Jeremy Clarkson announces big change to Farmer's Dog pub after customer's bold demand
Jeremy Clarkson's pub, The Farmer's Dog, has made a noteworthy change to its operations after a request from a bold customer. The Clarkson's Farm star, has seemingly shown off his softer side with his latest decision to change his establishment's rules.
Over the weekend, one hopeful fan reached out to Jeremy on X, asking: "Can you open your pub for me about six hours earlier on Monday, please? I was going to visit, but didn't realise you don't open until 5pm." The former Top Gear host replied: "Mondays are when our brilliant staff catch their breath."
However, it appears that the 64-year-old TV star has had a recent rethink about the opening hours since replying to the fan. An update on the pub's Facebook page showed a group snap of the staff alongside the announcement of a new policy.
The caption announced that Monday's would now be a day of rest for the entire team, the Express reports.
It read: "We are giving our team Mondays to spend time recharging – we will be fully open Tuesday to Sunday in both the pub and the Grand Tour tent."
The pub's website has also now been updated to reflect the new opening times.
While the pub will be closed on Mondays going forward, it will still welcome customers six days a week from 11am to 11pm from Tuesday to Saturday.
On Sundays, the iconic pub will be open from 11am to 10.30pm.
Jeremy acquired the Asthall pub located in the picturesque Cotswolds for £1M, back when it was known as The Windmill.
After revamping the pub and renaming it to The Farmer's Dog, which is believed to be a tribute to his Prime Video show Clarkson's Farm and his Diddly Squat Farm venture, the venue opened last August and has been thriving ever since.
The pub's official website states: "The Pub isn't the only attraction at The Farmer's Dog. If the pub is full, or you fancy a quicker visit, head outside to our tent and check out: Hops and Chops, The Farmer's Puppy and Diddly Squat Farm Shop."
Hops and Chops offers customers a carnivore's delight with its butchery and bottle shop combo, showcasing British-reared meats as well as Hawkstone lager or cider.
Meanwhile, The Farmer's Puppy is essentially a mini version of the main pub, catering to customers during the bustling hours of 9.30am to 3pm from Tuesday to Thursdays. Opening hours extend to 4pm on weekends.
The Diddly Squat Farm Shop is also a tempting treat for customers, being branded as "the best of the farm".
It offers a posh emporium for those looking for something special.

Top Gear star Steve Berry admits he 'never got along' with co-star Jeremy Clarkson and reveals why the writing was on the wall for BBC show once he launched The Grand Tour
Top Gear star Steve Berry revealed him and Jeremy Clarkson 'never got along' during their time together on the BBC show. The British motoring journalist, 61, made the candid admission while chatting during a special interview for Al Arabiya News. The car enthusiast didn't go soft describing his former colleague Jeremy, 65, and said his selfish qualities were what made him 'unique' and appealing to Top Gear bosses. Describing in detail how he first met with the TV personality, he explained: 'The first shoot that I went along on was presented by a certain Mr. Jeremy Clarkson. 'And I'll never forget this, he turned up two hours late. I turned up half an hour early because I wanted to impress. 'He turned up to hours late and the crew were fuming. Absolutely fuming. I thought. "Right, make a point, don't do that because you want the crew on your side."' The beloved car enthusiast didn't go soft describing his former colleague Jeremy, 65, and said his selfish qualities where what made him 'unique' and appealing to Top Gear bosses (Jeremy pictured in October 2024) Steve also claimed the presenter's on-screen behaviour is an accurate representation of who he is off-camera. He added: 'You couldn't act that persona for all the years that he has. 'He is kind of like that, and like I said, even though he and I never really got on together. 'The last time I met him in person, there was a bar, it was at a car show and there was an open bar and he said: "Berry, people know we don't like each other, I'll buy you a pint and we'll stand over there pretending we like each other".' Steve admitted Top Gear struggled to compete when Clarkson and his two co-hosts, James May and Richard Hammond, started work on Amazon Prime show The Grand Tour. 'The problem with car shows is, if you looked at Grand Tour or Top Gear, you have to go around the world to impress people. 'You can't just go in the car park or in the garden or in a kitchen. You have to like the salt flats in Namibia or the North Pole or somewhere like that. 'Or else people are like, "oh, well, this isn't as good as the Grand Tour". They set a standard.' And yet, the motoring legend had nothing but 'respect' for Jeremy. 'Do you know what? I said, again, I said I don't like him, but I respect him. I think Clarkson, Hammond and May quit at exactly the right time. 'It was just on the cusp of them starting to, some of the ideas were coming around for the second or third time. 'There was still an engaging watch, but I thought, when they quit, I thought oh, that's good timing.'

Pamela Anderson breaks silence on Meghan Markle's 'rip off' show
Pamela Anderson has finally spoken out on viral claims Meghan Markle 'ripped off' her cooking show with Netflix series , With Love, Meghan. Fans of the Baywatch bombshell, 58, were left incensed when the former working Royal, 44, debuted her latest TV venture - which bore eerie similarities to Pamela's Cooking With Love, which premiered earlier this year on Prime Video. The Baywatch star Anderson opened up on Sunday's Watch What Happens Live! - with host Andy Cohen asking her: 'On a scale from one to 10, how much of a rip-off did you feel like With Love, Meghan was of your show, Pamela's Cooking with Love?' Anderson, who was appearing alongside new love and co-star Liam Neeson responded: 'One. I didn't - I didn't really look, but I mean, I didn't invent cooking shows' adding that Markle 'is just doing her thing.' The drama erupted when Prince Harry 's wife gave People magazine some of her top domestic tips ahead of the release of With Love, Meghan, in March. These included how to 'elevate' a normal dinner – such as after ordering a takeaway, for example. Citing Chinese as a favorite delivery option, Markle told the US magazine: 'I like being able to do a hybrid, but even when I get a takeout I will try to plate it beautifully.' And discussing her new trademark As Ever – after she failed to secure copyright branding for her original name, American Riviera Orchard – she insisted: 'It's a learning curve. 'I appreciate everyone who gave me the grace to make mistakes and figure it out and also be forgiving with myself through that.' The two former TV stars live more than a thousand miles apart, yet both were smiling and giggling in brightly lit country kitchens, filming aspirational cooking with photogenic friends and famous celebrities. Both are seen carrying wicker baskets of fruit and vegetables picked from their gardens, dancing with joy, and gleefully high-fiving their celebrity guests. Both series are even the same length: eight episodes. When Meghan's first episode was shown, it prompted withering complaints that she had copied Pamela's winning formula. 'So similar it's freaky,' said one reviewer, while others branded Meghan's series 'inauthentic' and 'copycat'. More charitable observers might put this down to coincidence, as neither show seems to deviate from the wholesome template of many an aspirational cookery program. However, while Markle filmed her series last summer, with the first trailer making its debut in January, Anderson's was commissioned back in February 2023 by Canadian broadcaster Flavour Network. And its trailer has been available for all to see since last October. Last month it was claimed Markle and Prince Harry's hopes of a new Netflix deal are 'dead' after their two most recent shows flopped. Meghan's lifestyle show failed to break into Netflix 's top 300 programs for the first half of 2025 and was even thrashed by multiple seasons of Suits. A second season of With Love, Meghan, was announced by the Duchess herself as the first season came out in March this year as part of the couple's $100million deal with the streaming giant, which expires this year.
