Ishaan Khatter says he lost 8-10 kilos for Homebound right after sporting washboard abs in The Royals: ‘In fact, not only weight…'

Ishaan Khatter recently revealed that while the washboard abs he sported in The Royals became a talking point, it became a 'disadvantage' for his following film, Homebound, for which he had to lose weight. 'After Royals, I had to lose weight for Homebound. In fact, not only weight, when I met the director, he told me to lose all my muscles. You have to look normal. So, it became a disadvantage. I completely understood why he said that. I lost about 8-10 kilos…to play a 21-22 year old boy,' he said.
Advocating consistency, the actor stressed that one must figure out a way that works for them. 'This (his physique) is not the effort of just one or one and a half years. I have always been interested in fitness. I am a dancer. So, I try to maintain a base level of fitness so that even if I have to push through with less exercise for a few weeks, I can do it,' he said.
Adding there is no hack, he told Mashable India, 'It's consistency. I know it's a boring answer, but it's the truth. Aap lagey raho. Itna hi karo ki aap agle din thak kar demotivate na ho jao (You be at it. Do only as much that you don't get demotivated because you feel tired the following day). Don't push yourself over the edge. People have these bursts of enthusiasm where they go to the gym, like in the New Year, and then they feel demotivated. We are made to move. We are designed to move. Just find your way of doing it.'
Taking a cue from Ishaan's confession, let's understand how consistency pays off, even during extreme weight loss efforts.
Quick fixes don't last — habits do
Extreme weight loss without consistency is like building a sandcastle during a storm — it looks okay for a moment, then vanishes.
But if you build brick by brick—eat cleanly daily, move every day, and sleep well—your body will stay strong, and the weight will stay off, said fitness coach Varun Rattan.
Your body needs time to adapt
Extreme weight loss methods like crash diets or overexercising shock the body. 'But your body doesn't like being shocked — it fights back with fatigue, cravings, and mood swings. Consistency helps your body adapt slowly and safely, preventing burnout or other adverse effects,' said Rattan.
Real fat loss vs. water loss
Fast methods often lead to water loss, not fat loss. 'You lose a few kilos quickly, but they return just as fast. With consistency, your body burns fat, and not just loses water. That's true, lasting weight loss,' said Rattan.
Whether you have a short timeline or a big goal, start small, stay steady, and keep showing up daily. 'You'll be surprised how 8–10 kg can come off over a few months without destroying your energy or mental health — and how it stays off because your habits are now part of your life,' said Rattan.

Audience chatter, phone use ruin experience: Why Martin Scorsese stopped going to theatres

Noted filmmaker Martin Scorsese has stopped going to the theatres. After directing over 20 films, the revered director has shared that he has not been able to concentrate at the theatres as he is too angered and distracted by the conversations and smartphone activity around him. The 82-year-old director, who last helmed Killers of the Flower Moon, spoke about this in conversation with US film critic Peter Travers for his blog The Travers Take. "I asked the maestro why he doesn't see movies in theatres any more and he went all raging bull about audiences who babble on phones during the movie, leave to order snacks and vats of soda, and keep up a noise level loud enough to drown out the actors," Travers wrote. When he pointed out that as kids, they too would have had loud conversations in theatres, Scorsese said, "Yeah, maybe. But when we talked it was always about the movie and the fun we had chewing over the details." Up next, Scorsese has multiple projects in the works including a crime drama, starring Dwayne Johnson in lead and set in Hawaii. He also has a Pope Francis documentary in development. The leader of the Catholic Church was 88 when he passed away on April 21. He had recently served as an executive producer on Neeraj Ghaywan's sophomore feature Homebound, starring Ishaan Khatter, Vishal Jethwa, and Janhvi Kapoor. The film made its world premiere in the Un Certain Regard section at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival and received critical acclaim with a nine-minute standing ovation.

Did you know Nora Fatehi's bank balance was almost getting zero due to THIS obsession and her manager had to intervene!

Nora Fatehi who is wooing everyone lately for her acting skills and roles in projects like 'Be Happy' and 'The Royals' apart from her dancing skills has opened up on a major obsession of hers. So much so, that this obsession was about to make her bank balance fall to zero, if her manager didn't stop her. She opened up on the kind of money she was spending on luxury hand bangs and designer pieces and it wouldn't have stopped if her manager didn't intervene. In a recent chat with Instant Bollywood, the actress—who recently appeared in the romantic comedy The Royals—opened up about her early indulgences and the financial wake-up call that followed. She recalled that her first major luxury purchase was a handbag, a moment that marked the beginning of her love affair with high-end fashion. However, what started as an innocent passion slowly turned into an expensive habit. Over time, her shopping sprees began to noticeably impact her savings. It eventually reached a point where her Moroccan manager had to intervene, urging her to reconsider her spending patterns and think more seriously about long-term financial planning. That intervention became a turning point for Nora, prompting her to shift focus from short-term gratification to making smarter, future-oriented choices. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like People Born 1934-1979 - Are Due a Large Surprise Super Penny Pincher Learn More Undo Nora also reflected on the emotional roots of her desire for luxury. Growing up, she often felt the sting of not being able to afford the things she admired on others. That sense of longing stayed with her, fueling a drive to one day attain the lifestyle she once only dreamed of. Owning designer items became a personal milestone—a way to reclaim the things she had been denied in her younger years. On the career front, Nora is keeping busy. After starring alongside Ishaan Khattar and Bhumi Pednekar in The Royals, she is gearing up for two new films. She will be seen in Kanchana 4, a Tamil horror-comedy, and KD: The Devil, an action-packed Kannada film that will also mark her debut in the Kannada cinema space.
