Peterborough United have cancelled the contract of goalkeeper Jed Steer at his request.
The former Aston Villa keeper had another 12 months left on the deal he signed last summer but wants to leave for "personal reasons".
He saved two penalties against Wrexham to help Posh reach this season's EFL Trophy final at Wembley, and kept a clean sheet when they beat Birmingham City in the final to make it back-to-back wins in the competition.

A new contract has been offered to defender Tayo Edun, who joined them in January after leaving Charlton Athletic and scored twice in 17 appearances.
But goalkeeper Nicholas Bilopkapic has been made available for transfer, along with former Colchester striker Bradley Ihinovien, full-back Jack Sparkes and striker Jacob Wakeling.
The club have confirmed that highly-rated winger Kwame Poku, forward Ricky-Jade Jones and midfielder Hector Kyprianou, who scored the second goal in the 2-0 win over Birmingham, will all leave the club when their contracts expire.
Posh will be entitled to tribunal compensation for Poku and Jones, who both came through their academy.
Meanwhile, winger David Ajiboye and striker Kabongo Tshimanga have both been released, having ended the season on loan at Newport County and Swindon Town.

Marler explains love for padel in rugby retirement

Joe Marler says padel has been the "perfect sport" for him since retiring from rugby [Robin Grey / BBC] Former England rugby union star Joe Marler has described his new found love for the racket sport padel since retiring last year. After calling time on his playing career in November 2024, the former Harlequins prop said he picked it up during the 2023 Rugby World Cup. Advertisement Marler, from Heathfield in East Sussex, claimed he was "no good" at it but wanted to "spread the padel gospel" in retirement. Speaking during a celebrity tournament, he said: "There's that one point, that one rally that you get and you feel good at it. I chase that moment." He said: "People think I'm really good, they book me to spread the Padel gospel, then they realise I'm not good at it!" Padel tennis is one of the fastest-growing sports in the world, thanks to its basic skill level and social nature. Marler said: "It's going crazy, everyone and everywhere is padel mad. It's great for me!" Advertisement He now takes part in the Pro Am Padel Tour, a tournament which sees celebrities and professional padel players team together. His team, including former Aston Villa striker Gabby Agbonlahor, came up against others including comedian Jason Manford, with the tour also featuring players like Great Britain number one padel player Aimee Gibson. The Traitors Team Manford emerged victorious and secured a £10,000 contribution to the Captain's Fund, a new charitable initiative where each captain selects a charity to support. Manford added: "Joe is good actually, for a big man he's got some delicate shots, he's a good laugh. I'm sure he's storming around now we've beaten him." Advertisement As England Rugby's player welfare manager, Marler said his life has not slowed down since finishing his playing career. "It doesn't feel like retirement, I'm so busy. I'm trying my hand at several things and hoping something sticks," he said. He has also been announced as part of the line-up for the celebrity version of hit BBC One show The Traitors, which airs this autumn. Marler will appear alongside the likes of comedians Stephen Fry and Alan Carr, chat show host Jonathan Ross and Olympic diver Tom Daley. Follow BBC Sussex on Facebook, on X, and on Instagram. Liverpool defender makes 'homesick' admission as new target emerges

Young Liverpool defender Amara Nallo admits he felt "homesick" during his first season at the club but is now determined to make the step up into Arne Slot's senior squad. Nallo has been progressing through the ranks at the Academy since being signed from West Ham United in September 2023. Advertisement The 18-year-old centre-back featured during the pre-season tour to the United States last summer and made his senior debut in the Champions League clash at PSV Eindhoven in January. Nallo, though, suffered a nightmare when he was dismissed four minutes after coming on as substitute to oust Michael Owen as the youngest player ever to be sent off for Liverpool. Advertisement And Nallo - who has been on the first-team bench on five other occasions - has revealed the main issue he had to overcome when first arriving two years ago. "When I came to the Academy, the players were very welcoming," he said. "The staff as well were willing to help and entrusted me and my development, which was really important. "Obviously there was no doubt in me signing because my family are Liverpool supporters as well. It just all came to plan. "In the first season I was homesick but then I got to know that I'm here for a reason and I'm working, so I need to make them proud. Advertisement "In the second season I'm very focused and determined and looking forward to what's to come." Of his target for the next campaign, Nallo added: "Just be regular with the first team and see what we get from there and how far I can push on from there." Speaking to Nallo also outlined why he is determined to make his mark as a centre-back. "A clean sheet for me is like scoring," he said. "It's a very good achievement. "I've always been a centre-half, even when I was playing district for my local borough. I just feel like defending is my game. I just like defending. "I'd say I'm really calm and composed and just aggressive when it comes to defending."
