Things got worse for Sanjay and his addiction after Nargis passed away. Priya said, 'Mom's passing away really took a toll on him… Mom often warned him that his movie has to be released and that she will be there for him."
However, Nargis passed away three days before Rocky's release. Things got worse for Sanjay after he lost his mother. 'This was extremely hard on him that she was not able to see his debut movie. Rocky's premiere happened and we kept a seat empty for mom next to papa", Priya recalled. Although Rocky was a hit, Sanjay's life went haywire due to his addiction, and he needed rehab.
