ATP roundup: Kamil Majchrzak keeps momentum going with win at Gstaad
The 29-year-old from Poland won 70 percent of his service points in the one hour, 49-minute match at the ATP 250 clay-court event.
Peruvian qualifier Ignacio Buse ousted fifth seed Laslo Djere of Serbia 7-6(4), 1-6, 6-4. Argentine Roman Andres Burruchaga won 74 percent of his first-serve points to beat Czech competitor Dalibor Svrcina 6-3, 6-1, setting up a matchup with No. 3 seed Pedro Martinez.
Frenchman Arthur Cazaux needed nearly three hours to defeat Nikoloz Basilashvili of Georgia, who couldn't overcome nine double faults in a 4-6, 7-5, 7-6 (5) victory by Cazaux, and hometown favorite Dominic Stricker outlasted France's Pierre-Hugues Herbert, 4-6, 6-4, 6-2.
Nordea Open
Sixth-seeded Luciano Darderi faced a roller coaster of a match but ultimately prevailed over Raphael Collignon of Belgium in first-round action at the Nordea Open in Bastad, Sweden on Monday.
In a two hour, 10-minute match, the two swapped 6-2 wins in three sets, with Darderi saving six of eight break points overall, including two critical break points from 2-2, 15/40 in the decider. The 23-year-old Italian is in search of his third ATP Tour title, with his most recent title coming in April in Marrakech.
The only other main-draw singles match on Monday saw Dutchman Jesper de Jong knock down eight aces on his way to easily taking care of wild card William Rejchtman Vinciguerra, the son of former pro Andreas Vinciguerra, by a score of 6-3, 6-2.
Mifel Tennis Open
Seventh-seeded Aleksander Kovacevic edged Lebanon's Hady Habib, 6-1, 3-6, 6-3 in the first match of the main draw at the Mifel Tennis Open in Los Cabos, Mexico.
Habib broke in the third game of the deciding set, but Kovacevic answered back to knot the set at 2-2. The New York native held serve and outlasted Habib in a 13-point sixth game to take a 4-2 lead en route to the 6-3 triumph in the one hour, 48-minute match.
On the same side of the draw, Emilio Nava defeated Australia's Aleksander Vukic, 7-6 (4), 6-3. Nava ran off the final four points to prevail in the first set tie-breaker, then raced out to a 4-0 lead in the second set.
Kovacevic and Nava are both on the same side of the draw as top-seeded Andrey Rublev.

Alexander Isak to Liverpool swap transfer plan takes a blow as £65m deal nearly done
Alexander Isak is still linked to Liverpool, but a potential move looks to have taken a huge hit with another big deal in the transfer market on the verge of completion Luis Diaz's imminent move from Liverpool to Bayern Munich looks to have thwarted any potential swap deal for Alexander Isak. Diaz, 28, looks set to move to Bavaria, after Vincent Kompany's side agreed a £65.5million deal for the Colombian. The reigning Premier League champions have been active buyers in the transfer market this summer, but Diaz's exit would be a substantial sale. Liverpool's spending approached the £300m mark after they wrapped up a £79m move for Hugo Ekitike from Eintracht Frankfurt. That figure could rise still further after Isak told Newcastle he wanted to explore a move away from St James' Park, with Arne Slot's side at the front of the queue. However, Diaz's exit may put an end to recent suggestions that Newcastle could request Liverpool forward Darwin Nunez as part of a potential swap transfer for Isak. Recent reports from German outlet Bild claimed the Magpies were considering a move for Nunez after the Reds beat them to the signature of Ekitike. The Frenchman's arrival looks to have pushed their former record signing out of Slot's first-choice eleven. With Newcastle looking for a striker and Isak seemingly looking for the exit door, a potential swap deal that would have seen the Swede and the former Benfica ace switch clubs appeared to be a possibility. However, with Diaz now departing the club, any faint chance of this deal taking place looks to be over. Liverpool have just spent nearly £80m to sign Hugo Ekitike but already they've turned their attention to another striker in Alexander Isak, which could lead to some shuffling Liverpool new boy Hugo Ekitike insists he will "do what the coach asks me to do" as he maintained his versatility is one of his key attributes amid speculation that Alexander Isak could soon be joining him at Anfield. The Frenchman has just moved to the Reds from Frankfurt, joining for £79million after enjoying a breakthrough season with the German club. Ekitike was bought in and tipped to lead the line for Arne Slot's side as they look to retain their Premier League crown. However the situation surrounding Isak at Newcastle looks to have changed and it could open the door for Liverpool to break the British-transfer record for the second time in one summer. The Swede has made it clear he wants to explore his options away from St James' Park. A move to Liverpool is on his radar and that could leave Slot's new £79m signing, who was bought in to lead the line, having to move to accommodate Isak. However that appears to be something Ekitike is more than willing to do. He told the club's website: "I mean, I do what the coach asks me to do, but yeah, I like to do everything. I can't define myself only as a striker [who likes] to finish: I like to play, I like to be in the game, in the collective part of play [and] create also. So, I can do both – I can play alone and I like to play also with another striker and I think that's what makes me versatile, but you know now in this football you need to adapt." For the early part of last season Ekitike played in the Frankfurt attack with Omar Marmoush, who is now at Manchester City. It may be a case of the Frenchman either playing in tandem with Isak or being pushed out wide to allow the Swede to play centrally. Liverpool are due to bank £65m from the sale of Luis Diaz to Bayern Munich, which leaves them light of a player in attack, and now an official approach is now expected. Newcastle have made it clear they want to keep their best players, but if Isak does push for the exit door it could force the owners into making a decision. If Liverpool's offer approaches the £150m valuation they have for the player then the Magpies may be tempted to sell up and reinvest as they draw up a list of targets. Eddie Howe has confirmed that Isak will not be joining Newcastle on their pre-season tour amid all the speculation. The Magpies boss said: "The club will make the right decision with all the information that it has, and ultimately to try and move the club forward in whatever way that is. Then it's up to us to make good decisions the other way and try and improve the squad as best we can. That's what we're trying to do, regardless of Alex's situation."
