Kochi: Opposition leader V D Satheesan has demanded a detailed investigation to unravel the mystery behind the financial dealings of ministers with controversial businessman in London, Rajesh Krishna.
Satheesan told reporters that neither Krishna nor
CPM
functionaries have denied the allegations that money was given by the controversial company, Kingdom Security Services, set up in Chennai to channel funds. The allegations involve financial crimes by ministers and others, including hawala and reverse hawala transactions.
"No CPM leader has responded yet to the leaked letter containing serious allegations against the party functionaries.
The charges are primarily against the son of CPM state secretary M V Govindan, who has also not responded. Krishna was present with the chief minister during a trip to London. What was his significance there? What is his connection to the Pravasi Chit Fund? Why did he send money to CPM leaders' accounts after forming a company in Chennai?" he asked.
Satheesan said that Muhammad Sharshad, who approached the CPM brass with a complaint, has already raised allegations of fraud in govt schemes.

New Delhi: A key meeting of the Group of Ministers (GoM) on GST rate rationalisation on Thursday ended with state finance minister accepting the Centre's plan to reduce the number of tax slabs. Ahead of Bengal visit, PM Modi says Centre committed to development of Kolkata
Kolkata: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to inaugurate three new metro services in Kolkata on Friday and take a metro ride from Jessore Road Metro station to Jai Hind Bimanbandar (Airport) Metro station. The Prime Minister is also scheduled to attend a government programme in this regard, along with a public meeting in Dum Dum Central Jail Ground. Taking to his X account, PM Modi on Thursday said, "It is always a delight to be among the people of Kolkata, a city whose development we are greatly committed to. Tomorrow's programmes in the city are mainly focussed on connectivity. The metro services, which will be flagged off, include Noapara–Jai Hind Bimanbandar, Sealdah–Esplanade and Beleghata–Hemanta Mukhopadhyay routes. Connectivity to and from the airport as well as the IT hub areas will be enhanced." PM Modi also said that public anger against the Trinamool Congress-led Bengal government is increasing with each passing day. "I am eager to be among @BJP4Bengal Karyakartas at a rally in Kolkata. It will enhance connectivity between Howrah, surrounding rural areas and Kolkata, saving hours of travel time and giving significant boost to trade, commerce, and tourism in the region.
