KTR flays Congress over arrests of protesting youth
The BRS leader asked CM A Revanth Reddy, who said that the doors of the Secretariat would always be open during 'Indiramma Rajyam', couldn't he see the hardships of the unemployed? Does Revanth, who called Rahul Gandhi at Ashok Nagar Cross Roads and had a tea party with the unemployed, not remember the job calendar after assuming office? While it is atrocious to arrest unemployed people from many districts across Telangana from coming to Hyderabad to sabotage the Chalo Secretariat program, it is appalling to arrest those who came to the Secretariat today to protest.
KTR said that Revanth, who called Delhi leaders in the name of the Youth Declaration and deceived them, did not issue notifications of 10,000 jobs in a year and a half, which is a blow to the unemployed. The unemployed would never forgive the incompetent Chief Minister who gave appointment orders for 60,000 jobs that had completed the process during the BRS government. The Chief Minister who deceived students by assuring to fulfil all the promises made in the job calendar within a year was sure to face the wrath of the unemployed. The unemployed who have taken up the Chalo Secretariat program cannot be illegally arrested and their throats cannot be choked.
They should be released unconditionally immediately and the Chief Minister should keep his word otherwise, the party would announce a BRS movement on behalf of the lakhs of unemployed in the state and bend the necks of the Revanth government.

"Wanted to revive AJL, no rent enjoyed by Young Indian": Rahul Gandhi's counsel tells Delhi court in National Herald case
New Delhi [India], July 5 (ANI): Young Indian was created to revive Associated Journal Limited (AJL) and not to earn rent, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's counsel told the Rouse Avenue court, which is hearing the National Herald case. 'AJL is freedom-fighting legacy, our purpose is to save it, not to earn rent from its properties. It was founded by Jawaharlal Nehru, Rafi Ahmed Kidwai and other leaders before Independence. Motive was its revival, not to earn rent,' the counsel mentioned. Special judge Vishal Gogne is hearing arguments on the cognizance of prosecution complaint filed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). Senior advocate RS Cheema along with Tarannum Cheema appeared for Rahul Gandhi. Senior advocate Pramod Kumar Dubey also appeared in the matter. The court has listed the matter for hearing on Monday. The court has also sought reply on application moved by Suman Dubey seeking a direction for supply of certain documents including the statement of Motilal Vohra taken by the ED in another related case. At the outset of hearing, Additional Solicitor General (ASG) SV Raju also addressed the court regarding a query on takeover of AJL by Young Indian and disinvestment of Air India by the Centre. He said disinvestment in Air India was done in a transparent way. 'You can't compare Air India deal with the Young Indian deal,' the ASG submitted. He said AICC gave loan to loss making AJL and no prudent person will do it. 'Rs 90 crore loss to AICC is a wrongful loss. It is a result of conspiracy by respondents,' he said. Raju submitted that AICC should have adopted auction to recover the debt and AICC was aware that AJL was a loss making company. There was no transparency in taking the debt of AJL by Young Indian, he said. In response to Raju's submissions, Cheema asked if it is for the ED to decide what AICC's motive and priority are. 'It is incumbent on the court to take a look of complaint of Dr Subramaniam Swamy while taking cognizance of complaint of ED,' Cheema said. He said Motilal Vohra was questioned by the ED at his home in another case related to AJL. 'That case was filed in 2016 and cognizance was taken. ED waited a long time. Vohra passed away. He had knowledge of the deal. His statement was recorded,' the Senior Advocate said. 'A private complaint filed Dr. Subramaniam Swamy was converted into a schedule offence and ED later registered a money laundering case? One of the few exceptions that was made by ED was picking up a private complaint after years. The question is how will the Court respond to this?' Cheema said. Scheduled offence and FIR or statutory complaint need to be exist for a money laundering case, Cheema said. Cheema said Young Indian (YI) would have no rights on the assets of AJL. The Senior Advocate also submitted despite being a not-for-profit company, Young Indian was not indulging in any charity. He strongly denied the allegations that young Indian was involved in money laundering. Cheema said later leader Motilal Vohra, who was treasurer of AICC, was responsible for management of funds. He said AJL is alive and kicking and digital news operation was started. 'AJL is not dead. It is in control of its properties. Congress Party gave a lone to revive AJL. The loan was not given to earn interest or to get its properties,' he said. 'If AJL makes profits, it will go to the Young Indian, not the individuals. The rent generated from the property is being enjoyed by the respondents, it is totally wrong, ' the Senior Advocate submitted. Rent is earned by AJL and it is being used by it for construction of commercial spaces, he added. On the point of alleged offence, the Senior Advocate said that the money laundering is dealt in three pages. 'They are the most fascinating ones. The best scenario is that AJL starts having profits. Then the dividends will go to YI,' Cheema said. Special judge raised a query that as per ED, a rent of Rs 142 crore went to YI. Chima referred to urdu poetry 'Woh jhoot bol raha tha, bade salike se, mein yakin na karta, toh kya karta...? Waseem Barelvi,' he said. 'It is AJL which is using the rent. These are crude lies. AJL got that. The amount is not mentioned. Therefore, what case are we looking at?' Cheema argued. Cheema argued that as per ED, shareholders are supposed to be the victims they are defrauded of crores of rupees and said that ED has not investigated those 1000 shareholders. 'Will this trial go on without them being interrogated?' he argued. Responding to the question, the ED counsel said, 'We are still examining whether AJL can be made an accused. Rs 90 crore were for the use of the Congress party.' (ANI)

"Nothing wrong": Assam LoP Saikia on Congress distributing sanitary pad packets with pictures of Rahul Gandhi
Guwahati (Assam) [India], July 5 (ANI): The Leader of Opposition in Assam Legislative Assembly, Debabrata Saikia, on Saturday justified the move to put pictures of senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on the packets of sanitary pads, which they are distributing as a part of a welfare scheme. Speaking to ANI, Saikia mentioned that there is nothing wrong with putting pictures on such good initiatives. 'Distributing 5 lakh sanitary pads is just the beginning, and such welfare schemes should be taken up. We have placed the picture of Rahul Gandhi, but there is no reason for the BJP to get angry. Even on tobacco, there are images of celebrities in advertisements. And if, for such a good thing, we are putting up the picture of our leader, then what is the problem?' Saikia asked. Congress had earlier announced the launch of a sanitary pad distribution drive in Bihar. The box has pictures of Lok Sabha LoP Rahul Gandhi and party MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. Speaking on the initiative, All India Mahila Congress President Alka Lamba claimed that a survey was carried out by her party, in which it was revealed that women in Bihar are still using cloth during menstruation. 'We conducted a survey in Bihar, and shocking figures came out that in today's modern India, women and daughters of Bihar are using cloth during menstruation and are falling prey to serious diseases. Mahila Congress has taken the initiative to give free sanitary vending machines to our mothers, sisters, daughters of Bihar who are using cloth due to unemployment, inflation, poverty and are unable to buy it,' Lamba said. 'We installed machines, gave free training, free machines, free raw material to make 30,000 pads. And today, I am happy to say that the women of Bihar are making these pads; they are getting work and earning a living. We are going to distribute free sanitary pad boxes in the next 2 days,' she added. Earlier, Former Rajasthan Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Ashok Gehlot on Monday said that if the INDIA bloc comes to power in Bihar after the upcoming assembly elections, it will implement Rajasthan's health model in the state. Speaking at a press conference in Patna, Gehlot said, 'The health model we have created in Rajasthan cannot be compared to any other in the entire country. We have also enacted the 'Right to Health' law in Rajasthan, under which every family has been provided with insurance coverage. The Government of India's Ayushman Bharat scheme benefits only a select few, whereas Rajasthan is the only state where we have provided coverage to the entire population of the state.' Bihar elections are expected to be held later this year, in October or November; however, the Election Commission of India (ECI) has not announced an official date. (ANI)

"Should understand dignity of LoP": Sudhanshu Trivedi slams Rahul Gandhi on India-US trade remarks
Raipur (Chhattisgarh) [India], July 5 (ANI): BJP MP Sudhanshu Trivedi on Saturday slammed Congress MP Rahul Gandhi over his remarks on India's trade negotiations with the United States and said he should understand the responsibilities that come with the post of Leader of the Opposition. Trivedi lashed at the LoP and said that it is beyond understanding why Rahul Gandhi was attempting to become a bigger 'Muhafiz.' Speaking to the mediapersons, Trivedi said, 'I think Rahul Gandhi should understand the dignity of the post of LoP. Even before this, he used the word 'surrender' for Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This word was not used even by Pakistan's PM, Defence Minister or Army chief of Pakistan, that India 'surrendered'. Even terrorists like Maulana Masood Azhar and Hafiz Saeed did not use the word.' 'It is beyond understanding why Rahul Gandhi is attempting to become a bigger 'Muhafiz' of Pakistan than Hafiz. I think a Congress spokesperson can explain this better,' said Sudhanshu Trivedi. The BJP leader also reacted to Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray's 'BJP's flag only a piece of cloth used to clean utensils' statement and said, 'During the rule of the parties with which he is standing today, Pakistan's and ISIS flags were seen in Kashmir. I think before making such statements, he should be mindful of the dignity of any party.' 'We respect all parties. But during their rule, even the national flag was not respected. People with whom he is standing today ask where it is written that one needs to stand up for national anthem and respect national flag. So, I think if he analyses his own statement, he will be able to understand better that his party doesn't seem to be carrying out the great legacy of Balasaheb Thackeray that he is representing,' he added. Earlier in the day, Union Minister Piyush Goyal also hit back at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's remarks on India's trade negotiations with the United States and stated that nobody took the Congress leader seriously anymore because of the negativity he and his colleagues spread. Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi, reacting to Piyush Goyal's statement on India entering trade deals, stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will 'meekly bow' to theTrump tariff deadlines, referring to the India-US trade deal. Rahul Gandhi referenced a media report and wrote on X, 'Piyush Goyal can beat his chest all he wants, mark my words, Modi will meekly bow to the Trump tariff deadline.' Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal on Friday emphasised that India will only enter into trade agreements, including the proposed US Bilateral Trade Agreement (BTA), when they serve the country's national interests and offer mutual benefits. Speaking on the sidelines of the 16th Toy Biz B2B expo in New Delhi, Goyal made it clear that India's approach to international trade negotiations remains firm and principled. 'It should be a win-win agreement, and only when India's interests are safeguarded -- national interest will always be supreme -- and keeping that in mind, if a good deal is formed, India is always ready to engage with developed countries,' the minister stated. Goyal emphasised that India negotiates on its terms. The minister revealed that India is currently engaged in trade discussions with multiple countries across different continents. (ANI)
