Tanuj Virwani Files Complaint After Trusted Spot Boy Caught Stealing From Home
Last Updated:
Actor Tanuj Virwani revealed how he caught his spot-boy stealing personal belongings and handed him over to the police.
Tanuj Virwani's 10-year-old spot boy has been caught stealing personal belongings from the actor's Mumbai residence. The Inside Edge actor recently opened up about the shocking incident, revealing how the thefts went unnoticed for months. It wasn't until Tanuj and his family noticed that things were going missing one by one. Later, some of the stolen goods were recovered from the spot boy's bag.
In a recent interview with Bollywood Bubble, Tanuj revealed, 'Of late, we had been noticing that a lot of items in our home, starting from the currency of other countries where we travelled or other expensive items like watches and stuff have just been going missing. To be honest, we aren't the kind of family who prefers keeping CCTV at home. We ideally believe in trusting our people."
The Rana Naidu 2 actor went on to reveal that the spot boy had a lot of access to the things. 'We believe in trusting our staff, and we believe in treating them like our family. We don't discriminate. So, when we found out, we went through his bags and we got to recover some items. However, many items like watches and other stuff haven't been recovered yet."
After the theft came to light, Tanuj Virwani's family approached the Mumbai Police, who quickly swung into action and are currently investigating the matter, with the spot boy being questioned. 'I believe it is truly the best police in the world and they were swift to come in and take action. As of now, they are going to be interrogating him," he revealed.
Reflecting on the incident, Tanuj Virwani emphasised the importance of being vigilant, saying, 'Well, we have to be a lot more mindful. To be honest, what happened earlier this year in the whole Saif Ali Khan case was a massive eye-opener. It doesn't matter how good your society or building security is. Sometimes, the traitors can just be in your very home."
On the work front, Tanuj Virwani made his debut in Bollywood with the film Luv U Soniyo in 2013. He has since worked in films like Purani Jeans, One Night Stand and Yodha. Now, the actor is gearing up for the release of his upcoming web series Rana Naidu 2, alongside Rana Daggubati.

Fatima Sana Shaikh says her comment about casting couch in South films was ‘blown up': It wasn't as big a deal
Actor Fatima Sana Shaikh has said that she wants to clarify a 'misconception' surrounding her comment about casting couch in the South film industries. Speaking with News18, Fatima shared that she spoke about a particular incident but the entire South film industry isn't like that. She added that what she shared was "taken out of context and blown up". Earlier this year, Fatima spoke about an interaction with a casting agent for a South Indian film and how his insinuations made her uneasy. (Also Read | Fatima Sana Shaikh details her experience with casting couch in South films: 'He asked, you will do everything, right?') Fatima said that she dealt with her casting couch experience and moved on. "I want to clear the air. All of this is a misconception. It's not like the entire South film industry is like that. It was just one particular incident that happened. I was talking about it in passing and suddenly, it became like this huge thing. It was not necessary. Every woman goes through this. A woman may walk down the street and have a man hit on her or catcall her. It exists everywhere and in every industry. I don't know why my words were taken out of context and blown up. It's nonsense! It's something that happened. I dealt with it and moved on," she said. Fatima added that "everyone goes through such things". She continued, 'It wasn't as big a deal as it was made to look. Everybody goes through such things. The person in question was a small-time producer or a casting director. It doesn't become a whole representation of what the South film industry is." In January, Fatima talked to Bollywood Bubble about how an agent asked her to be ready with everything. "He asked me, 'You will be ready to do everything, right?' I told him that I will be working hard and will do what is required for the role, but he kept saying that, and I played dumb because I wanted to see how low can he get,' she said. Talking about another incident in Hyderabad, Fatima added, 'The producers would talk about it very openly, 'You know, here you have to meet people'. They wouldn't say things outright but would imply them in strange ways. Of course, they'd say it indirectly, but make their intentions clear. They'd say things like, 'You have to meet people', or 'You have to do this and that'.' Fatima and Vijay Varma will be seen together in the upcoming film Gustaakh Ishq. Directed by Vibhu Puri, the film also stars Naseeruddin Shah and Sharib Hashmi. She also has Anurag Basu's Metro In Dino in the pipeline. The film also stars Anupam Kher, Neena Gupta, Sara Ali Khan, Aditya Roy Kapur, Konkona Sen Sharma, Pankaj Tripathi, and Ali Fazal. The movie will release in theatres on July 4.

Mumbai police officers receive union home minister medal for investigation excellence
Mumbai: Three officers from the Mumbai Police , including a Deputy Commissioner of Police, were among those awarded the prestigious Union Home Minister's Medal for Excellence in Investigation. The awards were presented by Maharashtra DGP Rashmi Shukla at a special ceremony held in Pune. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 3) Krishnakant Upadhaya, Senior Inspector Pramod Toradmal of Kurla Police Station, and Inspector Dipshika Vare were recognised for their outstanding work in cracking complex and sensitive cases. DCP Upadhaya was honoured for leading the investigation into the mysterious murder of Sarpanch Gurunath Katare in Solapur. Initially facing a dead-end, Upadhaya's team identified and arrested three individuals involved in the murder, which stemmed from a personal rivalry. Despite 10 witnesses, including the complainant, turning hostile, the case ended in a conviction. Inspector Toradmal solved a 2016 Navi Mumbai case where a partially decomposed female body was found. Though initially believed to be around 60 years old, forensic work led Toradmal's team to identify her as a 40-year-old woman. The accused, a 20-year-old roadside vendor, was arrested after it was found he killed her in a rage after she resisted his advances.
