Law enforcement says two men arrested, two guns seized after robbery in Washington
WASHINGTON, N.C. (WNCT) — Two men were arrested after a reported armed robbery outside Hilda's Family Country Store in Washington Wednesday, June 4, 2025.
Deputies with the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office responded and got information from the victim and began searching for the suspected vehicle, described as a burgundy 2025 Mitsubishi Mirage with a South Carolina license tag and front-end damage.
At 12:16 p.m., the vehicle was found in a parking lot of a restaurant on W. 5th Street. Two men were arrested and a third ran away from law enforcement.
Two guns were seized by deputies. Marcel Laquan Whitney, 32, of Chocowinity and Eric Lavon Whitney Jr., 33, were charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon.
Both were jailed in the Beaufort County Detention Center without bond. Detectives found the robbery was targeted toward the one victim.

Manhunt underway for illegal immigrant wanted in serious Nashville hit-and-run
Law enforcement officials are seeking the public's help to find an illegal immigrant who is believed to be involved in a serious hit-and-run incident last month in Nashville. Detectives said Tony Lopez-Infante, 32, of Venezuela, is wanted for the May 18 crash that seriously injured Zach Carach, 21, of Florida. A spokesperson for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) confirmed to WZTV that Lopez-Infante entered the US in August 2023. ICE also confirmed to Fox News Digital that Lopez-Infante "is in the county illegally and has a final order of removal." Police search for driver in Nashville hit-and-run that left tourist seriously injured
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Authorities are searching for a driver involved in a hit-and-run crash that left a 21-year-old tourist seriously injured nearly three weeks ago. According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, Zach Carach was in Nashville with his family for his 21st birthday when he was struck by a Mitsubishi Mirage in the 1500 block of Church Street at approximately 6 p.m. on Sunday, May 18. PREVIOUS | 21-year-old injured after hit-and-run on busy Nashville road As seen on video obtained by News 2, the 21-year-old was in a crosswalk when he was hit by the vehicle and thrown airborne. The Mitsubishi is then seen driving away. According to Carach's family, doctors said it's a miracle that he survived the crash. On May 19, just a day after the hit-and-run, officers announced that investigators at a Mt. Juliet rental facility, but efforts continued to locate the driver. The MNPD has now identified the driver as 32-year-old Tony Lopez-Infante of Venezuela.
