Naughty Dog's new game Intergalactic getting close to launch suggests job ad
There was plenty of excitement for Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet when it was announced at The Game Awards last year, mostly because it's the first entirely new game out of Naughty Dog since 2020.
At the time, it was said the game had been in development for several, which hopefully means it'll be out for the PlayStation 5 in either 2026 or 2027, with a new job listing suggesting it will be sooner rather than later.
Sony has said nothing about the release date, but Naughty Dog is hiring for someone to help put together promotional material for its games. And you don't do that unless they're going to be out at least relatively soon.
The job listing for a gameplay capture artist was spotted on Naughty Dog's careers website. It shows the studio is in need of someone for 'creating fresh, unique, and exciting video and still-image assets for use in public-facing campaigns by capturing them directly from Naughty Dog's entire catalogue of games.'
Admittedly, the position covers all of Naughty Dog's games, but if there's anything closer to release than Intergalactic they've given no clue as to its existence.
It does have at least one other game in development, but it hasn't been properly announced yet. Past rumours and theories have pointed to it being a fantasy game but officially nothing is known about it.

The odds of it being The Last Of Us 3 are low, since series creator Neil Druckmann is only in a producer role, and we have to imagine Naughty Dog is running out of ideas for more updates to The Last Of Us Part 2 Remastered, following the inclusion of a chronological story mode.
If anything, it'd make sense to ease off The Last Of Us for the time being, since the second season of the TV show has ended so there's no cross-promotion opportunities, at least until season three starts in 2027.
Druckmann has also chosen to leave his position as co-showrunner so he can focus on directing Intergalactic, again suggesting that this new game is the studio's priority.
So, assuming Naughty Dog's gearing up to promote Intergalactic with a new trailer and screenshots the game, or at least parts of it, are in a state the studio is happy to show off to the public.
As for when any new trailer could be shown, the next possible time would be during a new State of Play. While Sony had a meaty State of Play just a couple of months ago (followed by a Ghost Of Yōtei-centric one in July), it has traditionally held a general showcase every September since 2019, so we are due another one next month. More Trending
It'd make sense since once Ghost Of Yōtei launches in October, Sony's first party release schedule is looking awfully slim, with only Returnal follow-up Soras and Arc System Works' Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls confirmed for next year.
Alternatively, Sony and Naughty Dog could simply wait for this year's The Game Awards, which they have used in the past.
Just for comparison's sake, the June 2025 State of Play garnered over three million views on the PlayStation YouTube channel while last year's The Game Awards livestream was watched by roughly 14 million people.

Star of Amazon Prime's most violent series shares emotional post ahead of finale
Antony Starr has bid an emotional farewell to Homelander ahead of the fifth and final season of the Boys. The hit Amazon Prime Video series first hit our screens in 2019, introducing us to the abusive, bloodsoaked and brutal superheroes – aka Supes – working for a powerful company, and the gang of vigilantes hoping to bring them down. Jack Quaid, Jessie T Usher, Karl Urban, Erin Moriarty, Chace Crawford, Laz Alonso and Simon Pegg are also among the star-studded cast. The show became a huge hit and landed a string of Emmy nominations, spawning spin-off series Gen V, which focuses on young Supes attending Godolkin University to hone their powers. It was previously announced that the upcoming season would be the final outing for the gang, and Antony has shared a heartfelt message on social media after production officially wrapped. Taking to Instagram with a string of photos from his time as the head of the Supes, the 49-year-old began a lengthy post: 'Ok. Been waiting a little to let things settle and try and process the end of this show. 'Difficult (for me) to put into words what an incredible ride this has been. How much life and growth has occurred. How amazing the team is. It's truly been the highlight of my career. 'When we began, I had no idea what was coming. This juggernaut left the station and never stopped. Except for that Covid moment. Oh and the strikes. That was a thing too. But apart from those two times, it never stopped, boldly making its mark on the television landscape. There's nothing else like it. It lives in its own lane. 'And at the end of the shoot, all there really is to say is – thank you. The incredible Canadian crew. The amazing production team. The insanely talented cast. 'The people at Amazon and Sony that took a chance on this insane thing (and made the great choice in casting me) and all the other people that contributed in some way, big or small, to this beautiful, complex, warped, delicious show.' 'I love this show. And I love this character. Truly,' he continued. 'I will dearly miss heading to work, knowing what we were aiming for but never knowing where we would find ourselves by the end of the day…only that we would have fun and it would be creatively rewarding in the extreme. 'This complicated character allowed the space and range to discover and push boundaries in a way I never expected and I will always be grateful for this experience. 'And of course huge gratitude to my co-parent with this twisted gem of a character – @erickripke1. We created a monster, sir. And I will miss him, and you. Til we roll out the last season. When I'll see you. 'But this creative chapter is closed , and I'll miss it, brother.' 'And finally – massive thank you to the fans. You are the life blood. Without you, we don't get to do this. And our fans are second to none. Mad love to you….and deepest respect for your taste ;),' he added. 'Okidoke people. We cooked for the last time. Can't wait to show you what we made. TIL that day, Homelander, signing off. Xo.' Karen Fukuhara, who stars as Kimiko, replied: 'What a f**king time we had. Grateful to have had this experience with you + greatly miss it already.' Starlight actress Erin agreed: 'A gift to get to watch your masterclass in acting, let alone boogie w you during it.' A-Train's Jessie penned: 'You did a damn good job as Homelander.' 'The best villain played by the best actor! You inspire me so much, looking forward to your next iconic role, we love you and we will support you forever,' fan Elsie Bunny commented. As Dynasty Reyes added: 'You are literally the best person to play Homelander. You've brought him to life in a way I thought no actor could but you just proved how amazing and talented you are! More Trending 'This is such an incredible show and cast. I love how you all were able to bring your characters to life and play them so well.' The Boys became an instant hit when it arrived on Amazon Prime Video in 2019, leaving fans reeling with gory fights, graphic deaths and an unforgettable octopus sex scene. It has not yet been confirmed when Homelander, Starlight and co will hit our screens for the final time, but season two of Gen V will be premiering on September 17, so we can get our Supe fix. Football Manager 26 shows off revamped engine in first trailer
After cancelling last year's entry, Sega has revealed the first trailer for the long-awaited Football Manager 26. Football Manager 25 promised to be a significant overhaul for the long-running series but, after several delays, it was cancelled entirely. It was an odd situation because Football Manager games have been released annually for decades, so this means fans have had their longest wait yet for a new entry, with the last being Football Manager 2024 which dropped in December 2023. Over a year and a half later, Sega has revealed the first trailer for Football Manager 26, which briefly shows off the switch to the Unity engine. The trailer itself leans into the longer than usual wait between games. 'The wait has been long,' the narrator says. 'The build-up impossible to ignore. So much has changed, but that feeling? It never left.' While the trailer is interspersed with close-up crowd clips not from the game itself, a section showing the players walking out onto the pitch is highlighted as 'actual game footage: not final'. Developer Sports Interactive has described Football Manager 26 as 'the most immersive and visually rich' entry yet – and hopefully they don't just mean the spreadsheets. Sign up to the GameCentral newsletter for a unique take on the week in gaming, alongside the latest reviews and more. Delivered to your inbox every Saturday morning. After an agreement was struck in 2024, the next entry will sport the official Premier League licence for the first time. While there's no word on an exact release date, Sega states more news is 'coming soon'. The publisher previously slated it for autumn 2025. More Trending Along with a new engine, the cancelled Football Manager 25 was set to include women's football for the first time. In a post announcing the game's cancellation earlier this year, Sports Interactive said: 'With the launch of Football Manager 25 we set out to create the biggest technical and visual advancement in the series for a generation, laying the building blocks for a new era. 'Due to a variety of challenges that we've been open about to date, and many more unforeseen, we currently haven't achieved what we set out to do in enough areas of the game, despite the phenomenal efforts of our team.' They added: 'Through the cancellation, every effort is now focused on ensuring that our next release achieves our goal and hits the quality level we all expect.'
