Harry Potter bosses launch search for men with certain feature to play wizards in big-money TV spin off series
The creators of the spin-off shows are seeking blokes with facial hair that stretches 'up to or beyond their waist', with the lucky few expected to play wizards.

They promise anyone fitting the bill will enjoy 'good rates of pay' in return for being in the series, which starts filming this summer in London.
A TV insider said: 'The Harry Potter TV show is literally the most sought-after project for actors, so this is an incredible opportunity.
'All the potential stars have to do is look like the members of ZZ Top, but there actually aren't that many people around who fit the bill.
'That's why the producers have now taken to advertising for applicants to come forward.'
The series, which will be made at Warner Bros Studios in Leavesden, near Watford, already boasts stars in its line-up.
A new Harry has not yet been found, but a staggering 32,000 youngsters have auditioned for the role — meaning casting chiefs have to view between 500 and 1,000 audition tapes a day.
That does not include other main child roles Ron and Hermione.
The show will be made by US telly giant HBO and is expected to release in 2026, but it is not certain which UK network will air it.

A Harry Potter event, that saw celebrities such as Jude Law and Eddie Redmayne attend has been permanently cancelled. Traditionally, hundreds of fans gather in fancy dress at Kings Cross to recreate the scene of students pushing through the wall to the hidden Platform 9 and 3/4 where the Hogwarts Express waits. The Back to Hogwarts tradition, which celebrates the start of each academic year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry every September 1, has previously involved the train service being displayed on departure boards. Last year Warner Brothers Discovery announced the cancellation of the public event and have now confirmed the event will also be cancelled this year. A statement released in July on the Wizarding World website advised fans to stay away from Kings Cross. It read: 'Special Hogwarts notice: alas, we must once again discourage fans from attending King's Cross Station on 1st September, as there will be no countdown or train announcement occurring in 2025. Safety first, folks.' A spokesperson confirmed to The Sun: 'It is the same for this year, in that we won't be hosting the event at the station.' There will however be a screening of the fourth Harry Potter film at Cineworld Leicester Square with actors James and Oliver Phelps hosting a Q&A. Last month, it was revealed the Wightwick Hall steam locomotive is on track for worldwide fame as it has been selected to feature as the Hogwarts Express in the upcoming Harry Potter TV series. The locomotive, which has been beautifully restored over 41 years by volunteers, will transport the wizard from platform 9 and 3/4 at London's King's Cross station to the school of magic. The Wightwick Hall was built in 1948. It travelled 640,000 miles with the Great Western Railway before being withdrawn in 1964 and sold to a scrapyard in Barry, South Wales. In 1978 it was bought for £9,180 by volunteers from Buckinghamshire Railway Centre in Quainton who restored it. The loco is now on long-term loan to the Bluebell Railway in West Sussex. The Wightwick Hall will spend six months a year filming for the HBO series for the next eight years. It will run at the tourist attraction in between shoots. Filming for the latest adaptation of JK Rowling's novels will begin this month and the show is due to air next year. Dominic McLaughlin, 11, has landed the role of Harry Potter while Arabella Stanton, 11, will play Hermione Granger and Alastair Stout, 11, will star as Ron Weasley. In the films, released between 2001 and 2011, the Olton Hall engine – now at the Warner Bros Studio Tour near Watford – starred as the Hogwarts Express. Filming for the series began in May, with cast and crew seen setting up on the Île de Sein off the coast of Brittany, France.

They have now confirmed to The Sun: 'It is the same for this year, in that we won't be hosting the event at the station.' Instead, organisers Wizarding World and Warner Bros Discovery are putting on an online alternative this September 1. Writing on Facebook, fans were hopeful last year was just a blip. They said at the time: 'It's so sad that this was cancelled… nice to have traditions as most things have been ruined these days.' Another added: 'It brings people together.' A third said: 'It was so nice that the station used to actually announce this, such fun. The Potterverse is currently experiencing a boost in popularity with the upcoming Amazon-produced series, which began filming last month. The book series, written by Rowling, began with Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, released in 1997, to huge commercial success. The first film, starring Daniel Radcliffe in the title role, came out in 2001. There are a total of seven books and eight films, ending in 2011. The franchise has since continued to grow exponentially, including the WB studio tour at Leavesden Studios, and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter sections within Universal theme parks in Orlando, Hollywood, Japan and Beijing. More than 23 million passengers started or ended their journey at Kings Cross in 2022, according to Railway Data. A Warner Bros. Discovery spokesperson said: "Similar to last year, we can confirm that there will be no Back to Hogwarts event, announcement, or countdown at Kings Cross Station, and fans should not plan to go there on 1st September. "We have plenty of fun in store for fans celebrating Back to Hogwarts however, both online and in person. Army career Before his appearance on The Traitors, Harry served as a lance corporal with 47 Regiment Royal Artillery (47 Regt RA). He launched his military career at just 15, driven by admiration for his grandfather who had also served in the forces. "My Grandad on my Mother's side was in the Parachute Regiment; he was my idol, and I wanted to make him proud. He taught us about the importance of 'family', how to respect others, and he taught me how to be a gentleman," he said, as reported on the British Army website. Harry enrolled at the Army Foundation College in Harrogate, Yorkshire at 16, where he trained as an aviation technician with the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers.
