Teacher killed in Myvi-lorry crash in Maran, Pahang
Maran district police chief, Superintendent Wong Kim Wai, said the incident occurred at around 9.30am when the 28-year-old victim, Nurfarah Izyan Ismail, was on her way home to Sungai Gau, Temerloh, from Sekolah Menengah Agama Al-Basriah in Jerantut, Kosmo reported.
Her vehicle is believed to have lost control and veered into the opposite lane before crashing into an Isuzu lorry carrying a drilling machine.
'As a result of the crash, the victim sustained injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene,' Wong said.
He added that the lorry driver and two front-seat passengers suffered injuries, while the rear passenger escaped unharmed.
Nurfarah's body was sent to Hospital Jengka for a post-mortem, while the injured individuals received treatment at the same hospital.
The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987, and investigations are ongoing.
Preliminary findings revealed that the accident occurred at a slight bend. Weather conditions were reportedly clear, but the road surface was wet from earlier rain.

Elderly motorcyclist killed in rear-end crash in Sarikei
Police at the accident scene at Jalan Nyelong By-Pass this morning. SARIKEI (July 26): A 70-year-old man was killed after the motorcycle he was riding was rear-ended by a pickup truck along Jalan Nyelong By-pass here early this morning. Sarikei police chief, Superintendent Aswandy Anis, said the fatal crash occurred around 6am while the victim was travelling from Meradong towards Sarikei. 'Initial investigation indicates that the motorcycle was hit from behind by a pickup driven by a 55-year-old man,' he said in a statement today. The victim sustained serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel from Sarikei Hospital. 'His body has since been taken to the hospital for further action, while the pickup driver escaped unhurt,' said Aswandy. He said the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for causing death by reckless or dangerous driving. Another fatal fall: Motorcyclist killed after being thrown off Dash highway
KUALA LUMPUR: A 23-year-old man was killed after his motorcycle skidded and plunged off a flyover along the Damansara-Shah Alam Elevated Expressway (Dash) on Thursday. Shah Alam police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim said initial investigations revealed that the motorcycle crashed into a divider before the rider was flung off the flyover — falling approximately 21m onto a grassy area along Persiaran Pulau Angsa. He said the victim, who worked as IT support staff at a private company, is believed to have lost control while navigating a bend at the 1/B 0.5 exit of the Dash Highway about 4.45pm. "The impact caused severe injuries to his head and legs, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. "The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987," he said in a statement today. Police are urging witnesses or members of the public with information to come forward and contact Investigating Officer Inspector Nur Iqmal Maisarah Binti Azman at 012-2836851. This is the second fatal incident reported on the same highway this year. On Feb 26, a woman was killed after being thrown off the Dash highway in an accident. Initial investigations revealed that she fell from a height of between 30m and 35m.
