Sylvanian Drama: Lawsuit against creator dropped by toy company
The creator first found viral fame during the Covid-19 pandemic, using the dolls to create soap opera-style scenarios - such as murders and affairs. Video captions included "My marriage is falling apart" and "My boyfriend won't post me on Instagram".By contrast, Sylvanian Families - known as Calico Critters in the US - are marketed as "an adorable range of distinctive animal characters with charming and beautiful homes, furniture and accessories".Characters have names like Freya the Chocolate Rabbit girl, Ambrose the Walnut Squirrel baby and Pino the Latte Cat baby.In its lawsuit, Epoch claimed that the creator had advertised "other brands", including Kate Spade, Marc Jacobs, Burberry, and Netflix using the toys. In a countersuit, Ms von Engelbrechten claimed that the accounts were "parody".However, on 8 August, Epoch dropped its suit, voluntarily dismissing all claims "without prejudice," with each side covering its own legal costs.
On the same day, Thea broke her social media silence, posting on Instgram: "Hi guys, on the 19th August I will be changing the name and profile picture of this account."I'm not sure what to change it to yet so please let me know if you have any suggestions". Newsbeat has reached out to Ms von Engelbrechten for comment.

Courtney Stodden makes shock claim about Chrissy Teigen four years after cyberbullying scandal erupted
Courtney Stodden has claimed she sent a friendly message to Chrissy Teigen only to be 'completely ignored,' four years after their cyberbullying scandal erupted. Back in 2011, Courtney shot to notoriety after her acting coach Doug Hutchison married her when she was just 16 years old and he was 50. Chrissy, 39, brutally trolled the teenager online in her early days of fame, tweeting for example that her 'fantasy' was for Courtney to take a 'dirt nap.' In 2021, fans dredged up some of Chrissy's old tweets and furiously denounced her for her viciousness towards Courtney - who publicly claimed that when she was still underage, she had gotten private messages from Chrissy urging her to kill herself. The controversy torpedoed Chrissy's then stratospheric career, but in the intervening years she has been gingerly navigating a return to the spotlight, most recently with an appearance on Meghan Markle 's cooking show With Love, Meghan. When the series was hit with backlash for having Chrissy on, Courtney defended her publicly and - she says - sent her a supportive message that was met with silence. Daily Mail has contacted Chrissy's representatives for comment. Courtney, who left Doug in 2020 and has since described him as a 'groomer,' made her claim about Chrissy on Instagram this Friday. 'I have been getting a lot of people asking me how I feel about Meghan Markle having Chrissy Teigen on Love, Meghan, her new cooking show,' she said. 'And my response to it is that I do not believe people should be bullying Chrissy. Have we learned anything? Two wrongs do not make a right,' Courtney argued. 'I posted about this, and I saw Chrissy Teigen was on my Instagram watching my Story, so I decided to reach out to Chrissy on DM and tell her that I'm here if she needs to talk and I do not believe people should be bullying her and she shouldn't be listening to anyone who's bullying her.' Courtney then alleged that Chrissy 'has completely ignored me,' offering a tart smile to the camera before concluding with a pointed: 'Yeah.' Earlier this year, Courtney shared that she drafted a suicide note after being deluged with scathing comments from social media trolls, particularly Chrissy. In 2012, Chrissy had responded to one of Courtney's posts by writing: 'I hate you,' and in 2011 the wife of John Legend had tweeted: '.@CourtneyStodden my Friday fantasy: you. dirt nap. mmmmmm baby.' 'Saying this to a child when you're the queen of Twitter... it was so much,' Courtney said in the ABC News documentary IMPACT x Nightline: Confessions of a Child Bride. 'I had a suicide letter written. I remember my last thought was: "Maybe I don't deserve to be here when people that high up are telling me I don't deserve to be."' Though the tweets were from nearly a decade prior, the blowback against Chrissy only gathered steam in 2021, intensified by an interview Courtney gave that May. 'She wouldn't just publicly tweet about wanting me to take "a dirt nap" but would privately DM me and tell me to kill myself,' Courtney alleged to the Daily Beast. 'Things like: "I can't wait for you to die."' As the online anger against Chrissy reached a fever pitch, she issued a public apology to Courtney and also claimed to have expressed her contrition in private. 'I am ashamed and completely embarrassed at my behavior but that is nothing compared to how I made Courtney feel,' Chrissy tweeted. 'I have tried to connect with Courtney privately but since I publicly fueled all this, I want to also publicly apologize. I'm so sorry, Courtney. I hope you can heal now knowing how deeply sorry I am.' Although Courtney publicly stated that she accepted Chrissy's apology, she denied hearing from the Bring the Funny star in private. Chrissy's A-list position in Hollywood went up in flames, and she has since described herself as being a member of what she called 'cancel club.'

Cheryl Burke stuns fans by revealing what she injects in her jaw to stop teeth grinding at night
Cheryl Burke shocked her fans by revealing how she curbed grinding her teeth while she sleeps. On Friday the 41-year-old former Dancing With the Stars professional — who recently underwent a shocking transformation — addressed plastic surgery speculation on Instagram, prompting one person to ask how she 'got rid of her gummy smile.' Cheryl replied in the comments, 'I get Botox in my jaw to prevent me from grinding at night so maybe that has something to do with it?!' At the start of her caption, the star prefaced, 'Let's clear this up for the 1,000th time…' before listing what cosmetic procedures she has and hasn't had. 'Botox? Yes. Surgery? No,' she wrote before adding, ' Fillers? No. Scars? Nonexistent.' Then she explained why fans have noticed that her complexion is several shades lighter. On Friday the 41-year-old former Dancing With the Stars professional addressed plastic surgery speculation on Instagram, prompting one person to ask how she 'got rid of her gummy smile' 'Skin bleaching? Nope. My skin tone shift is just what happens when you swap tanning beds for SPF and let your natural half-Pinay, half-white self come through,' Cheryl wrote, referring to her Filipina background. She wrapped up the note by saying, 'That's it. That's the 'mystery.' You can age gracefully and still enjoy a little Botox. Stop confusing it with plastic surgery.' Since ending her turn on DWTS, the San Francisco native has become a full-time beauty influencer. Her post was punctuated by several hashtags: '#beautyover40 #makeuptips #beautytip.' Earlier this month Cheryl opened up about how she shed weight, going from 150lbs to 109lbs. In an Us Weekly cover story, she revealed the unexpected diet that helped her slim down. Divulging her daily food intake, she shared, 'I eat licorice. I have my morning fruit shake, which is more calories than any of my meals that I'm eating. 'I have to have my matcha from Peet's Coffee every morning, and if they have the warm pretzel bread, I'll get it because it's just the best thing in the world. I'm very lenient.' And she added, 'I don't weigh myself daily anymore because it was a problem. At my heaviest I was about 150.' Cheryl, who was formerly married to actor Matthew Lawrence, said she's not overly concerned with the number on the scale. 'The last time I checked, I was 109. I feel f***ing great; my energy is on another level. That 109 doesn't matter, what matters is how I feel,' she stated. And now, she said she's not actively trying to lose any more weight. Relying on meal plans provided by a delivery service called Z.E.N. has kept her on a healthy food journey. 'The food is delicious and it's portion control,' she explained of the menu, which has daily calories between 1,200 and 1,400.

Bill Maher delivers brutal jab at Hunter Biden
Bill Maher took aim at Hunter Biden after Melania Trump revealed she plans to sue him for defamation after he claimed she was introduced to Donald Trump by Jeffrey Epstein. The first lady revealed Wednesday that she will sue Hunter for $1 billion after he refused to apologize and take down a podcast video where he made the false claim. Maher, one of the few liberals who criticized the coverup of the Hunter Biden laptop story, took his shots at the troubled former First Son on his HBO show. 'Melania says she's gonna sue Hunter Biden,' he said, to immediate chuckles from the audience. 'That's not the joke part! I really like this where she says she's gonna sue him for a billion dollars.' He then explained why the first lady was suing Biden before delivering the punchline. 'If Hunter loses, it's going to be weird for him writing a woman a check because she's not a prostitute,' Maher joked to laughs and applause. Maher famously said in 2022 there was a 'conspiracy to get rid of' ex-President Donald Trump that involved suppressing the New York Post's infamous Hunter Biden laptop story. The controversy began in an interview with the Channel 5 with Andrew Callaghan podcast, where Hunter Biden cited a Daily Beast report for his claim about the first lady sourced to author Michael Wolff. The first lady's lawyer Alejandro Brito called Hunter Biden's comments 'false, defamatory, and lewd'. 'Given your vast history of trading on the names of others—including your surname—for your personal benefit, it is obvious that you published these false and defamatory statements about Mrs. Trump to draw attention to yourself,' Brito wrote in a letter, first obtained by Fox News Digital. After Mrs. Trump threatened legal action, Hunter shared his public reaction on Callaghan's show. 'F**k that. That's not going to happen,' Biden replied, after Callaghan showed him a copy of the letter. Hunter defended his comments, citing reporting from Wolff's book, and a 2019 story from the New York Times that reported Epstein was 'claiming to people that he was the one who introduced Mr. Trump to his third wife, Melania Trump'. Other media outlets backed down from the false claim, including the Daily Beast, which retracted the story and apologized. Political operative James Carville also deleted a podcast video where he made the claim and apologized. Hunter defied the lawsuit threat and vowed to take the Trumps to court, even as he estimated the lawsuit would probably cost 'millions' of dollars. 'If they want to go through the process, then they know it's going to cost them an enormous amount of money to do it,' he said. 'We gotta figure out how we're going to pay for it.' The president is championing the decision by his wife to sue Biden for his claim. 'I told her, let's go ahead and do it. I let her use my lawyers,' Trump revealed to Fox News radio host Brian Kilmeade in an interview on Thursday. 'She was very upset about it.' Trump repeated that the claim was false and easily disproven. 'Jeffrey Epstein had nothing to do with Melania and introducing,' he said, criticizing Hunter and other media outlets that aired the claim. 'But they do that to demean, they make up stories ... I mean, I can tell you exactly how ... it was another person, actually. I did meet through another person. But it wasn't Jeffrey Epstein.'
