Newsom's Map Gambit Is a Short-Term Play
Gavin Newsom is doing what he does best: seeking attention. The California governor is succeeding even as his policies fail. Denounce Donald Trump and Texas Republicans for undermining democracy, and maybe Americans will overlook how Democrats have entrenched one-party rule in California to such ill effect.
