Randeep Hooda on getting married to Lin Laishram in Manipur: 'Was given a bowl to pee, hundreds of AK-47 were...'
Randeep Hooda, Lin Laishram tied the knot in 2023 in Manipur. And in an interview with Mid-day, the actor spilled the beans on what went behind and what all happened during the wedding ceremony.
Hooda said, 'I had a helper with me, more like a tutor. So once the groom puts his thing on his head, you can't tilt your head. You go to the ceremony and they give a bowl and an umbrella. They then put you in a holding area where everyone is supposed to come and look at you, and you are supposed to look very dignified.'
STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD
The actor added, 'And once you are in the mandap, which has got all these midang players summer-salting, and all these pandits chanting mantras, you are not supposed to move; they wrap a blanket around you. So if I sit in rest mode, the helper would correct me and say 'you have to look the best, you are god today.''
'For two hours I had to sit with my back straight and head up. Then I asked what was the bowl for and he said in case you need to pee, you just open the umbrella and pee over there, you cannot move out of there because you are god,' added the D actor.
He added, 'And when she (Lin) came, she also had a tutor. She got so much scolding. She was smiling and you are not supposed to smile, so messengers would come and tell you 'stop smiling'. But we all were so taken in. The Haryanvi culture and the Manipuri culture is so different even though both produce the best boxers and sportsmen. Our is so rough and crass and their's is so systematic. She was wearing so much gold and I was like 'chalo ek picture toh yahin bann gayi (now a film can be made)'. It was a civil war going there and as soon as the pheras finished, hundreds of AK-47 went off in the air.'

Shah Rukh Khan Gives MAJOR Update On King: ‘Insha Allah Will Be Done Fast'
Shah Rukh Khan's witty reply during #AskSRK wins fans! The superstar revealed an update on his next film King with Suhana Khan, assuring fans that shooting will resume soon. Shah Rukh Khan, last seen in Dunki, has left his fans eagerly awaiting his next big-screen outing. The superstar is set to headline King, a high-octane action thriller where he stars alongside his daughter Suhana Khan. The film, already touted as one of the most ambitious projects of his career, has now hit a slight roadblock due to health concerns. During his trademark #AskSRK session on X (formerly Twitter), a fan asked him when his next film would release. In his witty yet candid response, SRK wrote, 'Did some good shoot… starting soon again. Only leg shots then move to upper body… Insha Allah will be done fast. @justSidAnand is working hard to finish." While his optimism reassured fans, reports indicate that King's production schedule has been temporarily affected by the actor's recent injury. Did some good shoot….starting soon again. Only leg shots then move to upper body….Insha Allah will be done fast. @justSidAnand is working hard to finish. — Shah Rukh Khan (@iamsrk) August 16, 2025 According to Mid-Day, the filming has been delayed after SRK sustained a shoulder strain while shooting an intense action sequence at Golden Tobacco Studio in Mumbai. Sources close to the production revealed that although the injury is not life-threatening, it required medical attention abroad. SRK has since flown to the United States for precautionary treatment, and doctors have reportedly advised him to take at least a month's break. The disruption has forced the makers to pause schedules that were originally lined up at Film City, Golden Tobacco, and YRF Studios through July and August. The next phase of shooting is expected to resume around September or October, depending on his recovery. Despite the delay, expectations from King remain sky-high. The film sees SRK as a seasoned assassin operating within the dark underworld, while Suhana plays his protégé, training for dangerous missions. The ensemble cast includes Deepika Padukone, Anil Kapoor, Rani Mukerji, Arshad Warsi, Abhay Verma, and Raghav Juyal. Anil Kapoor reportedly essays the role of SRK's mentor and handler, guiding him through the perilous world of espionage. With international stunt coordinators on board, King promises edge-of-the-seat action on par with global blockbusters. Though unconfirmed, industry reports hint at a possible 2027 release window. Until then, fans remain patient, keeping their 'fingers crossed" just as SRK himself said. First Published: Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. Step inside Parineeti Chopra, Raghav Chadha's Delhi bungalow with large, lush garden as they celebrate Independence Day
Everyone is bathed in the colours of the national flag this Friday. Bollywood star Parineeti Chopra has shared pictures from a colourful Independence Day celebration at home with her husband, Member of Parliament, Raghav Chadha. Parineeti Chopra and Raghav Chadha hang out in their garden on Independence Day. I-Day celebrations at home The photos show them at their home in Delhi's Pandara Road, enjoying a delicious lunch and hanging out in their lush garden. Parineeti wore a white kurta pyjama and Raghav chose an orange shirt, likely inspired by the tricolor. Parineeti also showed the lunch spread, all in whites, oranges and greens. The table was decorated with bright orange marigolds and a large banana leaf. They seemed to be feasting on chole or aloo ki sabzi with onion salad. Later, they stepped out into the garden for a breezy hang on a rainy afternoon in Delhi. Parineeti captioned her post, 'An afternoon at home, drenched in the colours of our country and family love. 🇮🇳 Happy Independence Day.' Fans of the couple also wished them on the day. 'Happy Independence Day to the cutest and best couple. How much I love you guyssss,' read a comment. "Happy Independence Day! Just like our nation's vibrant spirit, your journey reflects energy, dedication, and an ever-smiling optimism. May this day of freedom inspire you to keep soaring higher, taking Indian cinema to new horizons. Jai Hind!" About Parineeti and Raghav Parineeti and Raghav got married in September 2023. Recently, they appeared together on The Great Indian Kapil Show for a special episode. On the show, Kapil shared a personal story about how his mother had instantly switched to 'grandkid mode' the moment his wife stepped into the house, urging the couple to plan early—or be ready for the inevitable pressure. Right after, Raghav dropped a playful bomb, saying, 'Denge, aapko denge… good news jaldi denge! (We'll give you good news soon!).' Parineeti's face was a mix of surprise and barely contained laughter. When Kapil teased, 'Good news aa raha hai kya? Laddu bantne lage kya?' (Was there good news? Were sweets already being distributed?), Raghav, with a sly grin, replied, 'Denge (we will give it)… eventually.'
