Launch of the Bus Rapid Transit Route Between Amman and Madaba - Jordan News
The Mayor of Greater Amman, Dr. Yousef Al-Shawarbeh, sponsored the launch and operation ceremony of the new Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Route 105 between Amman and Madaba. اضافة اعلان Eight modern buses have been deployed along this route, which starts in front of Prince Hamzah bin Al-Hussein Hospital in the Tareq area and ends at Madaba Secondary School for Boys. The service follows a fixed schedule with 34 trips per day. Buses depart from Madaba at 6:00 AM, and from Amman at 7:00 AM, with service continuing until 8:00 PM in both directions. A bus will operate every 30 minutes from each direction, maintaining a consistent frequency throughout the day. The BRT route includes stops through the following areas: Tareq, North Terminal (Mujamma' Al-Shamal), Sports City Circle, Wadi Saqra traffic lights, Princess Basma Street, Abdoun Corridor, Airport Road, Al-Zaytoonah University, Madaba Bridge, Al-Andalusiyya, King's Academy, Circle of Love (Dawar Al-Mahabba), and the Islamic Bank in Madaba.
It's worth noting that within Amman, buses will operate exclusively on the dedicated BRT lanes, avoiding regular traffic, while on Airport Road they will use the service lanes.

The Ministry of Agriculture has announced the opening of imports for live sacrificial animals from Syria, as part of efforts to boost supply in local markets and stabilize prices ahead of Eid Al-Adha. اضافة اعلان According to the ministry's spokesperson, Lawrence Al-Majali, in a radio statement, importing live Syrian kids (young goats) has been approved and they are now available in local markets as an option for Eid sacrifices. He added that importing live sheep from Syria is currently limited to the military institution only, noting that this decision is part of the ministry's policy to diversify sources of sacrificial animals and reduce pressure on domestic production. Al-Majali highlighted that most sacrificial animals in Jordan are of local origin, in addition to imported animals from countries such as Romania, Australia, and Spain. He emphasized that importing from Syria helps balance supply and demand during the Eid season and enhances citizens' ability to purchase sacrifices at reasonable prices. Sacrificial Animal Prices Al-Majali noted that the livestock market in Jordan is witnessing an unprecedented abundance this year, with about 580,000 heads of local and imported sheep available, while the market demand is estimated at only 250,000 to 300,000 heads. He also shared indicative prices for sacrifices: The average price for a medium-sized imported sacrifice ranges between 200 to 225 Jordanian Dinars. The local sacrifice ranges between 220 to 260 Dinars, depending on supply, demand, and availability. He clarified that these prices are indicative, not fixed, and based on market conditions. Prices usually start to drop after the afternoon of the first day of Eid and continue to decline during the following Tashreeq days. Al-Majali urged citizens to shop around and compare prices before buying, noting that there are over 400 livestock sale points in Amman alone, in addition to other sites across the kingdom.

Jordanian Hajj Mission Pilgrims Begin Journey to Arafat This Evening - Jordan News
The Jordanian Hajj mission will begin transporting its pilgrims to Arafat after the evening (Isha) prayer today, according to the Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, Dr. Mohammad Al-Khalayleh. اضافة اعلان The minister previously explained that Jordanian pilgrims spend one night in Arafat and two nights in Mina. Camps for Jordanian pilgrims in Arafat have been fully equipped with sufficient air conditioners, fans, refrigerators, and water coolers. Each pilgrim will also be provided with a portable and adjustable 'sofa bed,' along with pillows, bed sheets, and services for both hot and cold meals and beverages, Al-Khalayleh added. He noted that there are approximately 150 tents in Arafat, each accommodating a varying number of pilgrims — some for 50 pilgrims and others with double the capacity. Three dedicated medical clinics will also be available in Arafat for Jordanian pilgrims. During an inspection tour in Mina, Al-Khalayleh confirmed the readiness of the camps in terms of infrastructure and services, ensuring the comfort and safety of pilgrims while performing their rituals. He also emphasized that all logistical arrangements have been completed, including the provision of water, air conditioning, healthcare services, and medical teams, as well as accompanying religious and media guidance teams to ensure a smooth and reassuring pilgrimage experience. Mohammad Hakim, CEO of the Hajj Sector at Mecca Construction and Development Company, told Al-Mamlaka TV that the Jordanian Hajj mission will operate three service centers in Mina, staffed around the clock to handle any emergency malfunctions. Regarding meals, Hakim stated that breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be provided around the clock. As for electricity, he confirmed that power loads have been increased and tested in advance to avoid any outages during the Hajj season. Each tent in Mina accommodates around 35 pilgrims, with some tents holding up to 70, depending on location and size. This Hajj season, around 8,000 pilgrims from Jordan are performing the pilgrimage, in addition to 4,500 pilgrims from the 1948 Palestinian territories. They are accompanied by a mission of guides, administrators, medical staff, and media personnel dedicated to supporting and caring for the pilgrims.
