Spurs to get new jerseys next season
The San Antonio Spurs have one of the most iconic jerseys in the NBA. They aren't flashy, they aren't bold, but the Silver and Black is synonymous with winning.

The Spurs, according to Basketball Jersey Archive, will get a redesign before next season, joining the Chicago Bulls, Indiana Pacers, New York Knicks, and Los Angeles Lakers.
The Spurs, last season, had four jerseys. Their Association and Icon, which were white and black with a classic "Spurs" across the chest, the "City Editions," with the icy light blue that paid homage to the Hemisphere, and the Statement edition, with a bold "SATX" across the chest and small homages to the Latin American poulation up and down the jersey and shorts.
The expectation is that the Statement addition will be the one replaced, and fans are urging the team to return to the Fiesta colorway of the 1990s that has been featured in recent years.
The Spurs have also been encouraged to go back to the classic black on black from the George Gervin era, which they paid homage to two seasons ago.
Fans would likely prefer to see some Alamo imagery on the jerseys, although the State of Texas does not typically sign off on officially licensed merchandise, preventing the Spurs from leaning into the motif.

With the popularity in recent years of throwbacks and Fiesta colorways, the Spurs are expected to abandon the black "SATX" jerseys and lean into something a bit bolder.

It shouldn't be surprising to see the Oklahoma City Thunder heavily featured in both. The NBA champion will be involved in two of the biggest days of the regular season. The Thunder will host the Houston Rockets for the 2025-26 Opening Night on Tuesday, Oct. 21. As tradition, they will celebrate their NBA championship with a pregame banner drop and ring ceremony. Kevin Durant's attendance across the court gives this matchup some extra juice as it will start the NBC era. The Thunder's second opponent was also revealed on Tuesday morning. They will travel on the road to face the Indiana Pacers on Thursday, Oct. 23. The game will be broadcast on ESPN with a 6:30 p.m. CT tipoff. Of course, this will mark the first time these squads will meet up since the 2025 NBA Finals. The championship series rematch the following season usually attracts eyeballs, but this year might see a low turnout. Tyrese Haliburton will be out as he recovers from a torn Achilles. Either way, it's nice to know who the Thunder will face for their second game. It'll be exciting to see what their full 2025-26 regular season schedule looks like when it's released. They enter next year as a popular pick to repeat as NBA champions.

Yves Bissouma dropped from Tottenham Uefa Super Cup squad as Thomas Frank confirms disciplinary issue
Yves Bissouma has been dropped from Tottenham's squad for the UEFA Super Cup due to disciplinary reasons. Spurs have the opportunity to lift another European trophy in Udine when they face Champions League holders Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday. A 22-man squad was submitted by Spurs for the match which included Bissouma, however Thomas Frank revealed at his pre-match press conference that the midfielder has now been punished for repeatedly being late. "Bissouma has not travelled due to disciplinary reasons," the Spurs boss said. Pressed on what those reasons were, Frank added: "He's been late several times and now this time, the latest time, was one too many. "I think with everything you need to give your players a lot of love. [But] also have demands and also needs to be consequences, and this time there was a consequence for that." Bissouma has started only one pre-season match for Spurs this summer, lining up against Luton last month when the club played two fixtures on the same day. The midfielder's long-term future in north London remains uncertain, having entered the final 12 months of his current contract. Spurs begin their Premier League campaign at home to Burnley on Saturday and Frank provided no guarantee that Bissouma will come straight back into the squad when asked what the midfielder needed to do to repair the relationship. "For me there's been a consequence for this trip," Frank said. "And then I'll follow up when I come home. I park it now because there's a relatively important game for tomorrow."

Rockets learn game times for 2025-26 season opener at Thunder, Christmas at Lakers
Houston's regular-season opener at Oklahoma City tips off at 6:30 p.m. Central on NBC, while the Christmas matchup versus the Lakers tips at 7:00 p.m. on ABC. In morning-news segments with two primary partners (NBC and ABC) under its new broadcast contracts, the NBA released more game dates and times for its upcoming 2025-26 regular season.
