Kyle Sandilands and Jackie 'O' Henderson come clean on what REALLY happened at the Golden Globes that led to their five-year red carpet ban

Daily Mail20 hours ago

Kyle Sandilands and Jackie 'O' Henderson have revealed the real reason behind their infamous Golden Globes ban.
The radio duo revealed back in 2021 that they were barred for five years from the glittering awards ceremony after 'accidentally' finding themselves on the red carpet in 2010.
However, speaking about the incident on Friday morning's Kyle & Jackie O Show, the pair offered up a different version of events.
Kyle, 54, revealed that their red carpet appearance was not a result of a mix-up but due to the pair's 'confidence'.
'We just walked up and we moved the rope and just walked straight through - with confidence,' he admitted.

Jackie, 50, added: 'Onto the red carpet, mind you. And there's Angelina Jolie, Courteney Cox...'
Newsreader Brooklyn Ross interjected in shock, saying, 'You guys were on the red carpet?'
Jackie then revealed that she wasn't her typically stylish self that day.
'But Brooklyn, I was wearing a tracksuit!' Jackie replied.
'I thought, "When is someone going to kick us off? This is so bizarre, no one is stopping us".'
Kyle then revealed their red carpet invasion lasted 40 minutes before they were eventually ejected from the event.
'But when we did get kicked off, boy did we get ostracised,' Jackie added.
Speaking about the incident in 2021, the pair claimed their red carpet appearance was purely 'accidental'.
Jackie, who admitted she was 'wearing trackpants' at the exclusive Hollywood event, said A-listers like Jennifer Aniston (left) and Courteney Cox (right) were in attendance
Despite only having media passes, they claimed one of the organisers on the night permitted them to walk with the celebrity nominees.
'We were supposed to go to the media pit, but we looked that good that day that the woman goes, "Oh, come with me," rushed us through a door, pushed us out and then all of a sudden we're there next to Entertainment Tonight,' Kyle explained at the time.
'We're on the red carpet. There's Jennifer Aniston. Who else was there? There was everyone.'
Jackie recalled telling Kyle to 'just run with it', even though they had clearly entered the wrong area and were holding microphones.
But it didn't take long for them to get caught out by 'this little Jewish woman' who was in charge of monitoring the red carpet.
Jackie added: 'Boy, was she a bulldog. Jesus, did we get berated. I have never felt so small in all my life!'
Kyle said the diminutive woman had told them, 'You're banned! You're banned forever!'
They were then escorted to the 'worst part' of the media area among the photographers, where the celebrities don't venture.
Despite this setback, Kyle said he was still glad someone at the Globes had thought he and Jackie were good-looking enough to be Hollywood stars.
'We were banned for five years,' he added.

It's usually caused by a viral infection, vocal strain, or irritation of the vocal cords. She added: 'I'm so, SO sorry! 'Please keep hold of your tickets, we're doing our very best to reschedule the dates and will update you very soon on that. 'Thank you for understanding - you know I love you all. However, her record label revealed in 2023 the singer now has her eyes firmly set on cracking the US market. Padam Padam and follow-up album Tension helped turn her fortunes around in America and landed her a Grammy, a second number one on the US Billboard's Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart and a Las Vegas residency. 'I'm anonymous there — which, I must confess, I kind of like.' As well as telling The Express in 2009: 'It doesn't frustrate me [not cracking America]... frustrating being asked about it, the assumption it's something really missing in my career and life.' 'My time is spent more throughout Europe... the U.S.A. has remained at arm's length.' While discussing her plans to crack America Jamie Nelson, SVP of U.K. Recordings at Minogue's label BMG, confirmed to Variety in 2023 the label were 'confident' Padam Padam would do well. 'It's now flipping into an area that's unprecedented,' he said, crediting TikTok and social media for the song's viral success.
