Video: Tractor smashes into homes after drug driver runs red light
Matthew Cumpsty, 52, of Oldfield Drive, Great Boughton, drove a Mercedes E-Class through a red light into the path of a JCB tractor, Cheshire Police said.
The impact of the crash caused the tractor to veer off the road into a series of homes in Green Lane, leaving a trail of destruction.
Two houses suffered serious structural damage.
There were no reports of injuries.
Cumpsty appeared at Chester Crown Court on Tuesday (15 July) where he was handed a 12-month community order including 200 hours community service.
He was also ordered to pay £85 costs and a £114 surcharge and received a 16-month driving ban.
He had earlier pleaded guilty to drug-driving and dangerous driving.

Moments later, the Ibiza returned, drove directly at the victim and collided with him after mounting the man suffered a broken leg and the two offenders drove off, police arrived at the scene and discovered the victim lying on the floor and gathered details about the car and vehicle was then spotted in Bulwell and followed by officers for a short period before it came to a stop and Upton and Marriott were of Nottingham Road, New Basford, Nottingham, pleaded guilty to affray and was sentenced to 15 months in jail, suspended for 22 months at Nottingham Crown Court on Thursday. Det Con Amelia Hicklin added: "What started as an altercation outside a pub ended with Upton driving a car directly at the victim."The vehicle was travelling at significant speed and the impact could easily have resulted in more serious injuries."

Wimbledon schoolgirls' death crash suspect re-interviewed by Met
