Whitney Houston Posthumously Makes It To A Huge Milestone
Whitney Houston's music lives on every week on the Billboard charts, as one of her compilations moves enough equivalent units every frame in America to ensure that the superstar's name appears on at least one or two tallies. Interest in the work she left behind remains incredibly high, and as one of her greatest hits sets climbs, it brings her to a milestone that she never reached during her lifetime. I Will Always Love You: The Best of Whitney Houston has become the go-to catch-all for Americans looking to listen to the singer's most familiar tracks. It's a common practice for one album or compilation to rack up the majority of sales and especially streams for late stars, as most people are usually only interested in some of the biggest singles, which can all be gathered together on one project. Whitney Houston's Album Reaches 250 Weeks This week, I Will Always Love You returns to the top 20 on the Top R&B Albums chart and jumps five spaces north to No. 187 on the Billboard 200 – and it's on the latter tally that the landmark is reached. Houston's compilation has now lived on the Billboard 200 — the chart company's list of the most consumed albums, compilations, and EPs in the United States — for 250 weeks. Houston has never seen a title spend so much time on one list. Whitney Houston and The Bodyguard Soundtrack Follow Houston's self-titled project, which arrived in early 1985, collected 176 stays on the Billboard 200. The Bodyguard soundtrack, which accompanied the movie of the same name, is just one frame shy of three full years. I Will Always Love You Never Reached the Top 10 While I Will Always Love You is easily Houston's longest-running title on the Billboard 200, it is far from her highest-rising. The compilation has never cracked the top 10, though it did reach No. 14 in December of 2012, following its release just months after her tragic passing. Eight Top 10s and Four No. 1s Houston has sent eight projects into the top 10 on the Billboard 200, and half of those have spent time at No. 1. That roundup includes The Bodyguard, Whitney Houston, Whitney, and I Look to You – and the first three managed double-digit stays at the summit. Whitney Houston Has Spent Even More Time on the R&B List As I Will Always Love You reaches 250 weeks on the Billboard 200, the compilation extends its stay on the Top R&B Albums list, where it has lived for an additional year. The compilation is up to 317 turns somewhere on the R&B-specific roster.

Morgan Wallen Matches One Of Taylor Swift's Biggest Chart Records
After returning to the top spot on the Billboard 200 last week with I'm the Problem, Morgan Wallen once again leads the all-encompassing ranking of the most consumed albums in America. I'm the Problem scores its milestone tenth turn ruling the competitive roster, and as the most recent full-length from the biggest name in country music keeps at No. 1, Wallen joins a very exclusive club of some of the most successful artists of all time. Morgan Wallen Joins Whitney Houston and Taylor Swift According to Billboard, only six musical acts have seen a trio or more of titles live at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 for 10 weeks or more. Now that I'm the Problem has reached that landmark sum, Wallen is on the same level as Whitney Houston, the Kingston Trio and Taylor Swift. All four stars have seen exactly three different releases live in first place for double-digit frames. Elvis Presley and The Beatles Win Only two musical acts have accomplished the feat with more than three albums. Both Elvis Presley and The Beatles have done so with four separate charting entities. Morgan Wallen's Albums with 10 Weeks at No. 1 I'm the Problem is tied as Wallen's second-longest-running No. 1 on the Billboard 200, with 10 weeks running the show to its credit. I'm the Problem is now matched with Dangerous: The Double Album, which stopped commanding the Billboard 200 after its tenth frame. One Thing at a Time, which preceded I'm the Problem, is one of the longest-ruling projects ever, as it tallied up 19 turns in the spotlight. Morgan Wallen May Not Be Done Ruling Despite the fact that it has now lived on the Billboard 200 for 12 weeks, I'm the Problem easily fends off the competition to hold at No. 1. According to Luminate, in the past tracking period, Wallen's full-length moved 136,000 equivalent units. Its closest competitor, the KPop Demon Hunters soundtrack, shifted just over 100,000. It's highly likely that Wallen will add to his growing sum again, and even if he steps away to allow other projects to lead — as he has recently for both JackBoys 2 by Travis Scott and his group JackBoys, as well as Don't Tap the Glass by Tyler, the Creator — I'm the Problem will have a good shot at returning for the next couple of weeks, if not months.

Kevin Costner's Deep Regrets About 'One True Love' Whitney Houston
When Whitney Houston passed away in February 2012, many fans were surprised to see her Bodyguard co-star, Kevin Costner, conduct the eulogy. They had no idea that the two celebrities still shared such a close bond 20 years after the film came out. When she died at the age of 48, Costner's public statement about her death gave hints about their relationship. 'I let her down. I should have been there, and I wasn't,' he said, via Digital Spy. 'And now for the rest of my life, I will have to live with that pain. I saved her then; I should have saved her now. She was my one true love. I still have 'I Will Always Love You' as my ringtone, and I count it a badge of honor every time I get mocked for it.' More from SheKnows Kate Hudson's 'Soul Reset' Vacation Included This Bestie Who Is Still Mending a Broken Heart He went on to conduct a moving 17-minute eulogy a week after her passing, where Costner's love for Houston was on display. 'You weren't just pretty — you were as beautiful as a woman could be. And people didn't just like you, Whitney — they loved you,' the now-70-year-old star told the mourners. 'I was your pretend bodyguard once, not so long ago, and now you're gone too soon, leaving us with memories of a little girl who stepped bravely in front of this church, in front of the ones that loved you first, in front of the ones that loved you best and loved you the longest.' Behind the scenes, Costner tried to help her with her addiction struggles and her contentious marriage to Bobby Brown. He revealed to Anderson Cooper later in 2012 that he wrote letters of encouragement, but he doesn't know if they ever reached her. 'There are some people that really love Whitney, and a couple of times during the last seven, eight years, they asked me, would I write her a letter?' he recalled to the journalist. 'She would always be close to me; she would always be somebody I appreciated. When someone says, will you write a letter to someone who you know is having trouble…I did,' he added. 'I don't know if those letters were ever read.' Costner reminisced about his love for Houston in June 2024 on the Armchair Expert podcast and how he protected her in her first major acting role. 'I started to guide her,' Costner revealed. 'And I wasn't trying to usurp my director [Mick Jackson], but I had made a promise to her, not to f—king him. I had promised Whitney she'd be good in it. That was my promise to her: she's always gonna love me in the song.' Costner's enduring love for Houston, even in death, is sweet to hear because her relatives trusted him with her.
