Yogi to launch CM-YUVA app on MSME Day today

This app will help youth with jobs, career guidance and entrepreneurship support. A short film showing the features of the CM-YUVA programme will also be screened.
The CM will also virtually inaugurate ODOP Common Facility Centres (CFC) set up in Bareilly and Moradabad districts and distribute allotment letters to five beneficiaries of an infrastructure project in Khyamai, Aligarh.
Besides, he will launch the new 'Youth Adda' developed in Kisan Bazar, Lucknow, which will serve as a place for young people to learn entrepreneurial skills.
Cheques and toolkits will be handed out to 15 selected beneficiaries under the MSME policy, CM-YUVA and other job-focused schemes.
Under the ODOP program, five artisans will also receive toolkits.
An MoU will be signed between the Human Welfare Association and the commissioner and director of industries, aiming to secure more GI tags for local products.
The event will also be attended by Rakesh Sachan, state minister for khadi and village industries, MSME, handloom, silk and textiles, along with senior officials of the MSME department.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday alleged that the previous governments in Uttar Pradesh were too busy fueling caste-based conflicts, which left the youth of the state struggling with an identity crisis. Launching initiatives to promote entrepreneurship during a ceremony in Lucknow to mark World MSME Day, the CM said the past governments not only encouraged caste-based divisions in society but also ignored entrepreneurs. Adityanath inaugurated the 'Youth Adda' platform, launched the CM Yuva mobile app, and unveiled ODOP Common Facility Centre (CFC) projects worth Rs 18 crore for Bareilly and Moradabad. Addressing the gathering, he said before 2017, Uttar Pradesh was known for riots, mafia gangs and was one of the most unsafe states for 'daughters and traders'. Despite having come into existence in 1950, Uttar Pradesh never celebrated its Foundation Day until 2018, he said, adding, 'The previous governments were too busy dividing society along caste lines and serving their own families instead of working for the state's development. They ran the state based on family politics, where each district was controlled by a different mafia. As a result of this, people faced an identity crisis.' 'Our government does not discriminate on the basis of caste, region or language. We are committed to providing a platform to every talented youth,' he said. The CM Yuva mobile app will provide access to training, loans, and information about government schemes without bias, he said. The app, he added, will ensure that no young person needs to run from one government office to another, as everything will be available in one place digitally. The Chief Minister said UP now has over 96 lakh MSME units employing more than 2 crore people across communities. 'The government has provided a financial safety net of Rs 5 lakh and social security to these units. With a 14% share in the country's MSME sector, UP is now a leading state in this domain,' he claimed. 'The state's exports have grown from Rs 80,000 crore in 2017 to over Rs 2 lakh crore today. The per capita income has increased from Rs 46,000 to Rs 1.2 lakh, and the state's GDP has surged from Rs 12 lakh 75 thousand crore to Rs 31 lakh crore,' the CM added. He also announced the third edition of the International Trade Show from September 25 to 29 in Greater Noida. The event will serve as a global platform to showcase and promote UP's MSME products to international buyers. As many as 77 products from the state have received the GI tag, and work is underway on 75 new applications, he said. A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed with the Human Welfare Association to support artisans from all communities in protecting and promoting their products, the CM informed.

Defence forces seek more MSME participation from eastern region
1 2 3 Kolkata: Defence forces are keen to enrol more micro, small and medium enterprises from the eastern region, including Bengal, and have sought the support of leading chambers to work as a bridge with local MSMEs for defence manufacturing. At the BCC&I Atmanirbhar Bharat Award & Conclave in the city on Friday, defence officials appealed to the MSME sector to come forward. Arjun Kumar, additional director of directorate of technology development fund of DRDO, said the organisation was pushing new projects for developing indigenous capabilities. According to him, the number of projects from the eastern region was fewer compared to the south, especially Hyderabad. "There are a few companies from Assam and Bengal involved in the projects. There are 80 projects under the fund but only 4-5 from the east," Kumar added. Defence sector holds promise for start-ups, MSMEs and entrepreneurs, says ex-chief of Confederation of Indian Industry
A new ecosystem is emerging for the defence sector as private industry participation increases, said R. Nandini, former chairperson of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Southern Region, in Coimbatore on Friday (June 27, 2025). Speaking at the inauguration of The Hindu businessline MSME Growth Conclave – Coimbatore 2025, she said that micro, small and medium-scale enterprises (MSMEs) are at a pivotal moment and are navigating through a complicated international scenario. With regard to the defence sector, there is a shift in government policy and a fundamental change in the mindset of entrepreneurs too, she said. Start-ups, the MSMEs and technology innovators are contributing to national security and defence production. Coimbatore plays a significant role in this as it has its strengths in engineering, manufacturing, and high precision industries. These units are in an advantageous position to contribute and benefit from this transition of the defence sector, she added. Coimbatore has a history of strong collaboration with Germany and this should be showcased globally, she added. Raghuvir Srinivasan, Editor of The Hindu businessline, said the fifth edition of the MSME conclave, which is organised in Bengaluru annually, has expanded this year to Coimbatore. The event had panel discussions on 'Delivering a Big Bang (on defence supplies)' and 'Navigating Global Trade Disruptions'.
