Suniel Shetty pens heartfelt birthday wish for Paresh Rawal amid ‘Hera Pheri 3' dispute
Rawal's departure has reportedly left both fans and colleagues disheartened. Suniel Shetty, who plays the calm and collected Shyam in the series, expressed his disappointment during an interview with ANI.
'I mean, it's an absolute shock to me. I'm here because I heard it yesterday, and then today, some more news came about. So, I need to call and find out, and I'm completely heartbroken because if there was one film I was looking forward to, it was Hera Pheri, you know,' Shetty said.
He also emphasised that the franchise would be incomplete without Rawal's character.
'It cannot happen. One hundred per cent cannot happen without Paresh Rawal. It can have a 1 per cent chance without me and Akshay, but 100 per cent cannot happen without Paresh ji. No, it doesn't. Raju and Shyam, if they're not hammered by Babu here, it doesn't work,' he added.
In the original Hera Pheri films, Akshay Kumar played Raju, Suniel Shetty portrayed Shyam, and Paresh Rawal immortalised the character of Baburao, earning widespread acclaim for his comedic timing and memorable dialogues.
As fans continue to hope for the return of the original trio, Shetty's message serves as a poignant reminder of the camaraderie and legacy that the Hera Pheri franchise represents.

Speaking to reporters, Soundararajan said, 'Tamil is an ancient language, and you will always see Prime Minister Narendra Modi stating this... Whenever you express the richness of your language, you should not hurt the sentiments of others. When you express the richness of your language, you should also think about other languages.' 'Why didn't Kamal Haasan mention this previously when he was acting in Kannada, Telugu and Hindi movies? Why now does he want to disrupt the brotherhood of other states?' she remarked. Speaking to mediapersons in Bengaluru, Sa Ra Govindu, representative of KFCC, said that they have decided to ban the release of Kamal Haasan starrer 'Thug Life' in Karnataka as they stand firmly with Karnataka Rakshana Vedike and other Kannada organisations for their demands of halting the release of the film until the actor issues a pubic apology. The KFCC representative said that Kamal Haasan has not yet issued an apology for hurting the sentiments of the Kannada people during his promotional event in Chennai. On Wednesday, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah criticised Kamal Haasan for his reported remark about the Kannada language, stating that he was not aware of the language's 'long-standing' history. 'Kannada has a long-standing history. Poor Kamal Haasan, he is unaware of it,' the Karnataka Chief Minister said. Asked if he ever worries about sequels or remakes not living up to the original films, Yadav shared that he doesn't see any point in being scared. He added that every film is an opportunity -- for filmmakers, actors, and audiences; hence, cinema should bring fresh ideas regardless of whether it's a remake or an original movie. 'Darne se kya fayeda. Bana hi daali hai toh flop hojaegi, isse jyada kya hojaega.
