Shoppers race to buy Apple Watch as it drops from £419 down to £155

Daily Record17-07-2025
While this smartwatch was released in 2021, it is still compatible with Apple's flagship devices.
When it comes to technology, Apple is one the leading brands on the market. Well known for their iPhones and iPads, many loyal fans want to complete the set by also purchasing an Apple Watch which can seamlessly be connected to the devices.
However, for those wanting the latest edition to hit the market with the toughest case for added durability, shoppers will need to spend a whopping £799 on the Apple Watch Series 10 GPS with a titanium case.
While this hefty price tag may put some shoppers off, those who are happy to buy an older or refurbished model will be able to find some cracking bargains online. One stand out deal we found was on the Apple Watch Series 7 through Wowcher.
Cut down from £419.99, savvy shoppers can now snap up this smartwatch for £155. Launched in 2021, the series 7 watch is still worn by thousands of Apple fans across the world as it is still compatible with the tech brand's flagship smartphones, reports the Manchester Evening News.
In comparison to the older series 6 watch, this device boasts a larger display and a faster charging time. Additionally, the series 7 is also equipped with the modern design language as the most recent device to hit the shelves, as well as all-day battery life.

Product Description
While the series 7 was priced at £429 when it was launched, shoppers would be buying a refurbished model which comes with a much more budget friendly price tag. This means the watch has been restored by a professional due to its previous use, but the only difference shoppers should see is some cosmetic wear and tear.
Equipped with a variety of sensors to help track your health data and workouts, this smartwatch will be able to notify you if your heart rate has become irregular. On top of this, the watch is equipped with a GPS to help track your location whether you are out for a cycle or run.
For those wanting something with a later launch date and to be delivered new, Amazon is selling the Apple Watch SE (2nd Gen) for £209 (RRP £219). Available with a variety of watch straps, this smartwatch lets you stay connected with those around you while also keeping tabs on your fitness.
Alternatively, for those who want to try out the newest Android smart watch, the Samsung Galaxy Watch8 is currently available to pre-order off Argos for £319. If shoppers choose to buy through Argos they will be able to redeem a Duo Wireless Charger and a Hybrid Band for free.
The Apple Watch Series 7 has been refurbished through IncTablet, which currently has a 4.5 star rating from previous customers on Trustpilot. And dozens of shoppers have already snapped up the Wowcher deal.
One reviewer said: "IncTablet were fantastic throughout all of the transactions. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for good products and excellent service."
With another customer adding: "Just bought a used Apple iPad Pro from these guys, and what a great experience. Super competitive price, next-day despatch and the iPad was in pristine condition. Even came with a brand new charging cable. Can't praise them enough."
A third shopper also said: "Minor fault with my Apple Watch delivered, advice was given in a timely manner to help resolve the issue. When the issue couldn't be resolved a quick turnaround for a replacement device being sent out. 10/10 customer service."
However, some shoppers weren't pleased with the quality of their device but noted that a resolution was quickly found. One person explained: "When my iPad arrived on December 4th (a surprise gift for my son) the quality of the screen was unacceptable to me, as it had way too many scratches which I was not expecting.
"However when I complained to the company IncTablet, they responded quickly that very same day and have apologised, offering to replace the iPad for a better one."

What is Google's AI Mode? How to use new tool in UK

The new artificial intelligence-powered tool is said to revolutionise the traditional online search, according to Google. AI Mode will start to appear as a tab on the Google Search results page and in the Google app for Android and Apple smartphones from Tuesday (July 29), and will be available to all UK users over the next few days. But what exactly is AI Mode and how can you use it? Let's find out. Our most powerful AI search is now rolling out in the UK 🇬🇧 AI Mode in Google Search expands on AI Overviews and allows you to go even deeper through follow-up questions and helpful links to the web. Try it today! Learn more → The function was launched in the US at the end of May, followed by India earlier in July, and comes in addition to Google's AI Overview, which is now built into its searches. Hailed as its most 'powerful AI search to date', it allows users to ask lengthy and complicated questions, as well as follow-ups. The tool is powered by Google's latest AI model, Gemini 2.5, and allows users to ask nuanced questions that would have previously required multiple searches. The new search works by breaking down questions into sub-topics and sending out a range of queries on behalf of users. It will also allow so-called multimodal searches, either by text, voice or pictures. Hema Budaraju, Google's vice president of product management for search, told the PA news agency it heralds a 'major shift' in the way people are using online searches, with questions now becoming longer and more complex. In a blog announcing the launch, Ms Budaraju said: 'AI Mode is a new, intuitive way to address your most complex, multi-part questions and follow-ups, and satisfy your curiosity in a richer way.' She added: 'AI Mode is particularly helpful for exploratory questions and for more complicated tasks like comparing products, planning a trip or understanding complex how-tos. 'In fact, we've found that early users of AI Mode are asking questions that are two or three times the length of traditional search queries.' Meanwhile, AI Mode offers a conversational, chat-like interface that replaces the standard results page with more in-depth breakdowns of search queries.
