Kuwait beach volleyball team heads to Doha for the West Asian Championship

KUWAIT CITY, May 6: The Kuwait beach volleyball team has departed for Doha to compete in the inaugural West Asian Championship, scheduled to take place from May 5 to 10.
Issa Al-Saleem leads the delegation and includes women's team administrator Amal Al-Faraj and national team coach Ahmed Abdul-Razzaq. Representing Kuwait in the men's competition are Team A, featuring Abdulwahab Talib and Jassim Al-Sabbagh, and Team B, comprised of Nawaf Talal and Ibrahim Diaa. The women's Team A includes Al-Ghadeer Al-Sayegh and Dana Mansour, while Team B consists of Munira Yousef and Halima Abdullah.
Delegation head Issa Al-Saleem expressed confidence in the team's potential, despite the limited preparation period, which featured intensive daily training sessions on the Green Island courts. He praised the dedication of both the technical staff and the players in working to ensure the team is ready for this important regional event.
Al-Saleem also extended his gratitude to the Kuwait Volleyball Federation for its continued support of the national beach volleyball program.

KUWAIT CITY, July 30: The draw for the 2025-2026 indoor futsal season was conducted recently, with the presence of Dr. Saleh Al-Majroob, Secretary-General of the Kuwait Football Association, Faraj Al-Faraj, Director of Indoor Competitions, club representatives, and the administrative staff of the Kuwait Olympic team. The draw included fixtures for the league, the Federation Cup, the third edition of the Age Group Futsal Cup, as well as league and cup tournaments for youth and junior categories. Participating clubs in the futsal competitions include Kuwait Club, Al-Arabi, Qadsia, Kazma, Al-Tadhamon, Yarmouk, Al-Nasr, and Al-Sulaibikhat. Notably, the Kuwait Olympic team will make its debut in the Age Group competition as part of the federation's strategic plan to prepare and develop the team ahead of future commitments.

KUWAIT CITY, July 17: Kazma Sports Club will begin first-team training on Saturday, under the direction of Croatian head coach Dragan Tadić as it prepares for the upcoming 2024–2025 season, which officially starts with the Zain Premier League on September 12. Training sessions will be held on the club's secondary pitch No. 2 before the team departs for an overseas training camp in August, which will feature several friendly matches. After several lean years without major trophies, Kazma has been active in the transfer market, aiming to return to title contention. The club has renewed the contracts of captain Nasser Al-Faraj and goalkeeper Faisal Al-Subaie for another season. Kazma also secured the signing of midfielder Sultan Al-Enezi, who previously played for Qadsia and Al-Arabi before spending last season with Oman's Dhofar club. Additionally, they brought in Olympic national team midfielder Bandar Al-Barazi from Al-Nasr. Defender Bader Dhukrallah and forward Mishaal Al-Shammari have both extended their contracts as well. To bolster its squad further, the team signed Jordanian professionals Ali Al-Azaiza and Youssef Boujazar, while also renewing contracts for fellow Jordanians Anas Al-Awdat and Nigerian forward Samuel Enikola.

KUWAIT CITY, July 16: Kuwaiti referees Hamad Al-Faraj and Hussein Ashkanani arrived in China yesterday to officiate matches at the Asian Women's Youth Handball Championship, scheduled from July 18 to 28. Their selection reflects the Asian Handball Federation's confidence in the quality and expertise of Kuwaiti referees. Al-Faraj and Ashkanani bring extensive experience and a high level of competency, which will contribute significantly to the successful execution of the tournament's refereeing duties. In club news, Burgan Club has signed player Nasser Al-Faraj on a two-season deal to bolster the first-handball team ahead of the new season. This move follows the club's earlier signing of Serbian national team standout Jovica Nikolić as the team's third foreign professional, joining Japanese player Kasuke Yasuhira and Croatian Stipe Mandalinic. The club also renewed the contracts of key local players, including goalkeeper Mahdi Khan, Hamoud Al-Adwani, and Ahmed Mazal. Additionally, national coach Hussein Habib will continue at the helm, following a contract renewal. Burgan Club made history last season by finishing second in the Premier League for the first time, securing qualification for the upcoming AFC Club Championship.
