School teacher cooks up rape story against colleague, arrested in Thiruvananthapuram
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A woman teacher of an aided school in Thiruvananthapuram has been booked for fabricating a sexual abuse story involving a girl student to settle personal scores with another teacher.
C R Chandralekha, a Hindi teacher at Raja Ravi Varma Higher Secondary School in Kilimanoor, was booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act for falsely claiming that the girl, a Plus I student, was raped and impregnated by a male teacher of the school. As per the Kilimanoor police, Chandralekha had been at loggerheads with the male teacher over issues related to the school management.
While the student was on leave owing to health issues, Chandralekha made up the rape story and circulated it via social media. The girl came to know about the allegation when she rejoined classes. However, by then, the fake story had spread like wildfire, forcing the student to drop out.
'The employees have been divided over the ownership of the school for years. Chandralekha and the male teacher belong to rival factions and she concocted the rape story to tarnish his reputation,' said an officer. Chandralekha also reportedly informed other institutions concerned about the alleged rape.
However, a probe revealed that there was no truth to the allegation. Following this, the Parent Teacher Association of the school filed a complaint with the general education minister, based on which Chandralekha was suspended. The girl's mother has also filed a complaint with the chief minister.

At 12:56 the couple leave on their two wheeler. Sonam's family members don't think the raincoat found by police is hers. "It's 3XL and it is not clear if she was wearing the same raincoat," said Govind, who has been camping in Shillong. Police are examining the footage but the two families feel Meghalaya cops aren't doing enough to find Sonam or trace Raja's killers. He had earlier said that Meghalaya police should "stop looking for a body". "My sister was abducted. We fear she has been trafficked to Bangladesh," he had told TOI. Meghalaya officials say police, SDERF and NDRF teams, have been braving treacherous terrain and harsh weather in their search for Sonam. "Police don't take us to witness the search operation. I am going on my own. They are just completing formalities in the name of searching. For the past three days, they have been searching just 50 metres on either side of a 10km road," he said. "If the body were to be found on a road like that, wouldn't it have come to light in 16 days? Even a five-year-old can understand that. Sohra police are just killing time so that our patience breaks, we leave, and the news stops coming in the media," Govind told TOI. According to local media reports in Meghalaya, a guide in Sohra has told police that he saw Raja and Sonam with three men before the couple went missing. Accused in Pocso case escapes from custody during hospital visit
Ahmedabad: An accused in a Pocso case escaped from police custody while being taken for a medical check-up at LG Hospital in the Maninagar area of the city on Saturday. The accused, identified as Jaysukh Vaghela, fled when a crowd gathered at the hospital following the death of another patient. Taking advantage of the chaos, he managed to slip away unnoticed. According to police, Vaghela was arrested on Thursday along with another accused, Valji Solanki, in connection with a Pocso case registered at Amraiwadi police station on May 31. Two more co-accused, both women, were arrested later. All four were to be produced in a special Pocso court after a mandatory medical check-up. On the day of the escape, the police team — a head constable, a male constable, and a female constable — took the accused to LG Hospital. While one constable went to park the vehicle, the remaining officers escorted the accused inside the trauma ward. During the check-up, a patient in the ward died, leading to an emotional outburst and crowding by relatives. In the commotion, Vaghela quietly moved away from the group and fled. A complaint in this connection was registered at Maninagar police station. A search operation was launched in and around the hospital premises, but the accused remains untraceable. Meanwhile, the remaining three accused have been sent to the jail. Senior officers have taken note of the incident and internal inquiries are underway to assess the lapse. Teams from Amraiwadi police and the City Crime Branch have been mobilised to locate and rearrest the absconding accused.

Juvenile detained for molesting minor girl
1 2 3 Kendrapada: Police detained a 15-year-old boy on Saturday for allegedly molesting a five-year-old girl in Jajpur district. The incident occurred on Friday evening when the minor was alone at her house. Investigation officer Anshumala Das said the accused, who lives in the girl's neighborhood, allegedly entered her house and sexually assaulted her. Hethreatened to kill her if she revealed the incident to anyone. The matter came to light when the girl informed her parents about her ordeal. The girl's mother subsequently filed an FIR at the local police station. "During interrogation, the juvenile confessed to the crime," said Das. The accused has been booked under various sections of BNS, including 329(4) (house trespass), 296 (obscene acts), and 351(3) (death threats). He has also been charged under Section 12 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act, 2012. The accused was produced before the Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) on Saturday, which rejected his bail petition and remanded him to the observation home in Angul. Legal expert Subash Nayak said that under the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015, offenders below 18 years are treated with an emphasis on rehabilitation rather than punishment.
