Apple made a haptic trailer for the F1 movie that only works on iPhones

Engadgeta day ago

The long-anticipated F1 film comes to theaters on June 27 . To celebrate the pending release, Apple has developed a haptic trailer exclusively for iPhones. This leverages the smartphone's Taptic Engine to let people "feel the action" right in the palm of their hands.
Apple promises that viewers will "experience the power of the engines, the rumble of the curbs, and the intensity of every gear shift like never before with responsive vibrations." It's available to stream right now via the Apple TV app, but requires iOS 18.4 or later. Here's a regular trailer that won't make your hands rumble, but is still fun. F1 stars Brad Pitt and was directed by Joseph Kosinski , who made the box office monster Top Gun: Maverick . He also directed the underrated Tron: Legacy , though has no involvement with the upcoming Tron: Ares . Hans Zimmer made the score. Apple spared no expense here.
To that end, the company is extremely bullish regarding the film. It's getting the full theatrical treatment, along with a nationwide IMAX release. Apple also featured the movie prominently at its recent WWDC event and screened it for attendees at the Steve Jobs Theater. To view this content, you'll need to update your privacy settings. Brad Pitt Raises Eyebrows With Perplexing Answer When Asked What Keeps Him Grounded

Brad Pitt had an interesting answer when asked what keeps him grounded. During the F1 premiere in Mexico City on June 9, a reporter for Entertainment Tonight referred to Pitt's May 28 GQ interview — in which he declared that his life currently feels 'fairly contained', 'pretty warm' and 'secure' — and asked him what makes him feel 'so grounded.' While some would assume his immediate response would involve family, the six children he shares with ex-wife Angelina Jolie or his girlfriend of two years Ines de Ramon, he opted instead to share some words of wisdom that he has seemingly followed himself. 'No matter the mistake, you know, you just learn from [it] and move on,' the actor shared. 'It'll lead to the next success.' 'I think [when] you get to my age, you really see how important it is to surround yourself with the people you love, the people that love you back,' he continued. 'Friends, family, and that's it.' 'From there, we get to go make things,' he added. 'So it's a pretty simple, I think, equation.' During Pitt's trek to Mexico City to promote his new action film – in which he plays Sonny Hayes, a former Formula One driver who returns to racing following a career-ending crash — fans couldn't help but rejoice in his decision to rock a buzz cut, reminiscent of his iconic early 2000s look. Pitt, however, waved off a compliment about the nostalgic 'do, seeming more eager to discuss the adrenaline rush he felt from getting behind the wheel while filming the movie, in theaters June 27. 'It's so sublime,' he told ET. 'It's a feeling I've never had.' As Pitt continues to make his rounds to promote F1, his children are keeping busy, too. As Star previously reported, Shiloh, 19, recently debuted a new name — 'Shi Joli', a nod to her famous mother — Zahara, 20, sparked speculation that she's engaged and Pax, 21, was spotted in Los Angeles following a night out at Chateau Marmont. (Pitt and Jolie, 50, also share Maddox, 23, and 16-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne.) It's unclear whether Pitt's relationship with his children following the 2016 incident on a private jet that led to his divorce from Jolie has improved, but an insider told People in June 2024, 'The reminders that he's lost his children is, of course, not easy for Brad. He loves his children and misses them. It's very sad.' Meanwhile, an insider told Star in May that Pitt's romance with de Ramon, 32, is only getting stronger by the day. 'They're an extremely calm couple and not overly intense or high-strung,' the insider said at the time. 'Brad's very happy with Ines, and this even-keeled, go-with-the-flow-type vibe is so refreshing.'

‘In Your Dreams' Teaser: The Search for the Sandman Powers Netflix's New Animated Sibling Fantasy

Netflix dropped the teaser trailer for its animated Oscar-hopeful, 'In Your Dreams' (streaming November 14), the original comedy-fantasy about siblings trying to save their parents' marriage by enlisting the aid of the mythical Sandman. Former Pixar story artist Alex Woo ('WALL-E') directs with Erik Benson, another ex-Pixar story artist ('Toy Story 4'). The film is produced by Netflix Animation and Woo's Kuku Studios, with animation by Sony Pictures Imageworks. The voice cast is led by Cristin Milioti as the mom and Simu Liu as the dad. 'In Your Dreams' finds Stevie (voiced by Jolie Hoang-Rappaport) and her brother Elliot (voiced by Elias Janssen) discovering a magic book, which allows them to enter the wacky realm of their dreams, where the Sandman (Omid Djalili) can grant their wish for the perfect family. Along the way, they encounter Elliot's long-lost sarcastic stuffed giraffe, Baloney Tony (Craig Robinson), zombie breakfast foods, and Nightmara (Gia Carides), the Sandman's rival. He presented footage Thursday at the Annecy Animation Film Festival with production designer Steve Pilcher ('Soul') and VFX supervisor Nicola Lavender ('The Mitchells vs. the Machines'). Accompanying the sumptuous animation of the surreal landscapes are compelling themes of managing dual careers while being caring, nurturing parents, the importance of imagination and not giving up on your dream, and learning to cope with harsh realities as a part of growing up. And be careful what you wish for. At Annecy, Netflex Animation (led by Hannah Minghella, head of Netflix Feature Animation and Family Film) touted sneak peeks of two upcoming animated series, 'Stranger Things: Tales from '85' (from showrunner Eric Robles), and 'Long Story Short' (from 'Bojack Horseman's' Raphael Bob-Waksberg, streaming August 22), as well as the features 'KPop Demon Hunters' (directed by Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans, streaming June 20), the Roald Dahl-adapted 'The Twits' (directed by Phil Johnston, streaming in the fall), and 'Pookoo' (from Skydance Animation and director Nathan Greno, streaming in 2026). In addition, Netflix premiered Genndy Tartakovsky's adult 2D comedy feature, 'Fixed' (streaming August 13). Check out the first teaser for 'In Your Dreams' below.
