RCB's IPL records at Narendra Modi Stadium: How have Bengaluru performed in Ahmedabad? Complete details
The 18th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 will have a new champion when Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) square off at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Tuesday (June 3). RCB have made it to their fourth IPL final, while Punjab Kings secured their second appearance in the title clash with a thrilling victory over a spirited Mumbai Indians (MI) in IPL 2025 Qualifier 2 on June 1.
RCB have been dominant in IPL 2025 under new captain Rajat Patidar. While Virat Kohli and Phil Salt have handled things at the top, other players have also contributed to securing their fourth IPL final berth. Opposition Result Year Rajasthan Royals Won 2015 Delhi Capitals Won 2021 Punjab Kings Lost 2021 Rajasthan Royals Lost 2022 Gujarat Titans Won 2024 Rajasthan Royals Lost 2024
However, the Bengaluru-based franchise had a mixed bag at the world's largest cricket stadium, with a 3-3 win-loss record in six matches in the last 10 years. RCB first played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in 2015 before returning again at the venue six years later.
What is more concerning for RCB is the fact that they were able to win just one match in the last four outings at the venue. While RCB's past numbers do not favour them in Ahmedabad, their current form speaks volumes with an ability to turn the tables when it matters the most.
RCB have played three IPL finals before, losing on all three occasions in 2009 (lost to Deccan Chargers), 2011 (lost to Chennai Super Kings) and 2016 (lost to Sunrisers Hyderabad). RCB will be hoping to be fourth-time lucky on Tuesday.

A day after 11 stampede deaths in Bengaluru during the celebration of Royal Challengers Bengaluru's victory in the IPL final, Hyderabad Police Commissioner C.V. Anand took to social media to post a 'what if' scenario. The trigger was the frenzied celebrations late into the night across parts of Hyderabad as soon as the RCB won the match. Large crowds gathered on the NTR Marg stretch, Tank Bund, and Necklace Road, prompting a swift police response after the situation turned chaotic. 'What if there were some deaths in Hyderabad too? Can anyone expect celebrations for RCB in Hyderabad city?' wrote Mr. Anand on X (formerly Twitter). Watching and hearing about the stampede in Bangalore made me wonder where we are going ! Traffic came to a standstill in multiple directions and instances of hooliganism were reported. Police rushed additional forces and carried out a lathi-charge to disperse the crowd,' shared Mr Anand. ' He articulated how impromptu celebrations triggered and choreographed by social media for the unlikeliest causes could be dangerous. 'This is not a national team winning the World Cup ! It's a mere franchise called RCB which works on commercial lines and does not have a single Hyderabad player in it !? It's not even a #Hyderabad based team,' wrote Mr. Anand. 'But with the social media playing a huge role across the country and the globe, perhaps police has to be alert for everyone and everything in future! Is it humanely possible to do so,' he concluded his post on X.
