When Rajiv Rai Was Attacked Rajiv Rai recalled the time when he was attacked in his office in 1997. The director said that he was attacked by a bunch of men with guns and bullets. However, he was not very comfortable talking about the same. On leaving the country due to threats, Rajiv Rai said, 'I left because of pressure. My father was not well. I had to take care of him. I could not bear his death. I thought if I get shot then who will take care of him. My son was also not well. He is autistic and I had to teach him. There were a lot of threats. So I had a lot of reasons. I thought I should take a decision.'
