Signor Tortoni has more to give but trainer Ron Quinton isn't sure when punters will see what he knows.
The talented and imposing son of Too Darn Hot will line up on Saturday in The Agency Real Estate 3YO Benchmark 72 Handicap (1300m) at Royal Randwick.
Signor Tortoni is a veteran of just six starts, winning his past two, but Quinton knows there's more under the hood than the gelding has shown despite winning or finishing second on five occasions.

'He's a horse I think we are still to see the best of,' Quinton said.
'From the first time I galloped him he's shown me good ability, trackwork and trials, he's never disappointed.
'In his gallops he can rip off a sectional like nothing else. The times he runs his last furlong only decent horses run.'
Signor Tortoni has started favourite in his past four starts, beaten into second at $2.30 and $1.35 before winning at $1.14 and $1.65 last time out at Canterbury over 1200m.

'His racetrack performances have always been sound but when he can do at home tells me he's capable of more,' Quinton said.
'Jason (Collett) said the other day when he got up outside the leader he just wanted to idle and didn't know how to put the horse away.
'I do think he's going to appreciate getting back onto a big track like Randwick on Saturday.
'He's still learning he craft. When the penny drops, it won't surprise me one bit if he really made a statement.
'I hope that is Saturday but I can't be sure.'

Meanwhile, the Hall of Famer will also saddle up Rantan for his long time clients, the Gall family of I Am Invincible fame.
Rantan is a three-year-old daughter of the owners' super stallion and she has a habit of finding misfortune in races.
Rantan contests the ATC Thank You Owners Benchmark 72 Handicap (1100m).
'She's not easy to ride and doesn't help herself,' Quinton said.
'You've got to try to get her to travel smoothly, to give the chance to finish off.
'If Josh (Parr) can find her clear air, she is capable of being in the finish.'

Jockey Martin Harley keen to resume Cool Archie partnership

Don't miss out on the headlines from Horse Racing. Followed categories will be added to My News. A rejuvenated Martin Harley is hoping that gun colt Cool Archie can put him on the map in the same way that mighty mare Winx defined the career of fellow jockey Hugh Bowman. Irish hoop Harley returned to Brisbane on Saturday night after a much-needed holiday back home where he celebrated his epic Group 1 JJ Atkins (1600m) victory on Cool Archie at Eagle Farm last month with family and friends. Of course, Harley doesn't expect the Chris and Corey Munce-trained colt to win a world-record 33 consecutive races like the legendary Winx, but he knows that a quality horse like Cool Archie comes along once in a blue moon. Winx had six different riders during her illustrious career that netted more than $26m in prizemoney before her retirement in April 2019, but she will forever be associated with Bowman and champion Sydney trainer Chris Waller. • PUNT LIKE A PRO: Become a Racenet iQ member and get expert tips – with fully transparent return on investment statistics – from Racenet's team of professional punters at our Pro Tips section. SUBSCRIBE NOW! Harley's JJ Atkins victory – which broke a 10-year drought since his last Group 1 – was just reward for his hard work, dedication and persistence after overcoming a potentially career-threatening broken neck suffered in a sickening mid-week race fall in 2023. 'The real exciting thing about having a serious injury two years ago to even being not sure if I'd ride again and then for him to do what he did and put me back on the Group 1 map, in a way he certainly has changed my life in different avenues,' Harley said. 'A lot of jockeys can win if they get the right animal but when you stumble across a horse like that, it could be real life-changing moving forward. 'Look at the Winx story regarding Hugh Bowman. And I'm not saying it'll be like that but he could be an Everest horse and (owner) Max Whitby obviously has a slot. 'There could be serious potential going forward so I'll keep my fingers crossed and we'll take it from there. To live the dream like that would be unbelievable.' • Beriman's appeal for concussion protocols to be strengthened Whitby has declared that Cool Archie should be a shoo-in for Australian Two Year Old of the Year honours during a gala ceremony in Brisbane on August 31. 'I would definitely agree and not just because I've been riding him,' Harley said. 'For a horse to go from a maiden to a Group 1 winner in the space of two months - over all different distances and kinds of tracks - he has conquered more than any other two-year-old in Australia this year.' The father-and-son Munce partnership has said that Cool Archie would be spelled for the spring and set for next autumn's $4m Group 1 Doncaster Mile (1600m) at Randwick. It comes after a gruelling winter campaign in which the colt embarked on an incredible five-race winning streak in all conditions. Looking at the bigger picture, the affable Irishman hopes to travel interstate this spring carnival for a few feature races after proving he can handle the pressure of riding in majors. 'Sydney and Melbourne are tough, there are a lot of good jockeys there, but I'll be putting my hand up for a few rides down south if I can get them,' he said. 'You can get brought back to earth pretty quickly in this game but we showed them we can score at the top level and can get the job done in high-pressure races. 'But I'm definitely not getting too far ahead of myself. I had five Group 1 winners that came pretty quick and then it took another 10 years to crack it for my other one (in the JJ Atkins).' 'I went into the jockeys' room that day and I can honestly tell you, there wasn't one jockey who begrudged me the win,' he said. 'They were that happy for me and that made me even more proud.' ‘He's got some ability': Trainer Colvin's 2025 Kosciuszko hope Cambar ready to rip at Royal Randwick on Saturday

Wagga trainer Gary Colvin will be at Rosehill Gardens on Saturday with his 2022 Country Championships Final winner Another One and his 2025 Kosciuszko hopeful Cambar both in action. While he's a winner of nine races and more than $1 million, Another One hasn't saluted since capturing the Wodonga Cup in November 2023. His two winter runs have both been below what is considered his usual fare, finishing down the order at Randwick and Flemington during the month of June. 'We've sorted a few things out with him and I really expect a big improvement from him,'' Colvin says. 'It's a pretty hard race that he's in but we've got to run him in them and I just want to sort of see how he is going.' • PUNT LIKE A PRO: Become a Racenet iQ member and get expert tips – with fully transparent return on investment statistics – from Racenet's team of professional punters at our Pro Tips section. The Kosciuszko market could be in for a minor, or even major adjustment, depending on what Colvin's highly regarded Pierata son, Cambar, can deliver at his return to racing in Saturday's TAB Highway. 'I think he's got some ability,'' Colvin said. 'If he comes up to the mark where I think he will, I think he will definitely be looking at him for the Kosciuszko. 'He just had shin-soreness last time but he is back and going really well. 'I thought his trial at Albury was very good.' Cambar takes the TAB Highway in a total thriller, and remains unbeaten! 😮 @aus_turf_club | @clarkyhk — SKY Racing (@SkyRacingAU) November 30, 2024 Colvin has another potential star of the 2025/26 season kicking off on day two of the new season, namely Party Boss, who turns three on Friday. 'I've got Party Boss in at Kembla,'' the trainer said. 'He's a nice horse on the way up. I've picked a hard race for him on Saturday but we might as well have a crack at his own age. 'He wasn't disgraced in the Black Opal. He drew wide and just never got in the race. 'He's had a good spell now and he's come back and I hope he goes alright.' Wagga which will be run on a Heavy 10, if at all. 'He's not bad,'' Colvin says. 'There is something about him, he won really easy last week.'
