Brad Pitt Raises Eyebrows With Perplexing Answer When Asked What Keeps Him Grounded

Yahoo19 hours ago

Brad Pitt had an interesting answer when asked what keeps him grounded.
During the F1 premiere in Mexico City on June 9, a reporter for Entertainment Tonight referred to Pitt's May 28 GQ interview — in which he declared that his life currently feels 'fairly contained', 'pretty warm' and 'secure' — and asked him what makes him feel 'so grounded.'
While some would assume his immediate response would involve family, the six children he shares with ex-wife Angelina Jolie or his girlfriend of two years Ines de Ramon, he opted instead to share some words of wisdom that he has seemingly followed himself.
'No matter the mistake, you know, you just learn from [it] and move on,' the actor shared. 'It'll lead to the next success.'
'I think [when] you get to my age, you really see how important it is to surround yourself with the people you love, the people that love you back,' he continued. 'Friends, family, and that's it.'
'From there, we get to go make things,' he added. 'So it's a pretty simple, I think, equation.'
During Pitt's trek to Mexico City to promote his new action film – in which he plays Sonny Hayes, a former Formula One driver who returns to racing following a career-ending crash — fans couldn't help but rejoice in his decision to rock a buzz cut, reminiscent of his iconic early 2000s look.
Pitt, however, waved off a compliment about the nostalgic 'do, seeming more eager to discuss the adrenaline rush he felt from getting behind the wheel while filming the movie, in theaters June 27. 'It's so sublime,' he told ET. 'It's a feeling I've never had.'
As Pitt continues to make his rounds to promote F1, his children are keeping busy, too.
As Star previously reported, Shiloh, 19, recently debuted a new name — 'Shi Joli', a nod to her famous mother — Zahara, 20, sparked speculation that she's engaged and Pax, 21, was spotted in Los Angeles following a night out at Chateau Marmont. (Pitt and Jolie, 50, also share Maddox, 23, and 16-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne.)
It's unclear whether Pitt's relationship with his children following the 2016 incident on a private jet that led to his divorce from Jolie has improved, but an insider told People in June 2024, 'The reminders that he's lost his children is, of course, not easy for Brad. He loves his children and misses them. It's very sad.'
Meanwhile, an insider told Star in May that Pitt's romance with de Ramon, 32, is only getting stronger by the day. 'They're an extremely calm couple and not overly intense or high-strung,' the insider said at the time. 'Brad's very happy with Ines, and this even-keeled, go-with-the-flow-type vibe is so refreshing.'

John Stamos says he was with Mike Love when they learned of Brian Wilson's death

John Stamos is sharing how he learned of the news of Beach Boys' co-founder Brian Wilson's death. In a brief conversation with Entertainment Tonight while on the red carpet for the Songwriters Hall of Fame gala, Stamos got choked up when he recalled getting a text with the news of Wilson's passing while he was with Wilson's bandmate and cousin, Mike Love. 'Mike and I were together when I got the text, and I had to tell him,' Stamos said through tears. 'Without Brian Wilson, life would be a mistake.' 'I mean, his music has been part of my DNA,' Stamos wrote. 'And the beauty and the happiness and the joy and the optimism and the positivity that I've gotten from their music has made who I am.' 'You know, one of my greatest honors is when someone comes up and says, 'Oh, I got turned on to the Beach Boys because of you and 'Full House,'' Stamos shared. The actor and the band often collaborated via the hit sitcom in the 80s and 90s and continued their relationship over the last several decades. 'It's the greatest gift that I could have given back to them,' Stamos, who will be performing with the Beach Boys at The Town Hall in New York City, continued. 'Tomorrow will be our first show since Brian's gone,' he said, referring to the performance. 'I don't know how we're gonna get through it. You know, 'God Only Knows' starts playing, you know, but we'll get through it, and we have to, you know, for Brian.' 'I think, obviously, the rest of this summer, the rest of the live shows forever, I think will be dedicated to Brian Wilson, and will be a tribute to him.' Wilson's family confirmed the news of his death in a statement shared on X on Wednesday, June 11. Alongside a photo of Wilson, the statement read, 'We are heartbroken to announced (sic) that our beloved father Brian Wilson has passed away. We are at a loss for words right now. 'Please respect our privacy at this time as our family (is) grieving. We realize that we are sharing our grief with the world,' it continued, before the family signed off, writing, 'Love & Mercy.' Wilson made up one-fifth of the popular rock group known as the Beach Boys, which also included his brothers Dennis and Carl Wilson, their cousin, Mike Love, and their friend, Al Jardine. Wilson founded the band in 1961, and the group skyrocketed to fame following the release of their first single 'Surfin'' released that same year.

Bryce Dallas Howard never tried alcohol. Here's how she played drunk in 'Deep Cover'

Bryce Dallas Howard never tried alcohol. Here's how she played drunk in 'Deep Cover' Show Caption Hide Caption 'Superman,' Mission: Impossible,' 'F1' and summer's must-see films USA TODAY film critic Brian Truitt releases his list of summer's must-see films. The highlights include "Superman" and "Mission: Impossible." NEW YORK − Bryce Dallas Howard never sipped alcohol in her life. But that didn't stop her from acting like an alcoholic who needs an intervention in her new crime comedy "Deep Cover" (streaming now on Amazon Prime Video). "I put ice cubes in my mouth because it kind of numbs your mouth," Howard, 44, reveals to USA TODAY of her trick to play drunk. "I also really enunciate a lot, so (the ice) helps to get the slurring going." Howard's other trick? She spins in circles to get dizzy. "That made me sick," Howard's co-star, Nick Mohammed, 44, interjects. "I'd rather get drunk." Join our Watch Party! Sign up to receive USA TODAY's movie and TV recommendations right in your inbox In "Deep Cover," Howard plays Kat, an improv-comedy teacher who is recruited along with two of her students (Mohammed and Orlando Bloom) to infiltrate a criminal gang in London. The actors note that there wasn't much improv in the movie, with the exception of the aforementioned intervention scene. After seeing her out on the town gallivanting with a few shady characters, Kat's friends intervene, unaware that the teacher is actually on a secret mission at the direction of law enforcement. There was one part of Howard's character that hit closer to home: teaching. The filmmaker holds a degree from New York University and taught classes there about the entertainment industry. Howard says she recently moved back to the New York area and is in talks with the university about returning to the classroom. "I could relate to the excitement around seeing other people (learn) and seeing people kind of come alive," Howard says. "But I also had even more empathy for my character because the thing that I teach in, I also do for my living. Whereas with Kat, she was teaching something that she wanted to be doing for her living, but she wasn't really getting a shot at it." Howard wasn't the only actor to partake in debauchery: Mohammed's character Hugh has to snort cocaine during the trio's initial meeting with the gangster Fly (Paddy Considine) to prove that the trio aren't posers. As for any real-life parallels, Mohammed says he has never taken drugs. Something bizarre but unrelated to the movie did happen to him four months ago, though: He almost lost a finger. The actor, best known as Nate Shelley from "Ted Lasso," says he sliced it while trying to remove an avocado pit. Fans of "Ted Lasso" may recall that in Season 3, Mohammed played violin during a scene. The actor learned the instrument when he was a child and performed in his college orchestra. He doesn't break out the violin for "Deep Cover" and says his injury has prevented him from playing. Mohammed explained to his mother, who was a doctor, that he doesn't really have any feeling in the finger. "My mom said, 'That might come back in a year,' " Mohammed recalls of the conversation. "I was like, 'And if it doesn't?' She's like, 'If it doesn't come back in a year, it's not coming back.'" At least in this situation, it doesn't seem as if ice is going to help.

Beyoncé's Daughter Rumi Carter Celebrates Her 8th Birthday Onstage at the Cowboy Carter Tour

Beyoncé's Gemini twins, Rumi and Sir Carter, are celebrating a new milestone. The pop star's two youngest children turn 8 today, and to celebrate, she wished them a happy birthday at last night's Cowboy Carter Tour stop in London at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. During the performance of 'Protector,' the segment of the show where Rumi joins her mom and sister Blue Ivy onstage, Beyoncé told screaming fans, 'Everybody say Happy Birthday, Rumi.' In a video posted on X, Blue, 13, is seen cradling Rumi's chin as the crowd screams. 'Say happy birthday, Sir,' Beyoncé continued. 'Mommy loves you!' Rumi then turned around and gave her mom a big hug. In a recent rare interview with GQ, Beyoncé opened up about being a mom of three. 'Raising three kids isn't easy,' she said. 'The older they get, the more they become their own individuals with unique needs, hobbies, and social lives. My twins are God-sent. Parenting constantly teaches you about yourself. It takes a lot of prayer and patience. I love it. It's grounding and fulfilling.' She added, 'My kids come with me everywhere I go. They come to my office after school, and they are in the studio with me. They are in dance rehearsals. It's natural that they would learn my choreography.' Mrs. Carter and her daughters will perform in London again tomorrow and Monday night before heading to Paris on June 19. There's still time to get tickets. Click here for more.
