(Image: Colin Mearns, Newsquest) Paesano opened in Shawlands in May this year, making it the city's third branch of the popular Neapolitan pizzeria chain.
The unit was previously occupied by Di Maggio's.
First opening in 2015, Paesano quickly became a beloved institution across the city with its simple menu of 10 pizza options and regularly changing specials.

Last year Paesano and sister restaurant Sugo were bought by hospitality group The DRG.

Netflix period drama 'better than Outlander' is available to stream now
The 'outstanding' period drama is given a perfect 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes. When trying to find a new and exciting period drama, it's often the same titles coming up time and time again. However, what if there was one hidden gem even better than the best-known series, sitting right under your nose? Inspired by the true story behind one of Italy's first female lawyers, The Law According to Lidia Poët follows the titular attorney, played by Matilda De Angelis, as she fights to practice law in late 19th-century Turin, Italy. After being disbarred from practising law simply because she is a woman and forced to be an assistant to her lawyer brother Enrico, portrayed by Pier Luigi Pasino, Lidia fights for gender equality at a time when it simply didn't exist. Despite the obstacles she faced, she continues to work hard being the scenes, using her intelligence, determination, and progressive views on justice to solve crimes. The six-part series aired on Netflix in 2023 with the second season coming a year later, the Express reports. For those that believe this sounds right up their street, it's good news because both of these seasons are available to watch on the streaming platform and better yet, another season is coming too! The third season of The Law According to Lidia Poët is expected to be released in late 2025 or early 2026. The Italian historical drama was praised after its release with critics applauding the mixture of courtroom drama, mystery-solving, and feminist themes. However, the series faced some criticism from Lidia Poët's grandnephew, who accused it of sexualising her character, ignoring her Waldensian heritage and lacking proper historical context. Despite the backlash, The Law According to Lidia Poët has a perfect rating on Rotten Tomatoes and has been met with constant praise from viewers. One gushed: "Love it! Actors are brilliant, script is developed and interesting; Costumes are Amazing!!! The details of jewellery and accessories for Lidia are Fabulous!!!!! "Love the insect brooches or fly/ spider earrings!!! And that's just 1 character!! Everything, the finest detail was designed and styled to perfection!!!" A second chimed in: "This is a great series based on the two seasons I have watched. Hint: You'll not want to miss the Season 2 finale and everything which leads up to it. Netflix deserves our thanks for this worthwhile show." Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! Get the latest news sent straight to your messages by joining our WhatsApp community today. A fifth echoed: "This TV series is so so so well written and made its adventures entertaining. You must go watch this tv series!! So far both two seasons are phenomenal."

I went back to a park I used to play in all the time as a kid and I couldn't believe how much it had changed
I went back to a park I used to play in all the time as a kid and I couldn't believe how much it had changed From toilets converted to a café to new outdoor activities, the park I have many fond memories of has changed completely The splashpad is a popular feature in place of the old paddling pool (Image: South Wales Echo) I'm sure that many people in Wales will have a park that they have many fond memories of from their childhood, often driving or walking past now and remembering a much simpler time. A time where all you needed was bus fare, and a couple quid for chips and an ice cream. When I was younger every summer we would hop on the bus and visit Victoria Park in Cardiff to spend hours playing in the paddling pool or on the swings. Clearly things look different, here's h ow different Cardiff looked 20 years ago despite it feeling just a few moments ago. Now an adult, I recently returned to the park for the first time while on a run and I couldn't get over how much the park has changed in the years since I was little. Younger me playing on the swings The park, on the city's Cowbridge Road, opened in 1897 with an ornamental lake and fountains which were later turned into a paddling pool in the 1960s. The pool was, by far, the most popular feature within the park. When, in 2016 the council put forward that it would be turned into a splash pad, costing £485,000, there was uproar. People like me who remembered it from before thought their childhood was being taken away. From what I, and I'm sure many others, should really remember though was that the pool wasn't at its best in its later days. Even with some questionable cleanliness, we always played in it anyway, enjoying every minute. Inside the park, Mamma's Place serves up ice creams and cannoli's, a nod to the family's Italian heritage, and all at sensible prices and if you're still hungry, the row of shops opposite is home to Pettigrew's Bakery, Let Them See Cake, Burger Boys and Top Deck chip shop - all which you can take over to the park. Article continues below As a child I remember my excitement as mum packed our picnic, lathered on the sun cream and got the change ready for the bus so we could spend a day at the park. Cardiff has a host of great parks, but surely Vicky Park wins the title of being the best?
