should carry their Aadhar card birth certificate at the time of trial.
Players who are born on January 1, 2007 or thereafter will be eligible for participation in trials.
Volley ball – CMKP Sainik School Lucknow defeated host Gaurav Memorial International school by 2-1 in the final and won the title of under – 14 age group of Volley Ball cluster 4 championship of CBSE schools. Hosts displayed fine work in under – 17 years group and won the trophy defeating Vidya Gyan School Sitapur by 2-1 in the final. Army Public School Farrukhabad outplayed Army Public school SP Marg Lucknow by 2-0 and won under – 19 group championship.

Power lifting championship in August
Kanpur: The divisional level sub-junior, junior, senior and masters (men and women) powerlifting open bench press and inter-school bench press championship will be held at VSSD College, Nawabganj, on August 2 and 3. According to secretary of the Kanpur District Powerlifting Association, Saurabh Shukla, trials for the selection of the UP team will also be conducted. The selected team will participate in the National Senior Powerlifting & Bench Press Championship, slated to be held at Jamshedpur (Tata Nagar) from August 18. Registration of lifters will commence on August 1. Lifters must bring their Aadhar card, two passport-size photos, and a high school certificate. Christ Church College wins cricket tournament
Kanpur: Utkarsh Tiwari's impressive all-round performance, scoring 34 runs and taking 2 wickets, helped Christ Church College to defeat Sir Padampat Singhania Sports Academy by 9 wickets and secure victory in the district junior boys cricket tournament, which concluded at Green Park stadium on Saturday. Sir Padampat Singhania Sports Academy, after being invited to bat, managed a total of 74 runs in 15 overs. Vansh Nigam was the main scorer with 33 runs. In response, Christ Church College scored 75 runs in 11.4 overs, with Utkarsh Tiwari contributing 34 runs. Brief score: Sir Padampat Singhania Sports Academy – 8 for 74 (Vansh Nigam 33, Utkarsh Tiwari, Raza and Priyanshu all took 2 wickets each). Christ Church College – 1 for 75 (Utkarsh Tiwari 34, Abhinav Prajapati 1 wicket). Football—Selection trials for district and divisional level women senior football team will be held at Green Park stadium on July 29. The divisional level team will participate in the state championship, scheduled to be held at Varanasi from August 1 to 6. According to regional sports officer, Green park, Bhanu Pratap, interested players should bring their birth certificate and Aadhar card at the time of trial.

DPS Azad Nagar gets champion trophy in Youth Olympic
Kanpur: DPS Azad Nagar clinched the champion trophy in Youth Olympic, which concluded here on Thursday. DPS Kalyanpur and Pt Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Sanatan Dharam Vidyalaya were adjudged as the first and second runners-ups, respectively. GD Goenka School was specially honoured for its disciplined performance. MLCs Arun Pathak, Angad Singh and member of All India Krida Bharti attended presented trophies and medals to the winners. The Kanpur Olympic association also felicitated the directors and principals of the participating schools for providing their campus for sports events.
