Each of the 252 guestrooms and suites is a private sanctuary, where floor-to-ceiling windows reveal sweeping views of the city and shutters allow for an illumination of natural light within the space.
Thoughtfully designed for both relaxation and inspiration, the suites feature expansive living areas, a full bath with a separate rain shower and aromatherapy shower steamer, double vanity, a walk-in dressing room, personal study area, and in select rooms, private dining spaces overlooking the cityscape.
From Modern Perspectives To Timeless Traditions

Sculptural centrepieces set a striking first impression, while meticulous artisanal detailing throughout creates sophistication above the city. Perforated brass screens, etched with batik canting patterns, balance openness with intimacy. The natural timber accents and woven textures are inspired by traditional basket weaving and Peranakan textures, introducing an organic warmth.
The space is complete with a stunning array of artwork by world-renowned artists celebrating the colours and natural forms of Malaysia. Curated by Artlink, it is intended as a private collection of local craft and modern art.
A guided experience through Merdeka 118 Precinct is available with exclusive access to the historical landmark Stadium Merdeka where Malaysia's Independence was declared, Al-Sultan Abdullah Mosque, the Merdeka Textile Museum, and Merdeka 118 building, uncovering the architectural significance and cultural narratives behind Malaysia's iconic location.
'Merdeka 118 will be a catalyst to uplift communities and enhance Kuala Lumpur's long-term vibrancy as part of Warisan KL, an initiative to celebrate heritage and revitalise the city. It plays an important role in supporting Kuala Lumpur's cultural regeneration and heritage tourism,' said YM Raja Tan Sri Dato' Seri Arshad Raja Tun Uda, Group Chairman of PNB. 'We are excited to welcome the Park Hyatt brand to Malaysia as part of this landmark project which will unlock potential and build pride.'

[Watch] Malaysian Tourist Faces Double Dose Of Racism From Koreans On First Day In Seoul

Subscribe to our FREE A Malaysian man's solo trip to Seoul got off to a rocky start when he experienced what he describes as two separate racist incidents – all within his first 24 hours in South Korea. The tourist, posting under the handle In one particularly awkward encounter on the KTX high-speed train to Seoul, a Korean woman who was supposed to sit beside him apparently asked another passenger to negotiate seating arrangements to avoid being next to him. 'She asked the guy sitting beside me if he could sit there instead,' the Malaysian explained in his video post. He was very confused… I saw these two people trying to figure out the seating situation. The Tan Factor But this wasn't an isolated incident. The traveller noted a pattern of behaviour, especially from Korean women on trains who 'tend to move away' when he sits nearby. He admits he's 'generally quite unfazed by it' but found the experience worth sharing. What makes his account particularly striking is his observation about timing and appearance, suggesting that his darker complexion may be a factor in how he's being treated. I don't remember experiencing this the first time I visited Korea when I wasn't tanned. Cool Head, Hot Topic The Malaysian traveller kept his cool throughout the incidents, following what seems to be seasoned advice: 'Don't engage in any arguments if possible, because you are in their country.' His measured response reflects the complex position many Southeast Asian tourists find themselves in when facing discrimination abroad. Despite the uncomfortable encounters, the traveller appears to be continuing his Seoul adventure, treating the incidents as 'interesting experiences to share' rather than reasons to cut his trip short. His post has led to discussions about colourism and racial attitudes in East Asia, where lighter skin tones are often culturally preferred. Malaysia and Bangladesh to establish cleaner, transparent recruitment system, says Muhammad Yunus

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia and Bangladesh have agreed to work towards establishing a cleaner and more transparent recruitment process for Bangladeshi workers. Chief Adviser to Bangladesh's government Prof Dr Muhammad Yunus said this was discussed in depth during his meeting with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in Putrajaya on Tuesday. He also acknowledged existing flaws in the current process and stressed the need to "clean it up" to avoid problems for either side. "We had a very elaborate discussion on how to proceed without having trouble for the Malaysian government. "We both promised ourselves to clean up the system and to make it easier and transparent," he told Bernama. The Nobel Prize laureate said that while Malaysia needs foreign workers, Bangladesh also seeks to ensure that the recruitment of its citizens is transparent, allowing them to work abroad with dignity, proper rights and benefits. "Malaysia needs people and we need to have these people come here to make a living for themselves and their families. So both sides need each other. "There is no shortage of goodwill. It's a question of putting together and see where the things go wrong and then we track and clean it up," he said. As of February 2025, Bangladeshi nationals form the largest group of foreign workers in Malaysia, numbering at 898,970. They represent a critical workforce in the country, primarily employed in the construction, manufacturing, plantation and service sectors. The Home Ministry has implemented the Multiple Entry Visa (MEV) facility for Bangladeshi workers, effective Aug 8, underscoring Kuala Lumpur's commitment to ethical and regulated labour cooperation with Dhaka. Yunus was on a three-day official visit to Malaysia from Aug 11-14 at the invitation of Anwar, reciprocating the Prime Minister's visit to Dhaka in October 2024. – Bernama
