'Colin From Accounts' Renewed For Season 3 At Paramount+
Creators Neil Druckmann and Craig Mazin previously told Deadline that they were contemplating up to four total seasons to tell the story laid out across two video games. Season 2 is seven episodes, and the duo sought early on to quell any worry from fans that they would try to wrap up the behemoth that is The Last of Us Part II in such little time.
'It can't be overemphasized how proud HBO is for the outstanding achievement we believe the second season of The Last of Us is,' Francesca Orsi, Executive Vice President, HBO Programming, Head of HBO Drama Series and Films, said in a statement. 'Craig, Neil, Carolyn and the entire executive producer team, cast and crew have delivered a masterful follow-up and we're thrilled to carry the power of Craig and Neil's storytelling into what we know will be an equally moving and extraordinary third season.'
The early renewal is a show of faith for the acclaimed series, though not entirely unexpected, given that the first season performed so well for the network. By the time the Season 1 finale aired, HBO said the season's average audience had surpassed 30M viewers, with the premiere well on its way to 40M. That's after the premiere episode brought in a same-day audience of 4.7M, which at the time was the largest debut after House of the Dragon since Boardwalk Empire launched in 2010. HBO also recently renewed hit The White Lotus for Season 4 ahead of its Season 3 premiere.

'To see The Last of Us brought to life so beautifully and faithfully has been a career highlight for me, and I am grateful for the fans' enthusiastic and overwhelming support,' Druckmann said in a statement Wednesday. 'Much of that success is thanks to my partner in crime, Craig Mazin, our partnership with HBO, and our team at PlayStation Productions. On behalf of everyone at Naughty Dog, our cast, and crew, thank you so much for allowing us this opportunity. We're thrilled to bring you more of The Last of Us!'
Mazin added: 'We approached season two with the goal of creating something we could be proud of. The end results have exceeded even our most ambitious goals, thanks to our continued collaboration with HBO and the impeccable work of our unparalleled cast and crew. We look forward to continuing the story of The Last of Us with Season 3.'
RELATED:
Based on Naughty Dog's award-winning video game, The Last of Us takes place 20 years after modern civilization has been destroyed. Joel, played by Pedro Pascal, a hardened survivor, is hired to smuggle Ellie (Bella Ramsey), a 14-year-old girl, out of an oppressive quarantine zone. What starts as a small job soon becomes a brutal and heartbreaking journey as they both must traverse the U.S. and depend on each other for survival.
Season 2 picks up five years after the events of the first season, Joel and Ellie are drawn into conflict with each other and a world even more dangerous and unpredictable than the one they left behind.
In addition to Pascal and Ramsey, returning cast includes Gabriel Luna and Rutina Wesley. Joining Season 2 are Kaitlyn Dever, Isabela Merced, Young Mazino, Ariela Barer, Tati Gabrielle, Spencer Lord, Danny Ramirez and Jeffrey Wright. Catherine O'Hara also guest stars.
The Last of Us is written and executive produced by Mazin and Druckmann. The series is a co-production with Sony Pictures Television and is also executive produced by Carolyn Strauss, Jacqueline Lesko, Cecil O'Connor, Asad Qizilbash, Carter Swan, and Evan Wells; with writer/co-executive producer Halley Gross. PlayStation Productions, Word Games, Mighty Mint, and Naughty Dog produce.

Tonys 2025 Live Updates: Sarah Snook Wins for Playing 26 Characters in ‘Dorian Gray'
June 8, 2025, 8:13 p.m. ET Image Sarah Snook plays all 26 characters in 'The Picture of Dorian Gray,' scheduled to run through June 29. Credit... Sara Krulwich/The New York Times For her madcap, one-woman take on a stage adaptation of Oscar Wilde's 1891 novel 'The Picture of Dorian Gray,' Sarah Snook is this year's best actress in a play winner. Though she plays 26 roles, she'll get just one Tony statuette. Over the course of the show's two frenetic hours, the actress, 37, best known for her Emmy-winning turn as Logan Roy's girlboss daughter, Shiv, on HBO's dark comedy-drama 'Succession,' plays all the characters, among them a handsome rake, a martini-sipping libertine and a hapless artist. The audience gets a close-up view of Snook on a large, rectangular screen that hangs from the top of the stage as cameras follow her rushing around the stage, de-wigging and re-wigging, and interacting with prerecorded versions of herself. 'It's about concealing and revealing, putting on masks, taking off masks,' Snook, who made her Broadway debut in the show, told The New York Times this spring. 'It's about having your soul be seen.' Snook originally performed the show last year in London's West End, where she won the Olivier Award and where critics praised the production's clever camerawork and Snook's chameleonic, playful embodiment of the various characters. Critics in the United States were more measured: Writing in The Times, Jesse Green praised her 'convincing and compelling' characterizations, yet noted that the copious use of technology left the production feeling 'brittle,' 'often denying the human contact, and contract, that are at the heart of theater's effectiveness.' (Though the production, he noted, was 'technologically spectacular.') Show more

This Chanel Look Made Nico Parker Feel Like the Ultimate Princess
From the big screen to the red carpet, Nico Parker is living the dream. In a brief few years, the actress has starred in several major projects, including Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy, The Last of Us, and, most recently, as Astrid Hofferson in the highly anticipated live-action version of How to Train Your Dragon (based on the hit movie and book of the same name released in 2010 and 2003, respectively). Last night, the BAFTA-nominated actress and Chanel ambassador attended the film's L.A. premiere, stepping out on the red carpet in a gorgeous rose-colored gown fresh off the house's fall/winter 2025 runway, styled by Rebecca Corbin-Murray. When Parker initially saw the look from the show, it was love at first sight. The floor-length dress was accented by a tiered ruffled skirt and delicate bows. She layered a sheer silk shawl over the ensemble, enhancing its ethereal, fairy-tale charm. The fashion didn't stop there. There was also a stunning assortment of Chanel fine jewelry on display that brought out the soft undertones of the blush pink, including two rings and a pair of earrings. The overall vibe exuded a princess-like elegance—precisely what Parker and Corbin-Murray aimed for, and perfectly suited to the fun, fantasy-filled action film. On the carpet, Parker posed alongside her co-star Mason James, who plays her romantic interest, Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III. Below, see how she got ready for her big night.

‘NCIS: Hawai'i' Alum Jason Antoon Shares Clip Of Canceled Show's Vacant Studio Lot
A year after NCIS: Hawai'i ended its three-season run on CBS, the state's film and TV industry continues to suffer a decline in business. Jason Antoon, who played cyber intelligence specialist Ernie Malik on the police procedural spin-off, recently shared a video of the series' vacant and overgrown Hollywood Film Studio, where shows like Lost (2004-'10), Hawaii Five-0 (2010-'20) and Magnum P.I. (2018-'24) also filmed. More from Deadline 'NCIS Hawai'i' Cast Joins Together On The Beach To Celebrate Series 'Rescue HI-Surf' Canceled By Fox After One Season '9-1-1' Eyes Hawaii As Setting For Potential New Spinoff On ABC 'Hawaii Film Studios – Empty and full of weeds,' wrote Antoon, sharing the clip Friday on X. Hawaii is an expensive location that is harder to fit into continuously trimmed TV budgets, especially in linear TV. Cost was among the factors for CBS' decision to cancel NCIS: Hawai'i after three seasons, despite being the #12 most watched non-sports program on broadcast, averaging 7.8 million linear viewers and 10M multi-platform viewers (Live+35). After the cancelation last April, Antoon wrote on Instagram, 'This business is brutal and makes no sense. But we had soooo much fun. Love you all and mahalo.' Hawaii Film Studios – Empty and full of weeds. #NCISHawaii #MagnumPI #Hawaii50 #Lost 😢 — Jason Antoon (@jasonantoon) June 7, 2025 The actor's latest post comes after Fox's Rescue HI-Surf, which also filmed in the Aloha State, was canceled after one season last month. Although CEO Rob Wade said the reason for the decision 'certainly wasn't the locale or the budget,' filming in Hawaii made it one of the network's more expensive dramas, coming in at close to $4 million per episode. Meanwhile, Hawaii was passed over as the locale for the next 9-1-1 spin-off, which is instead filming in Nashville, starring Chris O'Donnell and premiering this fall on ABC. On Friday, Gov. Josh Green, M.D. released an intent-to-veto list, which includes HB796, a bill that would sunset tax credits after five years. 'This bill would have a significant long-term impact on income tax credits across a variety of industries, including film and television, research, and renewable energy,' said Gov. Green of the veto. 'These tax credits are critical to supporting economic development and diversification, particularly within growing and emerging sectors. Categorically sunsetting income tax credits will not only disincentivize future investors from doing business in Hawai'i, but will destabilize existing businesses that currently rely upon these tax credits.
