Oman participates in 37th meeting of heads of GCC Olympic Committees
MUSCAT: Represented by Oman Olympic Committee (OOC), the Sultanate of Oman participated in the 37th meeting of heads of GCC Olympic Committees, held in Kuwait today.
Oman was represented at the meeting by Dr Abdullah bin Khamis Ambusaidi, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Education for Education, Deputy Chairman of Oman Olympic Committee.
The meeting looked into the report filed by the organising committee of the 3rd GCC Beach Games (Muscat 2025) held in Muscat Governorate from April 5 to 11, 2025.
The meeting's participants expressed thanks and gratitude to the Sultanate of Oman for the efforts it made to ensure the success of the the 3rd GCC Beach Games. — ONA

Oman bags 10th Asian Beach Handball Championship
Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman's national beach handball team claimed victory in the 10th Asian Beach Handball Championship held in Muscat, defeating Iran in the final with a score of 2-0. The final match was attended by His Highness Sayyid Azan bin Qais Al Said, President of the Oman Olympic Committee. The match started with excitement as Oman took an early lead, guided by player Asaad Al-Hosni and outstanding goalkeeping from Hudhaifa Al-Siyabi, who played a key role in securing the win. Although Iran made a comeback attempt in the first half, Oman maintained control and finished ahead with a score of 21-18. The second half saw intense competition, with Iran equalizing at one point, but Oman ultimately asserted its dominance, securing a final score of 14-10. The NOSC also includes a 10-metre shooting range that occupies an area of 2,700 square metres, includes 80 targets and accommodates 80 shooters at one time.
