Katie Price in another pet tragedy as kitten dies after birth
Katie Price has opened up on social media about her latest pet tragedy. The sad news comes after the 47-year-old told her fans that her pet sphynx cat was pregnant.
Sadly, Katie's cat Doris gave birth to "so many" kittens but one of them passed away. Katie was previously blasted by animal charities for welcoming three of the bald cats to her home in October last year, writes The Mirror.
Speaking to her Snapchat followers, the former glamour model explained that she decided to skip a family trip to the Isle of Wight to look after the new kittens. Katie went on to say that she was keeping regular feeding patterns and using electric blankets.
However, elsewhere in the cat update, the mum-of-five said she had "sad news" and added four emotional emojis. She explained: "An update on the kittens, one unfortunately died. That's the one wrapped in tissue, two hours after we fed it.
"Luckily, I'm trying to help the kittens latch on to the mum; two are just about doing it, but I'm having to put them on it, because they are so premature."
She went on: "As you can see how knackered I am, every two and a half hours through the day and through the night I'm feeding them for the mum.
"She's a good mum, and then she keeps bringing one to the bed with her; she did that earlier. I think that was a sign to come and look in the box, as one had died."
Katie then added that she thinks Doris trusts the family's actions. "So I've got two latching on to her now, so thats the update."
After panning the camera around to Doris, Katie is heard cooing: "Hey Doris good girl."
Just days earlier, on her podcast, Katie had told her sister Sophie that she was "scared" of what might happen during her pet's pregnancy. She said: "Doris is pregnant, and I don't know how many weeks she is but her belly has gotten bigger and bigger. I've noticed she's been nesting and she keeps wanting to get on me.
"I've gone and bought a separate cat litter, another bed, and all of that. I'm going to set it up in my room and leave her in my room because I've got the other cats, and I'm scared that if she goes into labour they might eat the kittens."
She later said: "I don't know how many she's going to have but I know the kids want me to keep one. And then I know what I'm like, I can't."
Katie had previously been criticised by Peta, with Elisa Allen of the organisation claiming the star has repeatedly ignored advice on pet care. She said: 'Anyone who warns Katie not to hurt the animals she takes in might as well be screaming into the wind, for all she seems to care."

Francis Ford Coppola 'hospitalised in Italy' after attending film festival
Director Francis Ford Coppola has reportedly been hospitalised in Italy. The Godfather director, 86, was in country for the Magna Grecia Festival in Calabria to present his controversial movie, Megalopolis, which stars Adam Driver, Aubrey Plaza, Shia LaBeouf, and Giancarlo Esposito. It is understood the movie director entered the hospital this morning for scheduled heart surgery but after arriving, he reportedly experienced a mild cardiac arrhythmia and was placed under observation before surgery. He spent a lot of the summer in Italy scouting locations for his new film, which is said to start filming this autumn, as reported by ANSA. While at the film festival, he said to the crowd: "Young people tell me the world is a mess, but I tell them there's no problem that humanity can't solve. We must build a great new future, and do it together for the sake of our children. And tonight, we're taking a leap into the future." The legendary director has close ties to the country after his grandfather, Agostino, emigrated from Bernalda in the early 1900s. In 1989, Francis became an honoray citizen of the town he spends a lot of his time. The Mirror have reached out to his reps for comment. Earlier this month, the Apocalypse Now director appeared at San Francisco's Palace of Fine Arts to take part in a Q&A session following a screening of Megalopolis. The decades-in-the-making project, which received mixed reviews, stars Adam Driver as a rich and tortured visionary trying to build a utopian city while rowing with a conservative mayor. The film cost a whopping $120million but grossed just over $14million worldwide. However, Coppola wasn't bothered by the box office results and said: "I lost my wife a year ago, around this time. But my attitude for death is that I always lived my life so that when I was at the moment approaching death, I wouldn't say, 'Oh, I wish I had done this and I wish I had done that.' Instead, I say to myself, 'I got to do this.'' 'I got to see my daughter win an Oscar. I got to see my father win an Oscar. I'm going to be so busy saying all the things I got to do that when I die, I'm not going to notice it. When I die, I'm not going to notice it. You know how your electric toothbrush just shuts off when you least expect it? That's what death is like.'

BBC to air The Repair Shop despite rape charges against ex-host Jay Blades
Jay Blades, the former host of The Repair Shop, was charged with two counts of rape. West Mercia Police confirmed the charges against the star and said that a magistrates' court date is set for 13 August The Repair Shop will still be airing on BBC One and BBC iPlayer on Tuesday evening after former host Jay Blades was charged with two counts of rape. West Mercia Police last night confirmed charges against the 55-year-old TV star, who stepped back from presenting The Repair Shop last year, and said that a magistrates' court date is set for Wednesday 13 August. "Jason Blades, 55, of Claverley in Shropshire, has been charged with two counts of rape," a spokesperson for the force told The Mirror this week. "He is due to appear at Telford magistrates' court on 13 August 2025." At 8pm tonight, The Repair Shop will air on both BBC One and iPlayer. However, Blades will not be featured on the episode since he stepped down last year. The experts tonight include Dominic Chinea, Suzie Fletcher, Will Kirk, Lucia Scalisi and Brenton West. The first person looking for an expert's help is a woman from Nottinghamshire with a weather-worn concrete portrait of her late father. The artwork was commissioned as a present to her late father by the women in need of Scalisi's help to restore it. Next up is a father-daughter duo, Ian and Issy, who bring in a rare and precious silver statuette of a paratrooper. It's revealed only 100 was ever made and the object belong to the father of Ian - a proud veteran of the parachute regiment. After surviving a dramatic shipwreck off the coast of Tenerife, the object was left ruined. Other people requiring the experts' help include Pari, who brings in a leather baby hammock from her childhood in Iran, and a battered flight case once owned by Trevor Bolder. Furniture restorer Jay Blades found fame on restoration programme The Repair Shop, which he started presenting in 2017. He left the programme last year. He also presented the BBC's Money For Nothing until 2020, and appeared on Celebrity Masterchef and Celebrity Bake Off as well as Comic Relief. The Mirror have reached out to the BBC for comment.

Oasis gigs at Murrayfield will have major ban enforced amid concerns about fans safety
Oasis are set to play Edinburgh's Murrayfield Stadium this weekend for the first time in fifteen years. Oasis are set to play three huge shows at Edinburgh's Murrayfield Stadium this week with a no-fly zone being put in place for the gigs. Aviation watchdogs have strictly forbidden drones over the stadium amid worries that a device could fall from the sky and injure fans below. Anyone caught using the gadgets will face a fine amid a huge security operation at Murrayfield. Similar rules were brought in for Oasis' comeback performances in Manchester's Heaton Park and Cardiff's Principality Stadium last month, the Sun reports. Brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher are set to take to the stage in Scotland for the first time in fifteen years this week. They will play three sold out shows on Friday August 9, Saturday August 10 and Tuesday August 12. A source said: 'Banning drones above the gigs is the right move. "All it takes is something to go wrong or someone who doesn't know how to properly fly a drone to make a mistake. "If one falls into the crowd people could end up badly hurt.' A Civil Aviation Authority spokesman added that the ban was 'in the public interest'. An estimated 210,000 fans are expected to flock to the Capital to attend the sold out gigs. Concert goers will face strict rules with metal water bottles, large bags, hip flasks and umbrellas among the banned items. Anyone found with knives, pyrotechnics or drugs will be reported to police immediately. A Scottish Rugby spokesman said security was 'of the upmost importance' at the gigs. The concerts clash with Edinburgh's world famous Fringe arts bash of over 3,800 shows. Police said a 'proportionate and considered plan' is in place' to keep visitors safe. A force spokesman added: 'We are working to ensure the safety of those attending events and minimise disruption.' It comes after an Oasis fan tragically fell to their death during a gig at London's Wembley Stadium on Saturday night. Lee Claydon, who has been described as a "lovely family man" sadly passed away at the gig at the weekend, having suffered 'injuries consistent with a fall'. Lee was pronounced dead at the scene after his fatal fall at the concert. Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community!
