Exact moment Prince Harry ‘blew' relationship with Queen

News.com.au2 days ago
Prince Harry allegedly 'blew' his relationship with Queen Elizabeth II shortly before his 2018 wedding to Meghan Markle.
The monarch, who died in 2022 at age 96, felt 'left out' of the Duke of Sussex's wedding plans, according to royal biographer Sally Bedell Smith.
Smith told her Substack readers on Monday that the former military pilot, 40, was 'rude to [Elizabeth] for 10 minutes' in a February 2018 meeting about the nuptials, leaving the queen 'very worried' about the 'besotted and weak' groom.
'The Queen was dismayed that Harry had asked the Archbishop of Canterbury to perform the wedding service in St. George's Chapel without first requesting permission from the Dean of Windsor,' Smith wrote.
Elizabeth was additionally aggrieved that Markle, 43, would not reveal her wedding dress details prior to walking down the aisle, Smith claimed.
She also wrote that Elizabeth was bothered by 'Meghan and [Prince] William and Kate [Middleton] not working well together' leading up to the ceremony.
Smith reportedly received her intel via a phone call from Elizabeth's late cousin, Lady Elizabeth Anson, ahead of her 2020 death.
'We hope but don't quite think she is in love,' Anson told Smith in the February 2019 conversation. 'We think she engineered it all.'
At the time, Anson claimed that Elizabeth said the 'jury was still out' on whether she liked Markle.
As for her relationship with Harry, Elizabeth and her grandson reportedly 'patched things up' in April 2018.
Harry's rep has yet to respond to Page Six's request for comment.
He and the Suits star tied the knot in May 2018 — and reports continue to circulate about tensions leading up to the big day.
In May, biographer Katie Nicholl alleged in The New Royals that Markle 'berated' her wedding caterer so badly over a dish that wasn't vegan or macrobiotic that Elizabeth stepped in.
The queen reportedly said, 'Meghan, in this family we don't speak to people like that.'
Harry hit back at negative reports about his wife over the weekend, saying at the 2025 Nexus Global Summit that she was the 'most trolled person in the world' in 2018.
The couple notably left England in 2020, moved to the United States and quit their royal roles.
They now live in a Montecito, California, mansion with son Archie, 6, and daughter Lilibet, 4.
While the little ones primarily stay out of the spotlight, Markle has shared more frequent photos of them since rejoining Instagram in January.

Kate Beckinsale breaks silence over concerns from fans over her weight loss

Kate Beckinsale addressed her dramatic weight loss after a fan weighed in on her appearance via social media. On Tuesday, the Underworld actress shared a since-deleted post that included several images of herself in bikinis. 'Oh sweetheart, I honestly think you have a problem!!!' one follower wrote in the comments. 'You don't look good. I think you honestly need help.' The star responded, 'Yes I do. I'm going through one of the most deeply painful times of my life. The body keeps the score.' Though Beckinsale, 51, did not elaborate further, she referenced Bessel van der Kolk's best-selling book on trauma, The Body Keeps the Score: Brain, Mind, and Body in the Healing of Trauma. I n a video clip, the actress appeared extremely slim while walking her dog in a pair of daisy dukes, black platform boots and a black bikini top. The actress further hinted at turmoil in the caption of her post, which also included photos of her pets and lookalike daughter Lily Mo Sheen, 26. 'Girls trip with my girls,' Beckinsale wrote. Beckinsale previously clapped back at trolls who insisted she had lost 'too much weight.' In a since-deleted Instagram post from January, one person wrote, 'It's not a criticism, but I think you've lost too much weight lately.' So next time you feel like commenting on someone's body, I suggest you keep it to your f–king self.' Beckinsale was hospitalised with a mystery illness in March 2024, which she later revealed to be due to a hole in her oesophagus. She got candid about her hospital stay via social media in July 2024 while clapping back at a troll commenting on her weight. Meghan Markle forced to issue ‘As Ever' refunds

Meghan Markle was forced to issue a bunch of refunds to frustrated shoppers after yet another website stock error left customers without their $14 apricot spread. The Duchess of Sussex, 43, promised free replacement jars to her loyal buyers — just weeks after her website experienced a similar blunder with its $28 honey. 'Due to high demand, we are unable to fulfil your order of the apricot spread at this time. We are refunding the purchase of this item by the end of this week,' a message from the royal read. The lifestyle company assured customers that they would be 'the first to receive it, free of charge' once stock becomes available. The popular apricot spread, which sold within an hour of it going live, retails for $9 a pop, with the special keepsake packaging on sale for $14. Needless to say, some customers were less than pleased when they were greeted with a 404 error message after entering their card details. 'Just received an email from As Ever, they are unable to fulfil my apricot order but will give me a full refund and a free replacement when it becomes available again,' one person wrote on X. 'I only have a half a jar of my raspberry spread left. It's war tomorrow!!!' Another person wrote on X, 'I hope they fix this. At the minimum comms should be out literally on the day instead of waiting for your product for a while and being disappointed. Not a good customer experience even though the customer service is good after the fact.' However, other shoppers praised Markle's excellent customer service. 'A refund and the product for free when it restocks? That's top tier customer service,' one person wrote on X. While another added on X, 'I don't even want my refund, I just genuinely want Meghan to know she is so loved!' The apricot spread had become a fan-favourite ever since Markle teased it on her Netflix series 'With Love, Meghan.' The spread, which is not called jam due to its lowered sugar content, is manufactured by the Republic of Tea, a US company headquartered in Larkspur, California, with its factory located 2,000 miles away in Illinois. The company also produces Markle's pricey orange blossom honey. The latest As Ever drop included several newbie items, notably the former royal's hotly-awaited Rosé line. The 2023 Napa Valley Rosé launched Tuesday, but only offered customers the chance to purchase either three bottles for $90, six bottles for $159 and 12 bottles for $300. 'This debut rosé marks the beginning of As Ever's thoughtful expansion into wine, with a Méthode Champenoise Napa Valley sparkling wine planned for the near future and additional varietals to follow,' a spokesperson told The Post. The wine range, which is produced by Fairwinds Estate in Napa Valley, saw Markle reportedly spend months developing the blend and conducting taste tests.

Two Spice Girls ‘will not attend Mel B's wedding this weekend after fall out'

Two Spice Girls will not be attending Mel B's wedding this weekend, according to reports. Neither Victoria Beckham or Geri Horner will be among the guests when Scary Spice Melanie Brown ties the knot with Rory McPhee at St Paul's Cathedral in London. The MailOnline claims that Victoria, 51, won't be in the country, so will miss out on the wedding. A source said: 'Victoria has long standing plans out of the country and she simply can't be there. 'She adores Mel, they get on really well despite their paths going in opposite directions. It's a real shame. 'There is no issue between them, they haven't fallen out. It's just one of those things.' Meanwhile Geri is said to be absent because of her tense relationship with Mel. The two women had a pretty big falling out when Mel B revealed that she had an intimate relationship with Geri when the band was starting out. Mel made the confession while she was being interviewed for Piers Morgan's Life Stories in 2019. Geri was stunned and upset by Mel's admission, and even more saddened when Mel allegedly did not issue an apology. The Sun reached out to Mel B's representative, but they declined to comment. Snubbing galore This is not the first time this year that the Spice Girls have been divided. Neither Victoria or Geri attended Mel's 50th birthday either. In May, Mel celebrated the milestone birthday when she threw a big bash in Leeds. Both Emma Bunton and Mel C were in attendance. But despite the supposed tensions between the group, there is hope for a reunion of sorts. Reunion plans The Spice Girls' former manager is in talks for them to reunite as avatars just like ABBA. The Sun revealed in May that Simon Fuller pitched the idea to the band — as he did with the Swedish pop superstars. It would see holograms of Geri, the two Mels, Emma and Victoria playing their biggest hits. Victoria, who was not part of their 2019 tour, was said to have suggested she would agree if the others did.
