There's no doubt they have one of the most talented rosters in the NFL, but on Monday, they suffered a major blow, as center Frank Ragnow announced on Instagram he'd be retiring at just 29 years old.
The news has since garnered a lot of attention from some of his teammates, including wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown, who commented, "much deserved," followed by a heart emoji.
Ragnow also walks away with two seasons left on a four-year, $54 million extension with the Lions. However, as he earned $79 million throughout his seven years in the NFL, money likely won't be a problem in his future.

However, there's no doubt that St. Brown and the rest of the Lions' offense will miss Ragnow as in 2024, he earned his fourth Pro Bowl appearance and Second-Team All-Pro honors for the third time.
By the end of the year, he'd also earned an 85.3 overall grade (3rd/64 centers), 63.6 pass blocking grade (36th/64 centers) and a 90.8 run blocking grade (3rd/64 centers), per Pro Football Focus.

Of course, despite retiring at such an early age, Ragnow lived up to the high expectations he faced when entering the NFL after the Lions selected him with the No. 20 pick in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft.

It will now remain to be seen if St. Brown and the rest of Detroit's offense can continue to produce in 2025 despite losing one of their most talented and successful players.

Case, who has been ultrarunning for nearly 20 years, said she was easing back into running after giving birth in November and was treating the Ultra-Trail Snowdonia event, her first in nearly three years, as a warm-up race. She said she didn't even initially realize she had finished in first place among the female runners. "When I finished, I ran across the finish line, and I was so excited, because I felt like I'd had a strong day for me," Case said. "And then the race organizer said, 'Hold on, we're checking the chip times but we think you might have won.' And I was absolutely floored. I had to get them to repeat it multiple times." Case's victory was especially sweet and triumphant because she said she had a "challenging" pregnancy journey, which was marked by two miscarriages and multiple rounds of in vitro fertilization treatment. "Any new mom out there will know we are the best at multitasking," said Case. "This just added another layer of logistics … and I seem to manage them OK." Since her comeback victory, many have praised Case and said they're inspired by what she has been able to accomplish. "Wow - this is sooooo cool, well done! I am a mum of two (nearly 4 year old and a 6 month old) I've never really exercised, but I am determined to start running and this is just such a massive inspiration," wrote one Instagram user. "If you can do this I gotta be able to do my little couch to 5k, no matter how many weeks it takes. Find it so hard to make time for myself and get out." Case, who said she feels "pretty good" since the race, said she hopes to pass along that extra boost of motivation to other women, especially to moms-to-be and new moms like her. "They don't have to give up their passions and their dreams when they become a mom," said Case. "The things that make us happy and whole are the things that make us better parents." Case said she plans on racing again this summer, making her return to the Hardrock Hundred Mile Endurance Run, also known as the Hardrock 100.

Ravens GM confirms team is in 'introductory stage' of contract talks with Lamar Jackson During an appearance on the BMore Baseball Podcast, Ravens GM Eric DeCosta confirmed that the team is in the 'introductory stage' of contract talks with Lamar Jackson. Lamar Jackson is a two-time NFL MVP and arguably should have won the award in 2024. Baltimore's 2025 NFL season is quickly approaching, and the Ravens' focus has shifted to reshaping the roster and preparing for a juggernaut of a schedule. The Ravens have made fifth-year option decisions on Kyle Hamilton and Tyler Linderbaum, while Jackson will have a cap hit of over $70 million for the 2026 season. During March's NFL owners' meetings in Florida, head coach John Harbaugh confirmed that Jackson is due for a new deal that will once again make him the highest-paid player in NFL history. That hasn't happened yet, but DeCosta, during an appearance on the BMore Baseball Podcast, confirmed that those discussions have started. 'We've had some conversations before the draft, after the draft, in person last week,' DeCosta said, via the team's website. 'I think we're in the introductory sort of stage of looking at what an extension might look like.' Last week, former sports agent and CBS Sports lead analyst Joel Corry masterfully broke down the leverage Jackson again holds over the franchise with his 2026 and 2027 cap hits being unworkable for the organization. The Ravens have more urgency for a new deal than Jackson although he has dropped to the NFL's 10th-highest-paid player after Brock Purdy's recent five-year, $265 million contract extension, averaging $53 million per year, with the San Francisco 49ers. Patience can be Jackson's best friend because his salary cap number jumps from $43.5 million in 2025 to an unmanageable $74.5 million in 2026 and also in 2027. The $74.5 million is 2026's third highest cap number. Fortunately for Jackson, Harbaugh conceded at the league meetings that Jackson was going to be put back at the top of the NFL salary hierarchy with his next contract. "The value is the top," Harbaugh said. "When Lamar gets paid, he's going to be the highest-paid player in football, just like he was last time. I think every contract he signs till he decides to hang up his cleats, he's going to be that guy." These dynamics give Jackson, who represents himself and has never had an agent, significant leverage in negotiations. He shouldn't think about twice about using the existing circumstances to his advantage. As Corry pointed out, Jackson just finished the second year of a five-year, $260 million contract signed with the Baltimore Ravens on May 4, 2023. Of this, $185 million is guaranteed, of which $135 million was fully guaranteed at signing. As of this article, Jackson is the 10th highest-paid quarterback in the NFL after Brock Purdy's new contract. Corry highlighted that based on recent trends with Dak Prescott and Josh Allen, Jackson can justify $65.5 million to $67 million per year" for a contract extension he signs in the coming months. With inflation and an adjustment for the 24.2% increase of the salary cap since he signed in 2023, Jackson could command upwards of $64.5 million per year.
