UAE Launches Future 50 Initiative to Boost Innovation and Economic Growth

H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, has launched the 'UAE Future 50' initiative, spotlighting 50 cutting-edge Emirati startups driving the country's innovation and economic diversification efforts.
The initiative, developed by the Government Development and the Future Office in collaboration with the Ministry of Economy, is part of the broader Riyada entrepreneurship ecosystem. It highlights ventures across 15 strategic sectors including fintech, healthtech, edtech, space, sustainability, smart mobility, and the creative industries.
Sheikh Hamdan reaffirmed the UAE leadership's commitment to supporting national entrepreneurs and fostering a startup-friendly environment. He emphasized the role of Emirati innovators in shaping future industries and enhancing the UAE's global competitiveness, aligning with the long-term 'We the UAE 2031' vision.
The launch event gathered government officials, business leaders, investors, and entrepreneurs, showcasing the selected startups and their contributions to the future economy. Emirati entrepreneur Faisal Belhoul delivered a keynote speech, underlining the importance of ambition, resilience, and innovation in entrepreneurship.
Minister of State for Government Development and the Future Ohood bint Khalfan Al Roumi called the initiative a testament to the UAE's global leadership in future readiness. She highlighted its role in positioning national talent at the forefront of transformative sectors.
Undersecretary of the Ministry of Economy Abdullah Al Saleh added that the initiative will accelerate sustainable economic growth by empowering local talent and supporting ventures with high potential.
Building on the success of the Future 100 programme, UAE Future 50 aims to nurture a thriving innovation ecosystem and inspire a new generation of entrepreneurs, reinforcing the nation's vision for a diversified and future-ready economy.

The 2025 edition, taking place at the Koelnmesse exhibition centre is expected to attract record attendance following the success of last year's edition, welcoming 335,000 visitors from 122 countries. The Dubai Programme for Gaming 2033 (DPG33) is set to host the Middle East's first-ever government pavilion at Gamescom 2025, the gaming event, taking place in Cologne, Germany, from August 20-24. Marking a historic milestone for the region's gaming sector, the pavilion highlights Dubai's commitment to becoming one of the world's top 10 global gaming hubs by 2033. The DPG33 pavilion will showcase the city's talent pool, as well as its facilities and infrastructure for game designers, developers, entrepreneurs and production companies. Representing the Dubai government at the pavilion are the Dubai Future Foundation (DFF), the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) and the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC). Strategic Collaboration aims to enhance access to housing finance solutions supported by the Government of Abu Dhabi Abu Dhabi, UAE – Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank PJSC (ADIB), a leading Islamic financial institution in the UAE, has signed an agreement with the Abu Dhabi Housing Authority (ADHA) to provide top-up home financing solutions to UAE nationals. The partnership reflects a joint commitment to expanding affordable top up housing finance and supporting the development of sustainable communities in line with the Abu Dhabi government's broader social objectives. The agreement allows eligible Emirati beneficiaries to apply for a top-up finance on their housing loan issued by the Abu Dhabi Housing Authority, a program supported by the Abu Dhabi Government. Through this agreement, the Abu Dhabi government aims to extend the support by offering top up financing solutions subsidized by 50% of the profit of the finance, enabling beneficiaries to secure homes that better meet their evolving family needs and lifestyle aspirations. The agreement was signed during a ceremony attended by H.E. Hamad Hareb Al Muhairi, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Housing Authority, and Mohamed Abdelbary, Group Chief Executive Officer at ADIB. Under this agreement, citizens who have received loans for purchasing or building a home from the Abu Dhabi Housing Authority, and whose monthly income exceeds AED 30,000, will be eligible to obtain additional financing of up to AED 500,000. The repayment period can extend up to 25 years, in accordance with the regulations of the Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates and in compliance with Islamic Sharia principles. The Government of Abu Dhabi will cover 50% of the profit and Murabaha charges associated with this financing. Commenting on this partnership, H.E. Hamad Hareb Al Muhairi, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Housing Authority, said: ' This agreement with Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank reflects the Abu Dhabi Housing Authority's commitment to providing accessible financing solutions that support citizens' aspirations of owning suitable homes. It also contributes to enhancing family stability and quality of life for Emirati families. At the Authority, we are working to expand collaboration with private sector institutions to enable citizens to access flexible financing options that align with their needs and help realize their aspirations.'
