WWE superstar CM Punk has finally shared the detailed story and personal significance behind one of his most recognizable tattoos: the Pepsi logo on his shoulder. On the June 4, 2025, episode of WWE Tattooed, he explained its connection to his straight-edge lifestyle and punk rock look.
Punk began by acknowledging the tattoo's prominence over his career. "I guess I'd be remiss to not mention the Pepsi tattoo. I think that one historically has gotten the most attention," he stated.
He then delved into its inspiration. It came from the influential 1980s hardcore punk band Minor Threat, widely credited with popularizing the straight edge subculture that typically involves abstinence from alcohol, tobacco, and recreational drugs.
"The story with the Pepsi tattoo is there is a band called Minor Threat that started in the early 80s in Washington, D.C. that is widely known to have started the straight edge subculture," Punk explained.

"And the guitarist Brian Baker was asked in an interview I read while I was in detention, 'Do you have a Coca-Cola tattoo? Why do you have a Coca-Cola tattoo?' And his response is, 'I like Coca-Cola.'" This simple, defiant answer deeply resonated with a young Punk.

"And I was that's just punk rock right there. I don't like Coke. I like Pepsi," Punk continued, connecting it to his own identity. "I'm a Midwest kid at heart, so I got a Pepsi tattoo." He emphasized that the choice was far more profound than a mere beverage preference.
"That tattoo represents me being straight edge, and that's really it," Punk clarified. "It seems silly to put a corporate logo on yourself, but it really has a deeper meaning, and it means so much more to me than just soft drink."
For CM Punk, the Pepsi logo is a personal emblem of his commitment to the straight edge lifestyle, a core tenet of his identity throughout his wrestling career and public life. His recent return to WWE in late 2023 and his current involvement.
This includes winning a Money in the Bank qualifying match on June 2nd, Raw, despite recovering from injury, which has brought renewed focus to his iconic persona and its symbols.

WWE Money In The Bank 2025: Date, Time And How To Watch
Technically, Money in the Bank is not a 'Big 4' premium live event, but those who know understand how big of a role the MITB briefcase plays in the WWE story over the course of the year. This year's version shouldn't be much different. Here's the info you need to watch the event. Money in the Bank 2025 takes place Saturday, July 6, live from the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California. This marks the first WWE Premium Live Event hosted at the new venue. The show is set to begin at 7 p.m. ET / 4 p.m. PT, with a kickoff show scheduled for one hour prior. For U.K. fans, that's a midnight start time. In the U.S., fans will need an active Peacock Premium subscription to stream the show live. In the UK, fans can watch on Netflix. This year's card is already loaded with high-profile matches. The men's and women's Money in the Bank ladder matches feature a blend of main event talent and fast-rising newcomers. For the men, names like Seth Rollins, LA Knight, and Solo Sikoa are already established stars with an imprint in the WWE fabric while Penta and Andrade have an opportunity to take serious steps on the WWE journey. El Grande Americano is the real sleeper as it is clear WWE believes in Chad Gable and they may want to deliver something unexpected with his character. Could he win the MITB but be faced with a dilemma about revealing his true identity? Did El Grande Americano win the MITB or was it Gable? The women's match is equally stacked, with Naomi, Rhea Ripley, Alexa Bliss, Roxanne Perez and standout newcomers Stephanie Vacquer an Giulia all vying for the contract. Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso will team up to face John Cena and Logan Paul in a high-profile tag team match that bridges generational lines. It's a wild blend of legacy, mainstream crossover, and storyline tension with championship implications just under the surface–especially if the winner of the men's MITB tries to cash in on Cena or Uso. Even in a post-WrestleMania world, Money in the Bank has stayed relevant because of its volatility. The contract hanging above the ring is a gimmick that works and helps to shape the careers of stars at different points in their careers. It gave Rollins arguably his defining moment. It elevated Damian Priest last year, though it's seemingly been fumbled since. Perhaps it'll serve as the launch pad for Saturday night's winners.

Tyrese Haliburton cements himself as Knicks villain in one insane moment
Tyrese Haliburton embraced his role as the heel twice last year at MSG, both when the Pacers knocked out the Knicks in seven games in the second round of the playoffs and over the summer in a clash with Jalen Brunson at a WWE event. Haliburton's level of hatred from the Garden crowd doesn't yet match the wrath the New York fans felt for Indiana predecessor Reggie Miller back in the '90s, but it's getting closer with the Pacers providing some heartbreak for the Knicks in the playoffs for the second straight year, the latest being Wednesday night's furious comeback win in Game 1 of the conference finals. Tyrese Haliburton enacts the choke symbol after thinking he hit the game-winning shot in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals on May 21, 2025. AP Haliuburton heard a few chants of 'overrated' from the crowd, but he nailed the game-tying shot with his foot on the 3-point arc at the regulation buzzer before the Pacers pulled out a 138-135 overtime victory. Advertisement He even directed a Miller-esque choke sign at the Garden crowd when he thought he'd won the game before a replay review determined his foot was on the line. 'Everybody wanted me to do it last year at some different point, but it's gotta feel right. It felt right at the time, but if I would've known it was a 2, I would not have done it,' Haliburton said afterward. 'I might have wasted it.' Tyrese Haliburton of the Indiana Pacers makes a choking gesture after he hits a jump shot. Jason Szenes / New York Post It was the Knicks who wasted a double-digit lead after coming back from three of those in the previous series against the Celtics. Haliburton finished with 31 points — 12 fewer than Brunson's 43 — while also recording 11 assists. Advertisement 'Tyrese has earned the right to do whatever he wants,' Pacers coach Rick Carlisle said of the choking gesture. 'But this fan base is difficult enough to deal with without getting into a lot of unnecessary words. We have great respect for these guys.' The two-time All-Star point guard averaged 21.3 points and 7.0 assists in the second-round series against the Knicks last year, and he renewed his friendly rivalry with Brunson for a chance to reach the NBA Finals. Haliburton responded, 'I'll be back' and 'you don't want to see me again.' Now, both Haliburton and Brunson are looking to help their respective teams end lengthy droughts without reaching the NBA Finals. Haliburton only managed four points in the first quarter, but the Pacers nailed their first eight FG attempts and 10-of-11. Pacers celebrate with Tyrese Haliburton at Madison Square Garden. Jason Szenes / New York Post He scored seven straight Indiana points at one point of the second, and 10 overall in the quarter, but the Knicks led 69-62 at the half. Advertisement And he showed in the second half that he's fully capable of a Miller-esque moment. 'I've seen that 'Winning Time' doc probably like 50 times growing up, so I know [the Pacers] didn't win the series,' Haliburton said, referring to a series loss to the Knicks in the 1994 ECF. 'So I would not like to repeat that. But I think that was a historic moment, and that obviously was more [Miller] vs. Spike [Lee], kind of a one-on-one. And [mine] just felt like it was to everybody. Tyrese Haliburton of the Indiana Pacers makes a choking gesture as he celebrates with his teammates. Jason Szenes / New York Post 'But I think it's really cool to make my own history and for this group to make our own history, while also showing respect and love to those who came before us.'
