Interstate cattle-smuggling racket busted, nine arrested in Telangana
According to Nirmal SP Dr G Janaki Sharmila, the group allegedly procured cattle from farmers along the Nirmal–Nanded border, sedated them with anaesthetic injections before slaughtering them and transporting the beef for sale in Maharashtra.
The gang was led by Syed Sohail from Nanded, Maharashtra, who is said to have recruited about 40 people.
Police said the accused operated from a large garage in Nanded where they modified vehicles, including Innovas and Boleros, to facilitate the cattle smuggling racket. Khalid from Bhainsa allegedly supplied the drugs used to sedate the animals.
CCTV footage from Mudhole recently captured an attempted theft of cattle, leading to the arrest of one suspect.

Telangana Police bust interstate gang sedating cattle for slaughter, arrest nine
Telangana police have arrested nine members of an interstate gang that sedated cattle, stole them, and sold the meat in Maharashtra border gang, active for several months in Nirmal district and neighbouring regions in Telangana, was led by Syed Sohel from Nanded, who had nearly 40 members under said the gang used sedative injections, supplied by Khalid from Bhainsa, to capture cows and bulls. When the gang fled to Ajmer, Rajasthan, the police team, coordinating with Rajasthan Police, caught seven members near Ajmer more were arrested locally in Bhainsa, while Raju from Nanded and Tayub from Bhainsa remain seized a Mahindra XUV500, a Dzire car, eight mobile phones, and 39,280 in cash. The accused were allegedly involved in multiple cattle thefts in Nirmal and Mudhol, causing heavy losses to G Janaki Sharmila, IPS, warned that illegal cattle transport is a criminal offence and assured strict legal action against offenders. Special drive held against minor driving
Nirmal: As part of road accident prevention under the orders of SP Dr G Janaki Sharmila, inspections were conducted across all police stations regarding minor driving on Sunday in Nirmal district. Around 100 minor driving cases were registered, approximately 100 vehicles were seized, and 296 minors received counselling from Avinash Kumar ASP Bhainsa, and Rajesh Meena ASP Nirmal. The second phase of counselling will be conducted on Tuesday at the district headquarters by Additional SP Upender Reddy. 'Vehicle owners must take responsibility and parents should understand this matter,' said SP Sharmila. 'If minors are given vehicles cases will be registered against parents and vehicle owners under the Motor Vehicle Act. If cases are registered, they may face difficulties in the future. Giving vehicles to children leads to reckless and high-speed driving making them prone to accidents and endangering others. Everyone must follow road safety measures,' said the SP. 'Police fines are part of safety measures and are meant for change. Vehicle owners who violate rules and get fined once should ensure they do not repeat such mistakes,' she added.
