All dept coordination meet held ahead of Haj-2025
Hyderabad: Ahead of the Haj-2025, Telangana State Haj Committee conducted an inter-departmental coordination meeting on Tuesday in preparation for the smooth conduct of the operations. Shaik Yasmeen Basha, director, Minorities Welfare, issued strict instructions to all departments to ensure timely completion of their respective responsibilities.
She emphasised importance of inter-departmental synergy, proactive planning and real-time response to address needs of the pilgrims, especially during the peak operational days in Hyderabad Embarkation Point.
The meeting was attended by senior officials and representatives from key departments including the police, traffic wing, Fire Services, GHMC, SBI, Roads & Buildings, TGSRTC, TGSPDCL and TG Transco, Medical & Health, Horticulture. The meeting was held to ensure seamless coordination among all concerned departments to facilitate arrangements for departure and return of the pilgrims from Telangana.
Yasmeen Basha directed the GHMC to maintain hygiene and cleanliness in and around Haj House, the traffic and police to streamline vehicle movement and security, the Medical & Health to provide adequate facilities to the pilgrims, the R&B to ensure proper maintenance of access roads, and TSSPDCL to provide uninterrupted power. The SBI was requested to facilitate hassle-free services for the pilgrims.
Highlighting the significance of the pilgrimage, she reiterated the government's commitment to provide the best possible facilities to the pilgrims and ensure that no inconvenience is caused to them at any stage. The meeting concluded with assurances from all departments to work in close coordination and uphold the dignity and sanctity of pilgrimage.

Earlier in the day, foreign policy experts had debunked reports and claims made by some opposition leaders about Saudi Arabia visa halt, asserting that the "temporary decision" would not affect the sturdy relationship between both nations. Government sources had made it clear that Saudi Arabia's move to temporarily halt Umrah, business, and family visit visas for 14 countries, including India, from April to June 2025, was to manage the massive Haj crowds and ensure safety. Despite such temporary restrictions, the Saudi government remains focused on expanding tourism with India under the Vision 2030 initiative. The bilateral trade between the two countries touched USD $43.36 billion in FY-2023-24. During Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to the country last month, India and Saudi Arabia signed USD $100 billion worth of agreements in energy, infrastructure, security, and innovation sectors, strengthening bilateral trade and investment relations. India's fifth-largest trading partner, Saudi Arabia continues to align its economic priorities amidst global market turbulence and energy realignments.

Visitors flock Masula Beach Festival to experience a spectrum of fun
Minister for Mines, Geology and Excise Kollu Ravindra on Saturday said the government was keen on promoting Manginapudi beach in Machilipatnam as a premier tourist destination. Speaking at the ongoing Masula Beach Festival-2025, he said the visitors can engage in an array of activities designed to showcase the region's cultural and recreational significance. He said the event offered exciting adventure and sports activities like water sports and beach games such as beach volleyball, beach football, paragliding and heli-riding. Celebrating a rich cultural tapestry and culinary expedition, a series of cultural programmes are planned to keep the crowds entertained and a diverse range of food items from across the country have come under one roof, he said. Sharing his personal experience, the Minister said the beach appeared even more magnificent when paragliding. He, along with Andhra Pradesh Sports Authority chairman A. Ravi Naidu and A.P. State Road Transport Corporation chairman Konakalla Narayana Rao, visited the place and monitored the smooth conduct of events. Later, at the kayaking event, he congratulated Arjuna awardee and kayaking coach Jayant Kumar and distributed jerseys to the kayaking participants. He said kayaking would be an annual event on the beach, and very soon, national and international competitions would also be organised at this place. Mr. Ravi Naidu said organising regular sports events on the beach will enhance the reputation of the historically significant beach and groom local sports talent into national and international athletes. RTC chairman Narayana Rao said free bus services were available from Machilipatnam to Manginapudi beach and encouraged people to utilise this facility to become part of a joyful experience at the beach festival. On the inaugural day, Minister Tourism Kandula Durgesh said active efforts were being made to secure more funds from the Centre to initiate new tourism projects for the State and make it a tourist hub. Special Chief Secretary, Department of Tourism Ajay Jain, Krishna district Collector D.K. Balaji and others were present at the inaugural. The four-day festival, which started on June 5, is drawing large crowds, and elaborate arrangements have been made for their safety. A combination of water sports like kayaking, parasailing and speed boat rides, along with cultural programmes and other activities, has significantly enhanced the excitement quotient in the vicinity. These attractions provide a variety of experiences, appealing to both adventure seekers and those interested in cultural events.
