The 6-foot-6-inch, 319-pound Campbell is an imposing figure at left tackle who compiled an impressive resume over his collegiate career with the Tigers.
But there are still a fair share of questions about Campbell and his validity as an elite, franchise fixture at the next level.

Campbell was the top-rated offensive tackle in this NFL Draft class.
Campbell's resume with the Tigers speaks for itself — and maps out why the 21-year-old held court as the top tackle prospect in this draft class.
A three-year starter at LSU who won the team's left-tackle spot as a true freshman, the Monroe, La., native opened his collegiate career winning Freshman All-American, Second-Team All-SEC, and Freshman All-SEC honors in 2022.
In 2023, the sophomore was named a team captain while also earning First Team All-SEC honors.
He submitted his best season as a junior in 2024, as the second-year captain was named a consensus All-American, earned First-Team All-SEC honors, and took home the SEC's Jacobs Blocking Trophy.

In total, Campbell allowed only five sacks in 2,553 snaps during his 38 games with the Tigers.
As noted by Patriots.com's
Over those 229 sets — which remove plays like quick throws, screens, and play-action/RPOs that limit the impact of tackles — Campbell allowed zero sacks and just 12 total pressures.

Even though some scouting reports have expressed concerns about Campbell's potential switch to guard in the NFL ranks, Campbell's athleticism, fundamentals, and competitiveness have drawn high grades from several talent evaluators.
'One GM told me he thinks there are similarities in Campbell to Los Angeles Chargers left tackle Rashawn Slater, who was projected by many to be a guard, but proved athletic and technically sound enough to stay at his college position,'
Lackluster arm measurements have raised concerns.
As elite as Campbell's tape and production were at the college level, there are some red flags in his profile when it comes to his capabilities of anchoring an offensive line for the next 10-plus seasons.
And a lot of that talk revolves around his arm length and overall wingspan.
'Apparently to everybody I have T-Rex arms,'
The discourse surrounding Campbell's arm length have dominated discussions about him and his standing as a top-five pick in this draft class.

During the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis, Campbell's arm length measured 32 5/8 inches and his wingspan was recorded at 77 3/8 inches.
Those readings fell below the standard NFL benchmarks of 33 inches and 80 inches for most NFL tackles — further festering doubt that Campbell will be able to hold up against lengthy defensive ends and other potent pass rushers at the next level.
'It's not exhausting, I've heard it since I was 14 years old,' Campbell acknowledged. 'The school I just went to [LSU], they said the same thing. I didn't let it become a problem then, and I'm not going to now.'
Even if Campbell's technique and skillset speaks for itself, he would be considered a bit of an outlier at his size if he dominates at the NFL level.
If Campbell stays at left tackle with New England, his 77 3/8-inch wingspan would be the shortest recorded for an OT at the combine since at least 1999,

Even with those concerning measurables, Mike Vrabel acknowledged at the NFL league meetings in March that the Patriots viewed Campbell as a tackle moving forward.
'I think you have to,'
Campbell fills an immediate need on New England's offensive line.
Even with those potential red flags with Campbell's arm length, it shouldn't come as much of a surprise that New England is rolling the dice by scooping him up at No. 4 overall.
As unflashy as an offensive tackle might be — especially with a top-five pick — it stood as the most pressing need for New England moving forward, especially when it comes to protecting Drake Maye in 2025 and beyond.
New England's offensive line was outright disastrous in 2024, allowing 52 total sacks. Per
The Patriots currently hold the 1st pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. For those wondering what their priorities should be, I submit exhibit A

A lot of that misfortune had to do with New England's revolving door at the tackle position. The Patriots' most utilized tackles last season in Vederian Lowe and Demontrey Jacobs ranked
If
Campbell thrives at the NFL level in New England, both he and veteran pick-up Morgan Moses would replace both Lowe and Jacobs — adding some much-needed stability to a porous area of New England's roster.

Campbell hails from the same hometown as another standout tackle.
Campbell is far from the only standout tackle to hail from the North Louisiana city of Monroe — as former Bengals and Rams All-Pro Andrew Whitworth is also a product of the same town.
It comes as little surprise that Campbell said that he models his game after the fellow Monroe native.
'Any O-lineman out of the 318, that's the guy that you look up to,' Campbell
It didn't take very long for Campbell to chart out a similar path as Whitworth and Robinson, he started playing varsity football as a freshman at Neville High School. During his four-year stint at Neville, he helped the Tigers win four straight district titles.
Campbell developed a reputation as a fiery competitor well before he arrived at Baton Rogue.
During a Class 4A playoff game in 2021, Campbell was ruled out in the first half of that matchup due to a pulled groin. But with Neville trailing, 8-6, at the half, Campbell suited up and played the second half —
He used to play football against high-schoolers … at 5 years old.
Campbell's gutsy performance in the high-school ranks didn't necessarily come as much of a surprise. As he noted in a SiriusXM NFL Radio interview earlier this week, Campbell said that his father — Brian — had him playing against high-school kids … while he was in kindergarten.

'I like the violence,'
'The brotherhood and the camaraderie that comes within that position group is something that I love, too. The bonds that you form in that room is special. Those are probably two of my favorite things. And I love to win.'

One phone call brought Haliburton, Siakam together, turned the Pacers into a contender.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Outside of a handful of interactions in summer workouts, Pacers point guard Tyrese Haliburton didn't know Pascal Siakam very well, when he learned Indiana might trade for the Toronto All-Star a year ago January. Haliburton and Siakam had exchanged pleasantries at Rico Runs — the well-known UCLA-based summer pickup games organized by longtime NBA assistant Rico Hines — but otherwise the pair hadn't often crossed paths. Now, with his front office considering a move to pair him with Siakam, Indiana's emerging franchise face thought it would be a good idea for the two to connect. Stepping out of a dinner during the team's mid-January swing through Atlanta last season, Haliburton talked with Siakam for roughly an hour. That phone call provided the building blocks of a relationship that's anchored the Pacers' run to the NBA Finals 17 months later. Re-live the Pacers unbelievable run to the 2025 NBA Finals with IndyStar's commemorative book 'I wanted to have a conversation, 'Hey, is this something you actually you want to do? Do you want to be here?'' Haliburton said Saturday, recounting the conversation. 'Because I think that the guys who have been a part of the nucleus of this group, we cherish this organization and what we have been able to build here. I think every team, when you ultimately win a championship or play at a high level, there's a trade that happens or you bring in somebody from the outside to be a part of it and you don't want to make the wrong move, right. 'If you go in for Pascal, you want it to be about the right things.' In Siakam, the Pacers were looking for an high-caliber complementary piece to Haliburton. At that point a two-time All-Star, Siakam had also garnered All-NBA second- and third-team nods during his career, and won a title with Toronto in 2019. And in Indiana, Siakam saw the forming momentum of a franchise rallying around a superlative young point guard. The kind of creative ball handler who could score in bunches but create for teammates with equal ease. 'We had a great conversation, and I think we just very much so aligned on wanting to win and that being the emphasis,' Haliburton said. 'I told him that, 'Hey, we could really play well together. I think I could get you the ball in space and allow you to do what you do.' He preached that there's many things that he could do to help me succeed.' And so it's been in the year and a half since a three-team trade brought Siakam to Indianapolis. After re-signing with the Pacers on a four-year contract worth close to $190 million in July, Siakam turned in the third All-Star season of his career this winter. He led Indiana in points and rebounds per game, and thus far is doing the same in the playoffs. He even narrowly edged Haliburton for Eastern Conference finals MVP, after Indiana dispatched the Knicks in six games. Together, their adaptable skillsets embody a team whose versatility has become one of its greatest strengths. These Pacers can play big or small, defend well, run the floor and find their offense all over it. Trading for Haliburton handed Indiana a franchise cornerstone around which it could build a winner. Siakam became the final, crucial piece to that puzzle. Together, they have positioned the Pacers as an NBA title contender for the first time in a quarter century, all of it starting with one forthright phone call between two men crucial to making it possible. 'The biggest thing that I can respect about him is just his work ethic,' Haliburton said. 'He comes in the gym, I know he's going to be there every day. I know the exact hoop he's going to be on, so I try not to take his hoop. I let him get his one-on-one work in. 'Seeing him work that hard makes me want to work harder, and I think that goes through our group. I love having him as a teammate.'

USMNT falls to Turkey 2-1 in friendly for their 3rd consecutive loss

EAST HARTFORD, Conn. — Turkey took advantage of a sloppy defense to beat the United States 2-1 in a rainy friendly on Saturday, dealing the Americans their third straight loss as Arda Güler and Kerem Aktürkoğlu scored in a 2-minute, 20-second span midway through the first half. Jack McGlynn scored 59 seconds in for the U.S., which was missing many regulars as coach Mauricio Pochettino revamped his roster following a dismal performance at the CONCACAF Nations League final four in March. With a year to go before co-hosting the World Cup, the U.S. plays Switzerland on Tuesday at Nashville, Tenn., in another friendly, then opens the CONCACAF Gold Cup against Trinidad and Tobago on June 15. The Americans dropped to 5-4 under Pochettino, who took over after first-round elimination last year's Copa America led the U.S. Soccer Federation to fire coach Gregg Berhalter. They have lost three straight for the second time in a year. Pochettino changed eight starters from the Nations League loss to Canada in March, keeping only left back Max Arfsten, winger Diego Luna and forward Patrick Agyemang. Defender Alex Freeman, a 20-year-old son of former NFL All-Pro receiver Antonio Freeman, started in his U.S. debut. Matt Freese, a starter for Major League Soccer's New York City, made his debut in goal. Matt Turner, the usual starter since 2022, didn't play for Crystal Palace after March 1. McGlynn scored when he ran onto a pass from Malik Tilman, took several touches, cut inside and curled a left-footed shot from just outside the penalty area inside the far post for his second goal in five international appearances. It was the earliest U.S. goal since Shaq Moore scored 20 seconds in against Canada during the 2021 CONCACAF Gold Cup. Turkey tied it in the 24th minute when Freese tapped the ball to Johnny Cardoso, whose pass ricocheted off a leg and past Freese for Güler's fifth international goal. Then in the 27th, Miles Robinson tried to clear Oğuz Aydın's shot and the ball went to Aktürkoğlu, who one-timed a bouncing shot past Freese for his 12th international goal and sixth in eight games. Turkey goalkeeper Berke Özer also made his international debut. Preparing for the start of its World Cup qualifying campaign in September, Turkey has six wins, one loss and one draw in its last eight games.

MLB Insider Lists Yankees Interim Closer as Potential Trade Candidate

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. When the New York Yankees made a deal to acquire former Milwaukee Brewers closer Devin Williams, many expected him to thrive with his new team. The duo of Williams and Luke Weaver in the backend of New York's bullpen had the potential to be one of the best in the game, but it has not quite gone that way. Williams has a 6.35 ERA and minus-0.6 WAR across 26 games and 22 2/3 innings pitched. His first season in a Yankees uniform has not gone how he envisioned it would and that may be why Mark Feinsand of listed Williams as a player that needs a change of scenery. NEW YORK, NEW YORK - JUNE 03: Devin Williams #38 of the New York Yankees throws a pitch during the ninth inning of the game against the Cleveland Guardians at Yankee Stadium on June 03,... NEW YORK, NEW YORK - JUNE 03: Devin Williams #38 of the New York Yankees throws a pitch during the ninth inning of the game against the Cleveland Guardians at Yankee Stadium on June 03, 2025 in New York City. More"At first glance, trading the two-time All-Star reliever after acquiring him this winter seems like a crazy idea, but Williams has never seemed comfortable since joining the Yankees during the offseason," Feinsand wrote. "There was the facial hair issue during spring training, then a rocky start (10.00 ERA in his first 10 appearances) that cost him the closer's job before the end of April." Feinsand predicts that when New York's current closer Luke Weaver returns from the injured list, Williams' days in a Yankees uniform could be numbered. "He's been better during the past month (2.45 ERA in 12 appearances), but Williams will be a free agent after the season and seems unlikely to return to the Yankees in 2026," he wrote. "With Luke Weaver firmly entrenched as the closer (at least once he returns from the IL in a month or so), New York could look to move Williams later in July to get a return for him rather than watching him walk as a free agent." If New York decides to move off Williams when Weaver returns, teams such as the Philadelphia Phillies, Chicago Cubs and St. Louis Cardinals could use relief pitching help.
