HONG KONG: Actress Jacqueline Wong's career faced a significant setback in 2019 when she was embroiled in a cheating scandal with singer Andy Hui, who was, at the time, married to Cantopop icon Sammi Cheng.
The repercussions were immediate and severe: her former agency, TVB, suspended her projects and re-shot her scenes in the 2020 drama Forensic Heroes IV, as reported by Dimsum Daily.
After a four-year hiatus from the entertainment scene, Wong, now 36, made her return in 2023, stepping into the music industry as a singer with her debut single, "Crown Me."
More recently, she released her self-composed song, "The Beauty Of Seeing Through The World," a track in which she candidly addresses the emotional fallout of the scandal.
In a recent interview with Hong Kong media, Wong revealed that it took her years to fully process the incident and channel those intricate emotions into her music.
Despite six years having passed, she confessed that the experience remains indelible.
"I'll never forget it. This incident has already become part of my life experience. It really happened, so there's no need to run from it or fear people bringing it up," she said.
"That's just life. If you make a mistake, you have to take responsibility. I've accepted that it's part of my past."
Meanwhile, Andy Hui, 57, is reportedly planning a reunion concert with his band Big Four in August.
When asked if she had any interest in attending, Wong politely declined, stating she preferred to offer her support from a distance.
"Everyone is working hard to move forward in life, and I wish Andy and his band members well," she said.
Wong also took the opportunity to express her gratitude for her husband, drummer Lai Man Wang, whom she credits as a constant source of encouragement during her challenging times.
The couple tied the knot on 27 October 2023.
"He's my spring, summer, autumn and winter," she said.

The Miss Hong Kong Pageant 2025 (香港小姐競選2025) has officially begun the first round of interviews, kickstarting this year's pageant. As always, fans look forward to seeing the aspiring contestants eyeing the coveted crown. This year, the recruitment process began yesterday (24th June 2025, Tuesday), with hundreds of interview participants gathering at TVB City in Hong Kong for the first round of interviews. The interview will screen the ladies on background, education, and online presence. As shown in photos, most contestants dressed casually, with many opting for short dresses that show off their figures. Online, the reaction to the first batch of hopefuls has been lukewarm. However, there were a few potential contestants that caught media attention. One of whom is 26-year-old Vivian, a student at the Central Academy of Drama. During the interview, she showed up in a dress with a plunging neckline, which highlighted her cleavage. Netizens also noted her striking features, including the mole on her chin. Another noteworthy contestant is 23-year-old Emily Tsoi, who went to the interviews accompanied by her father, a former TVB employee. According to reports, Emily recently graduated from a British university with a degree in dance. She also has some experience in the entertainment industry, given her history as a child star. Photos of her past showed her working alongside renowned stars like Wong Cho-lam and South Korean actress Lee Young-Ae. However, the most shocking participant had to be 24-year-old Angel Chong, who happens to be Hong Kong's youngest district councillor. Her appearance at the Miss HK 2025 interviews sparked mixed reactions, with some wondering if her decision to compete goes against her public duties. Angel has responded to the comments, assuring she'll do her best to balance her work as a councillor with her pageant aspirations. There seems to be a variety of contestants this year. We wish all the hopefuls all the best in their interviews. Was there anyone from the pool of participants who caught your attention?
