KTR slams govt for nudging women to carry potable water to paddy fields

Hyderabad: The BRS working president KT Rama Rao on Monday launched a scathing attack on the government following an incident where women were reportedly seen carrying water in pots to safeguard their paddy crops. The BRS leader alleged that the government had failed to repair two crucial pillars for 19 months. Comparing the current situation to 'IndirammaRajyam' bringing 'farming with water pots,' Rama Rao stated, 'What a misery Revanth has brought…!! While KCR ensured girls did not have to stand outside their houses holding pots for drinking water, Revanth Reddy has now created a situation where women fetch water with pots to protect their paddy fields? What are these new difficulties for our sisters who are already struggling for drinking water?' Rama Rao further claimed that in Rangadhamunipalli, Gollapalli, Jagityala district, a transformer broke down and remained unrepaired for 15 days. He questioned the government's capacity, stating, 'You have not been able to repair two pillars at Medigadda for a year and a half. Do you not even have the capacity to repair transformers? You have already given up on providing irrigation facilities. Now there is so much trouble protecting crops with current motors? What else but wickedness is there to prevent the use of groundwater that increased during the BRS regime? We cannot bear to see crops drying up before our eyes. Can this Chief Minister not see the suffering of girls and children carrying buckets? God knows when he would make women crorepatis. When will this Chief Minister find the courage to end the suffering of these girls and children who carry pots for drinking water as well as irrigation water?' The BRS leader also targeted the government over a student suicide. 'Another student commits suicide in a Gurukul hostel, very sad,' he remarked. 'The failure of the Congress government is the reason for the suicide of a fifth-grade student in the Jyotiba Phule hostel in Thupranpet, Choutuppal mandal, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district. Even though 90 students in Gurukuls have already died due to various reasons, the Chief Minister is not providing any relief. If the Chief Minister does not stop this death knell that is ringing in Gurukuls, the curses of the parents will surely fall on this Congress government.'

No CM faced wrath of people like Revanth Reddy, says KTR

Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao on Monday said that no other chief minister than Revanth Reddy has faced so many abuses and insults across the villages in the history of Telugu states. Ridiculing the criticism of KCR by Revanth Reddy, Rama Rao said if he was sitting in the CM's chair it is because of the BRS chief. He made these comments while addressing a group of Congress leaders and workers from Medak who joined the BRS party at Telangana Bhavan. Stating that the Siddipet was once known for pigs and donkeys, the BRS leader said that donkeys have now left from Medak except for one or two and these two would also leave soon. Lashing out at the chief minister, Rao said, 'We have seen NT Rama Rao, YS Rajasekhara Reddy, K Rosaiah and KCR. No one faced the wrath of the people like Revanth Reddy. It is all drainage when he opens his mouth,' said KTR. He said that the chief minister promised loan waiver of Rs 2 lakh. The CM claimed waiving loans worth Rs 50,000 crore but washed off his hands by waiving just Rs 12,000 crore to Rs 13,000 crore. He assured RythuBandhu of Rs 15,000 for three crops but he gave just Rs 12,000 and wanted the farmers to celebrate and boasted that he will win 100 seats, said KTR. Taking objections to the language used by the chief minister against the leader of opposition, KTR said, 'Revanth should not forget that today he was sitting in the CM's post only because of KCR. We were in power for ten years but never talked irresponsibly. Is this IndirammaRajyam? Booking cases against people who post against the government.' Senior leader T Harish Rao said that earlier people used to say Siddipet means pigs and Medak means lots of donkeys. Now these places have been developed amazingly. There is Ramayampet Degree College, SC, ST Residential schools, KCR modernized the Ghanapuram canal. He ensured that even the last ayacut gets water. While KCR gave RythuBandhu in between cropping season, Revanth Reddy is giving in between the voting season. Lashing out at Irrigation Minister, Harish Rao said that Uttam Kumar Reddy always lies. 'Is it not a lie that you are cheating by not turning on the motors in Kalwakurthy while the gates are being lifted in Pothireddypadu and taking Krishna water? Isn't it true that lakhs of cusecs are going in Godavari? It is like the Revanth administration is sending water to Andhra and funds to Delhi,' said Harish Rao.

Telangana Chief Minister A. The ambitious green initiative aims to plant 18 crore saplings across the State this year, he said while echoing Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent appeal to citizens to plant a sapling in the name of their mother. He urged women, especially mothers, to plant trees in their children's names as well. 'If we nurture trees like our own children, Telangana will become a complete Green Zone. Nature will protect us if we take care of it,' he said. 60 Assembly tickets to women Referring to his government's commitment towards women empowerment, he assured that the Congress party would allocate 60 Assembly tickets to women candidates in the next elections. Telangana CM launches Vanamahotsavam 2025, sets green and women empowerment goals

Hyderabad, July 7 (UNI) Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, along with Forest Minister Konda Surekha, officially inaugurated Vanamahotsavam 2025 by planting a Rudraksha sapling at Professor Jayashankar Agricultural University today. Marking the beginning of the state's annual plantation drive, the Chief Minister emphasised the deep-rooted connection between people and forests. 'Our elders have said — we are the forest, and the forest is us. If we protect nature, nature will protect us,' he said. The state government has set an ambitious target of planting 18 crore saplings this year. Echoing Prime Minister Narendra Modi's call, the Chief Minister urged people to plant a sapling in the name of their mother and encouraged mothers to do the same in the names of their children. 'Plant at least two saplings in every house and nurture them like your own children,' he appealed, adding that such efforts could transform Telangana into a lush green state. Beyond environmental concerns, the Chief Minister also reiterated his government's strong commitment to women's empowerment. 'Our government is empowering women by entrusting them with key responsibilities — from managing solar plants to running government schools,' he said. Highlighting several initiatives, he noted that women now enjoy free travel in RTC buses, and the government has facilitated the leasing of 1,000 buses by women, making them owners and entrepreneurs. In Hi-Tech City, marketing platforms have been created for products developed by women's self-help groups, especially in areas dominated by global tech giants like Wipro and Microsoft. 'We aim to make one crore women millionaires in Telangana,' Revanth Reddy declared. The government has already disbursed Rs 21,000 crore in loans to women's groups this year, and he called on urban women to join self-help groups to seize these opportunities. He also reaffirmed his administration's commitment to uplifting girls and women through education, financial independence, and representation. 'Under Indiramma Rajyam, girls will live with dignity. We are also preparing to implement women's reservation in the Assembly. I take full responsibility for ensuring 60 MLA seats are given to women in the next elections,' he promised. The event was attended by Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (HoFF) Dr Suvarna, CM Advisor Vem Narender Reddy, MP Mallu Ravi, along with MLAs, MLCs, Corporation Chairpersons, and senior officials from the Forest Department. KTR flays Congress over arrests of protesting youth

Hyderabad: Targeting the government on arrests of the students taking up 'Chalo Secretariat', the BRS working president KT Rama Rao on Friday said that arresting the unemployed who came to protest against the betrayal of Rahul Gandhi that he would create two lakh jobs in a year is the most evil act. The BRS leader asked CM A Revanth Reddy, who said that the doors of the Secretariat would always be open during 'Indiramma Rajyam', couldn't he see the hardships of the unemployed? Does Revanth, who called Rahul Gandhi at Ashok Nagar Cross Roads and had a tea party with the unemployed, not remember the job calendar after assuming office? While it is atrocious to arrest unemployed people from many districts across Telangana from coming to Hyderabad to sabotage the Chalo Secretariat program, it is appalling to arrest those who came to the Secretariat today to protest. KTR said that Revanth, who called Delhi leaders in the name of the Youth Declaration and deceived them, did not issue notifications of 10,000 jobs in a year and a half, which is a blow to the unemployed. The unemployed would never forgive the incompetent Chief Minister who gave appointment orders for 60,000 jobs that had completed the process during the BRS government. The Chief Minister who deceived students by assuring to fulfil all the promises made in the job calendar within a year was sure to face the wrath of the unemployed. The unemployed who have taken up the Chalo Secretariat program cannot be illegally arrested and their throats cannot be choked. They should be released unconditionally immediately and the Chief Minister should keep his word otherwise, the party would announce a BRS movement on behalf of the lakhs of unemployed in the state and bend the necks of the Revanth government.
