Kate Middleton releases new video celebrating the beauty of British summer
The Princess of Wales has shared a new message with a professional video of the UK's beautiful landscapes that helped inspire her through her cancer journey.
For 2025, Kate Middleton spoke of how she has been comforted by nature over the past year, during which she received treatment for cancer.
Spreading a message of love, she has now released a second video through the Kensington Palace social media accounts highlighting the natural beauty of British summertime.
She wrote a post on X, signed off with her initial: 'Our lives flourish when we cherish the bonds of love and friendship. It has never been more important to appreciate the value of one another, and of Mother Nature. Here's to Summer. C'
Her voiceover is played over video shot by Will Warr, from TopJaw fame, depicting an idyllic vision of British summertime without the raging wildfires.
It does include awe-inspiring moments from the UK's landscape, a pollinating bee, huge trees, crashing waves, towering cliffs and children playing in sand dunes.
Catherine says: 'Summer is a season for abundance. Just as the flowers bloom and the fruits ripen, we too are reminded of our own potential for growth. It is the time to ignite our inner fire and explore our own creativity, passions, and dreams.
'As we bask in the sunlit hours, friends and families come together; playing, connecting, being present. Embracing the joy to be found in even the most fleeting of moments and shared experiences.
'Our lives flourish when we cherish the bonds of love and friendship.
'So open your hearts; sing, dance, play.
'The days are still long, so simply love, and be loved.'
The glossy production includes shots from Sheffield, Bradford, North Wales and Anglesey and the south coast of England.
It comes after a furore over her message, which led to her picture being pulled from news agencies, in a row over manipulation which dragged on for weeks and led to a public apology.
She told how discrepancies seen in the family photo were not part of some big conspiracy, but her 'amateur' attempts at picture editing.
The princess came under scrutiny following her Mother's Day message last year, which included a photo of her and her children said to have been taken by William in Windsor earlier in the week.
Questions were raised that the image – the first of the princess to have been released after she underwent abdominal surgery a few weeks earlier – may have been manipulated before it was posted on social media.
It was withdrawn by international picture agencies later the same day.
Kate publicly took the blame for the manipulated photograph and issued a personal apology for the 'confusion'.
She said: 'Like many amateur photographers, I do occasionally experiment with editing.
'I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion the family photograph we shared yesterday caused.
'I hope everyone celebrating had a very happy Mother's Day. C.'
The princess underwent a course of preventative chemotherapy after her cancer diagnosis and announced in September last year that she had completed her treatment. More Trending
In January, Kate confirmed she is 'now in remission' from cancer following a surprise visit to the Royal Marsden Hospital where she received her treatment.
A message on social media, also signed 'C', said: 'I wanted to take the opportunity to say thank you to The Royal Marsden for looking after me so well during the past year.
'My heartfelt thanks goes to all those who have quietly walked alongside William and me as we have navigated everything.
'We couldn't have asked for more. The care and advice we have received throughout my time as a patient has been exceptional.

Spain tourist warning as heatwave hits and weather alerts issued
British holidaymakers heading to Spain are being urged to take "extreme precautions" in light of the country's soaring temperatures. The heatwave could prove a shock to the system for any Brits venturing outdoors. This week, Seville has seen temperatures reach 32C, with Madrid hitting highs of 35C and Barcelona reaching 31C. And today (Saturday) temperatures are forecast to hit 33C in Barcelona, with a scorching 39C predicted for Madrid, although for Tenerife it is relatively cooler, with the mercury in the region of 27C. Spain's State Meteorological Agency (AEMET), akin to the UK's Met Office, warned: "The danger of wildfires continues at very high or extreme levels in most of Spain, despite the likelihood of showers in many areas. We are at the most critical moment of the season. Take extreme precautions." Spain has already issued a rare "red" emergency, indicating a "maximum" threat level to UK tourists, reports Birmingham Live. On X, AEMET announced: "11/08 11:36 Active warnings today and tomorrow in Spain for maximum temperatures, storms, rain, and suspended dust. Maximum warning level: red. "This, combined with the high level of sunshine typical of summer, is causing temperatures to be higher than usual for this time of year, resulting in a heat wave. "[Today, Monday] temperatures are expected to rise further in the Ebro basin, the southern and eastern thirds of the Iberian Peninsula, and the eastern Cantabrian Sea. Temperatures will begin to fall in the northwest, most noticeably in Galicia. "Temperatures will therefore continue to reach 37-39C across the interior of the Iberian Peninsula, also extending to the Júcar and Segura regions and the interior of the Basque Country, where temperatures could even exceed 40C locally. "In the lower Guadalquivir, highs could reach over 42C, and although with low probability, this threshold could also be exceeded in the Ebro Valley and the northeastern depressions, where this day is expected to be the hottest of the episode." Meanwhile, a yellow heat health warning has been issued for the UK as most parts have seen temperatures soar past 30C. This signifies the fourth summer heatwave, with England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland all grappling with blistering temperatures. Several water companies have had to impose hosepipe bans on activities such as watering gardens, washing cars and filling paddling pools.

Sky Sports' Soccer Saturday has been a huge hit with football fans for decades, but the programme has undergone a number of changes in recent seasons with varying degrees of success Soccer Saturday has long been a weekly ritual for British football fans, but the show has undergone significant changes in recent times. The immensely popular Sky Sports programme has given fans countless unforgettable moments over the years, catapulting the likes of Jeff Stelling, Chris Kamara, Phil Thompson, Matt Le Tissier, Charlie Nicholas and Paul Merson to broadcasting fame. Since its inception in 1998, Soccer Saturday has remained a staple part of many football fans' weekend routines. However, ahead of the 2020/21 season, major alterations were made to the line-up, with long-standing analysts Thompson, Nicholas and Le Tissier all being shown the door. Former host Stelling announced his intention to step down at the end of the following campaign but stayed on as presenter until 2023, while Kamara chose to depart one year earlier. Mirror Sport takes a look at the former Soccer Saturday cast and what they've been up to since leaving the show, which has taken a new direction with a fresh set of pundits. Jeff Stelling Having hosted Soccer Saturday for roughly 25 years, Stelling finally hung up his broadcasting boots in 2023. His boundless enthusiasm, extensive knowledge of clubs across the UK, and ability to manage the rolling score updates made him a firm favourite among viewers. "It is now the right time to move on and give Sky Sports viewers a break from my relentless rants, bad gags and over the top celebrations of Hartlepool United goals," he said in 2023. "It's been a lot of fun - for me at least!" He later started presenting for talkSPORT and opened up about his Sky departure to The Guardian: "I had the most fantastic run on the show; I made the greatest mates and was paid well for one of the best jobs in the world. But the show was heading in a direction which meant it wasn't quite the same. "Even though I'd been there a long time, I felt some of my views weren't considered at all. Every week I was fighting a battle. I got tired of fighting and it was making me ill. Eventually, I went to Sky's management and said: 'This is making me unwell. I've got to step away from it.'" The ex-Soccer Saturday presenter, who has been succeeded by Simon Thomas, has toured UK theatres in the past with Q&A shows called 'An Evening With Jeff Stelling'. Here, he chats about his Sky Sports presenting career while sharing countless anecdotes from his time in the business. Phil Thompson Liverpool legend Phil Thompson was among the initial batch of alterations to Soccer Saturday's most recognisable line-up. Thompson, 71, did acknowledge the decision to replace him was handled with care. Following his departure from the programme, he tweeted: "I've had a great 22 years with @SkySports. Enjoyed every minute with some amazing people on the show and behind the scenes which made it the iconic show it is today." Having established a quartet of pundits alongside Nicholas, Le Tissier and Merson, Thompson added: "It was three parts of a midfield. The others could have continued." Since departing Sky Sports, Thompson has remained active as a pundit across different platforms and also operates as an after-dinner speaker. Matt Le Tissier Southampton legend Matt Le Tissier was among the legendary trio to be shown the door in 2020. Stelling has confessed that Le Tissier was "hit hardest" by the announcement as the 56-year-old was considerably younger than his colleagues. Responding to the decision on social media, Le Tissier wrote: "Enjoyed my time at Sky Sports, time to look forward to life's next challenge." Having observed the fresh format since, in an interview with Le Tissier said: "Occasionally, if I'm in I'll watch it. There doesn't seem to be the same humour, the same level of camaraderie there than there used to be. "I think it's difficult because we had a team there that was together for a long time. Jeff Stelling's left now as well – that's a tough job for Simon Thomas, because Jeff was incredible at that job. For me the show was built around Jeff. We were there simply as the extras." Le Tissier sparked controversy with his anti-vaccination stance throughout the Covid-19 pandemic. He has also displayed fascination with conspiracy theories and has taken on the role of associate director at non-league Sholing. Charlie Nicholas Dubbed 'Champagne' throughout his playing career, former Scotland star Charlie Nicholas chose to remain silent when firings first broke out. A Sky Sports statement declared: "We are changing some parts of our football coverage Matt, Charlie and Phil have done a great job for us over the years, and they will leave us with our sincere thanks and very best wishes." Nevertheless, Nicholas launched a scathing attack on his previous employers in 2021. He slammed Sky Sports for failing to stand by his former colleague Andy Walker following his ban from Rangers and Celtic over on-air remarks. The Soccer Saturday threesome temporarily reunited for the 'Where's Jeff' podcast. Nicholas made an appearance in the BBC documentary Pitch Invasion this year, also starring in a Paddy Power advertisement featuring Scottish legends backing Spain before the Euro 2024 final. A roving reporter, Kamara's charisma and love for football, combined with some memorable on-air blunders, made him a vital component of Soccer Saturday. His 'Unbelievable Jeff' catchphrase only enhanced the programme's appeal. 'Kammy' departed Sky Sports following 24 years with the broadcaster at the conclusion of the 2021/22 campaign after receiving a speech apraxia diagnosis: "My time on Soccer AM, Goals on Sunday and, of course, on Soccer Saturday with Jeff has been – to coin a phrase – unbelievable. I've had the time of my life, and look forward to tuning in every Saturday as a fan." The 67-year-old featured on The Masked Singer and published his second autobiography, Kammy: My Incredible Life, in 2023. He opened up about his speech condition in 2023, which had prompted him to withdraw from most of his broadcasting duties. He told Good Morning Britain: "The [words] come out very slow so I thought that defined me. So, my apologies to everybody who's got a speech condition because it doesn't define who you are. I get upset talking about it because I was in denial, I was ashamed that I couldn't speak." Tony Cottee Tony Cottee was another of the names who departed Soccer Saturday at the end of the 2020/21 season, a year following the initial wave of alterations. The former West Ham and Everton forward has frequently featured on talkSPORT and continues working as a pundit. Nevertheless, he acknowledges it wasn't his decision to leave Soccer Saturday as he told the Undr the Cosh podcast: "I had 20 great years there and I look back and I don't like the way it ended. It was their choice more than my choice. I wanted to carry on being part of the show, obviously Soccer Saturday. "But I also look back and think I had 20 wonderful years. Some of the characters - Jeff Stelling's an amazing presenter. Then you think of like the Kammys and the McInallys [Alan McInally], and then the lads who were on the panel. Merse, Le Tiss, Charlie, Thommo. Just wonderful characters." Rodney Marsh An exit from Soccer Saturday that occurred well before the programme's shift in direction was Rodney Marsh. The ex-Manchester City forward was dismissed by Sky Sports in 2005 following a gag that made reference to the catastrophic Indian Ocean tsunami. Since his Sky departure, Marsh has featured on various television programmes, including I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here in 2007. The 80-year-old is currently employed by Sirius XM in a punditry role. Present Soccer Saturday line-up Thomas has presented the programme since Stelling departed in 2023, and the panel of experts, featuring Michael Dawson, Sue Smith, Tim Sherwood, Clinton Morrison and Kris Boyd, will continue unchanged for the upcoming season. Famous London hotel where both celebs and royalty have stayed named among 'best on Earth'
A top five-star London hotel has been named the third best place to stay in the world - and it's had guests such as the royal family and A-list celebrities come to stay London is full of allure and charm so it's no wonder one of the oldest and grandest hotels is a go-to favourite fit for royals and celebrities. Claridge's hotel in Mayfair still ranks as one of the world's top places to stay - and named as one of the 50 greatest luxury hotels on Earth by luxury lifestyle guide Robb Report. It's the only UK hotel to make the cut, and came in impressively at third place, just behind Florence's Collegio alla Querce in second, and Rosewood Amsterdam in first place. The historic five-star hotel was opened in 1821, and has been home to many iconic names including Queen Victoria and Kate Moss. The hotel has 269 rooms, all fit for royalty, as well as a subterranean spa, a fancy gym and two very prestigious restaurants, making it a seriously luxurious place to lay your head. Robb Report said: "This grande dame of the London hotel scene is a beloved, determinedly British institution that's been part of English life for decades, yet it retains a youthful vigor." Claridge's has one of the most expensive suites to book in London called the Royal Suite. A one-night stay in the regal room will set you back a staggering £21,600, but it's your chance to live like royalty for the day. The Royal Suite does luxury in an old-school way, decked out with regal and historical motifs throughout. From design elements reflecting the coronation of the late Queen Elizabeth II, to an original Gilbert and Sullivan grand piano in the lounge, and hand-painted national flowers by the artisans of de Gournay lining the dining room. There is also a round-the-clock butler for all your needs during your stay. For a regular balcony room, prices start from around £1,269 per night, and while it's pricey, guests have rated it an impressive 9.6 star rating. One visitor said: "This was our first time at Claridges. Everything was top notch, our room 521 was stunning, a massive room with a really good size balcony. It's not cheap, but, treat yourselves. Life's short. We have already started saving again for another visit." A second commented: "The best place on earth. Luxurious, yet warm and welcoming. Staff and service like no other! 2nd to none!!" And a third said: "We had a wonderful 2-night stay. The hotel was superb and the staff were impeccable. The experience we had in the hotel restaurants and bars was amazing."
