Phillip Schofield's daughter Molly breaks silence on ‘secret wedding' after she is flooded with well-wishes

The Sun12-05-2025
PHILLIP Schofield's daughter Molly has addressed rumours that she had married in secret after being congratulated by fans.
The former This Morning star's eldest child, 32, took to social media to clear up the misunderstanding.

It comes after a local media outlet reported that Molly had tied the knot in front of her family and friends.
It also suggested that the mystery groom would leave fans stunned.
This prompted her followers to reach out to her with well wishes.
Molly seemed bemused and insisted it wasn't true.
She shared a photo of the headline and wrote: "Sounds like it would have been lovely day - if any shred of this was true.
"Can confirm I am not married, but thank you to the many people who were misled and have congratulated me."
Molly relatively keeps out of the spotlight but last October she was forced to hit back at cruel trolls after he made his TV return in Cast Away.
The shamed TV presenter, 62, made his comeback to screens on in Channel 5 's Cast Away, a documentary series where he was stranded on a desert island for 10 days.
Phil shares daughters Molly and Ruby with wife Stephanie Lowe, and the three women appeared on the show for a goodbye dinner before he headed off.
Watch as Phillip Schofield recounts the exact moment his agent rang to tell him he had been 'sacked' from This Morning
Phil and Steph split after he came out as gay in 2020. He later confessed to an "unwise but not illegal" affair with a much younger male colleague.
After the first episode of Cast Away aired, Molly was forced to take to social media to slam cruel trolls.
She reposted a comment which read: "So if she's so proud of him why does she use her mother's name and go by Molly Lowe?
"That's a recent change. She was always Schofield and no doubt happy to use it..."
But Molly fired back: "I'm Molly Schofield... and proud to be." She added a middle finger emoji to drive her point home.
During the three-episode series, Phil blamed his brother for being "fired" from his lucrative This Morning and Dancing on Ice gigs.
In April 2023, Timothy Schofield was convicted of 11 sexual offences involving a child – including emotionally blackmailing a child into sex acts.
Phillip believed the discovery of Timothy's crimes caused ITV to edge him out before firing him.
However, according to The Mirror, ITV insiders are highly refuted the claims, saying: 'Phillip's new comments are simply untrue, he is lying again."
Instead, they claim he quit when the fallout of the conviction – combined with his 'unwise but not illegal' affair with a 19-year-old runner on This Morning – became too much.
'We stood by him through his brother's court case and he then stepped away when things became too much,' the source said.
'He then admitted himself he had been lying about an affair and he resigned from ITV altogether.
'We didn't sack him, he lied to us and then he resigned, there is not much else to say and we as a network just want to move on."

I've had so many compliments on this sell-out Marks & Spencer lace skirt - here's how to wear the latest version

Those satin slip skirts with lingerie-like lace trims? Lovely, but a bit clingy if you've ever had a baby/have just eaten a massive lunch. White midi skirts? I love the freshness, but can guarantee I'd have tea or toothpaste on there within five minutes. The lace maxi skirt however - now that is a trend I've got on board with, and I'm very pleased with my purchase. I bought Marks & Spencer's lace tiered maxi skirt earlier this year, and have been wearing it consistently throughout the warmer months, getting compliments from the discerning bunch at You magazine every time. It's clearly not just me that loves the skirt - it sold out quickly from M&S stores and online, much to the disappointment of a tres chic colleague who wanted to buy one too. However, the other day I was browsing the Marks & Spencer website when I came across a very similar style from the brand, the Lace Maxi Tiered Skirt (£50). One thing I really rate about M&S clothing is that a lot of their separates come in different lengths, which is helpful if you are 5 foot 9 like me, and a regular length maxi lands more like mid-calf than near the floor. Lace Maxi Tiered Skirt £50 Shop As well as the length of the skirt, I have also appreciated its versatility. You can dress it up for the office, or go super casual at the weekend with trainers and a tee. My only big warning would be to keep an eye on your footwear - I once wore biker-style buckled sandals with my skirt, and spent the whole day grimacing as hardware caught on lace and threatened to rip the skirt part (thank god to the fashion team at You magazine, who let me borrow some less threatening flats). Here are some of the key ways I've been styling the lace maxi... How to style a lace maxi skirt Outfit 1: Silk shirt and sandals Outfit 2: Oversized bomber and baby tee Outfit 3: Smart cardigan and suede shoes Outfit 4: Fine knit and trainers To get more of what you love from your favourite Sunday supplement, follow us on Instagram (@youmagazine), Facebook (YOU Magazine) and X (@YOUMagSocial).

ITV Loose Women pulled from air amid budget cuts as host begs viewers to 'get involved'

Loose Women has been removed from screens for the rest of the week with one of the hosts making a desperate plea to viewers. Loose Women has been taken off air for the rest of the week in yet another scheduling shake up for the broadcaster. The ITV chat show features a host of stars including Ruth Langsford, Coleen Nolan and Olivia Attwood discussing the hot topics of the day, and it normally airs on weekdays at lunchtimes. ‌ However, on Tuesday's episode of Loose Women, host Christine Lampard welcomed a new presenter onto the set alongside her co-stars Denise Welch, Janet Street-Porter and Jane Moore, while JoJo Siwa later appeared to open up about her relationship with Chris Hughes. Meanwhile, Lee Peart, who is a stand up comedian that has acted as the warm up act for the show's live studio audience for a number of years, was brought out on live television to present the competitions segment for that day. ‌ The role is normally covered by the likes of This Morning's Josie Gibson or Big Brother winner Kate Lawler among others and often is reported on live from various abroad locations. When Lee made his debut on the programme to let viewers know how they could be in with a chance of winning £60k, he dropped the bombshell that the Loose Women ladies will not be on screens over the coming days. ‌ Christine later confirmed his announcement which is due to the racing, the Mirror reports. He said: "Lines close on Friday and I will say, this is actually the last Loose Women of the week, so get your entry in if you want to do that!" It comes amid a series of extensive budget cuts for ITV, which will see both Loose Women and the Lorraine show being cut down to 30 weeks a year. Earlier this year, it was revealed that ITV soaps Coronation Street and Emmerdale will also be slashing their cast members in an attempt to cut costs. During the weeks that Lorraine Kelly is not on air, Good Morning Britain will run in her place from 6am to 10am. ‌ Meanwhile, This Morning will remain in its 10am to 12:30pm slot on weekdays throughout the year and Loose Women will be in the 12.30-1.30pm slot for a seasonal basis of 30 weeks too. Kevin Lygo, Managing Director of ITV's Media and Entertainment Division, explained of the huge changes: "Daytime is a really important part of what we do, and these scheduling and production changes will enable us to continue to deliver a schedule providing viewers with the news, debate and discussion they love from the presenters they know and trust as well generating savings which will allow us to reinvest across the programme budget in other genres. "I recognise that our plans will have an impact on staff off screen in our Daytime production teams." He continued: "We will work with ITV Studios and ITN as they manage these changes to produce the shows differently from next year, and support them through this transition. "Daytime has been a core element of ITV's schedule for over 40 years and these changes will set ITV up to continue to bring viewers award winning news, views and discussion as we enter our eighth decade."

Popular BBC presenter QUITS after a whopping 29 years with broadcaster - admitting 'I don't know what comes next' as they're flooded with support from fans

Investigative journalist Tony Smith has announced that he is leaving the BBC after working with the broadcaster for three decades. The TV personality announced his departure on X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday, admitting to his followers that now feels like the right time to leave and 'try something new'. Sharing a snap of himself holding a camera at sunset, Tony shared: 'Heading off into the sunset. Some personal news. After 29 years, today is my last day at BBC News. 'It's been amazing but the offer of redundancy was too good to turn down - and it felt like a good time to try something new. Not sure what comes next - watch this space.' Following his announcement, fans flocked to the comment section to wish the star well on his future endeavours. One user wrote: 'Sorry to hear that, but I expect you will have fun on the other side!' Another stated: 'All the very best Tony for whatever comes next.' While someone else added: 'All the very best Tony, have a ball!' In 1997, Tony began his career at the BBC as a journalist working for the news channel. In his first decade with the broadcaster, he reported from places all around the world, including Asia, Africa, and The Americas. He also took home the prestigious Home News Award at the Royal Television Society for his story on racism in Northern Ireland. Tony also covered huge global events such as Brexit and the COVID-19 pandemic following his promotion to Senior Broadcast Journalist in 2010. Tony is following in the footsteps of Jordan North, Clara Amfo, and news presenter Mishal Husain, who all departed the corporation last year. In February last year, Jordan, 35, stepped down from his Radio 1 show after a decade to reportedly replace Roman Kemp as the Capital Breakfast host. Following Jordan's huge announcement, it was revealed at the time that Jamie Laing, 35, would take his place - Monday to Thursday, 3.30pm to 6pm - next to radio co-host Vick Hope. Thankful for all the support from his listeners, Jordan – who also hosts the Help I Sexted My Boss podcast – took to Instagram to thank his 834,000 followers for their positive reaction. Sharing an album of throwback snaps of his time at the station, Jordan captioned his update: 'Hello everyone. 'I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank all my wonderful colleagues / talented producers at Radio 1 who many I consider to be friends for life and will miss greatly, you've all reached out to me over the past 24 hours and it really has meant a lot. 'To my amazing fellow presenters I wish I could thank you all personally, I've loved working with you it's been an absolute blast! Big love to Katie Thisleton, Greg James, Arielle Free, Ricky, Melvin & Charlie, Dean & Vicky, Clara Amfo, Matt & Molly, Scott Mills, Grimmy, all the rest of you fantastic lot, and of course my partner in crime Vick Hope…I'll miss being on air with you every day. 'MOST IMPORTANTLY the biggest of thank yous to the fantastic listeners who have been really generous and always made me feel welcome, your kind words & messages have been so lovely, THANK YOU SO MUCH. Thankful for all the support from his listeners, Jordan – who also hosts the Help I Sexted My Boss podcast – took to Instagram to thank his 834,000 followers for their positive reaction 'I'll be back soon, and can't wait to see you all again.' But not all fans were left happy after the announcement, as some fled to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share their upset. One penned: 'Why do the good ones always leave?' 'Really hope this was your decision @jordannorth1 and that it means bigger things for you - we love you and will miss you v much xx.' He now co-hosts the Capital Breakfast show on Capital FM alongside Chris Stark and Sian Welby.
